I agree, this is a solid card from top to bottom. I'm looking forward to just about every fight.

Should be a good one!
I especially want to see Cerrone and Mcgregor in their fights

Yeah .... plenty of intrigue with this card.

- Mighty Mouse has proven a dominant champion. People say he's not a finisher? He subs Moraga, knocks out Benavidez, and dominates Bagautinov for the full 25 mins in his past 3.

- Cariaso ... a massive underdog (similar to how Dillashaw was vs. Barao).

- Cerrone is always in exciting fights. 2 performance of the night bonuses / 1 sub bonus / 1 KO bonus in his past 4 fights. 5-1 in his past 6.

- Alvarez is also an exciting fighter ... always bringing it. His 2 fights vs. Michael Chandler are 2 of the best fights in MMA history (see the SPIKE feature Saturday evening wherein they'll show both). The first minute of the 1st fight is fucking bananas. See Youtube link below ... people have wanted to see Eddie in the UFC for many years after all the Bellator contractual hold-up.

- McGregor has been a fan fave the past 2 years and is living up to the hype. Poirier is the most credible fighter he's ever faced up until this point.

- Poirier's legit ... one of my fave fighters during his WEC/UFC years.

- Zingano is returning after her surgery and rehabilitation, and the loss of her husband via suicide. She was to coach opposite ROUSEY on TUF, but her injury withheld her from that role on the series, and the person she beat (Tate) faced off vs. Rousey on the show, and fought the champ for a 2nd time in late-Dec' 2013 on the big Silva/Weidman II card to cap the year. She's been guaranteed the title shot (which was hers last year) if she defeats Nunes tomorrow. Nunes is legit in her own right.

- Kennedy / Romero ... Kennedy is consistent, if not the most exciting. Romero is a powerhouse.

- Dominick Cruz is fucking back. Finally. Several injuries and surgeries ... years doing the broadcast work for Fox, etc. Last fought in Oct. 2011 ... and has WEC/UFC championship status to his name. Wish that cat the best. He's been through enough already coming back from adversity over and over. Mizugaki is a tough MF. He's on a winning streak in 2013/2014.

Wonderboy / The Predator ... that should be a fun scrap.

Masvidal / Krause aren't boring fighters. Both fun to watch on their feet.

Gamburyan is moving down in weight. Should be interesting to see how he matches up with Gibson (who's younger in his career and fun to watch).

That. Was a great fight

Right on, bro. Glad you liked it. Funny thing is ... most sequels aren't as good as the original (movies, fights, what have you). Those cats went out there and did the damn thing in the 2nd fight too and that shit was off the wall with them both bloodied up. Lived up to the hype √

Enjoy the card, all. The prelims started just over 10 mins ago, so we've got a little less than 2 hours until the main card. Make sure to catch CRUZ/MIZUGAKI as the final fight of the prelims leading into the main card. See how Dom' performs coming off nearly 3 years on the shelf.

this is a complete quality card from top to bottom

Hughes was too passive and non-aggressive in that 3rd rd
that's why he lost to Ebersole by decision

next fight the predator vs wonderboy
interesting matchup

The Cote/Thompson fight sucked with all the high fives and hugging.
Thompson could've put Cote away if it wasn't such a lovefest.

I so agree - half the night is like this - all the fighters are all hugs after hard punches -

The fighters dont have to hate each other but act like this person is between you and your goal to money and the championship - as Mike Tyson used to say "Throw every shot with bad intentions".

Well said, WW. This is competition and a completely brutal sport at times. The only people pulling for you to rise in the ranks = yourself, your team, and your fam' and friends. You've gotta see your opponents as the next stepping stone ahead of you as you rise the ranks. As GG (host of MMAJunkie Radio) puts it ... he's pissed when fighters don't dictate the path of their careers, especially in post-fight interviews. When Rogan or Anik puts the mic in your face, it's ok to make a RESPECTFUL CALL-OUT and make it known you're looking for quality competition, as opposed to the boring "whoever the UFC chooses for me". Shit ... that's your time with millions of people watching, the mic' in your face, and people like Silva, Shelby, Fertitta, and White listening. Both matchmakers and the big dawgs. They listen to fighters when match-ups make SENSE/CENTS.

well no one can say that was
a quick stoppage by the ref
its good to see D. Cruz back in the octagon

DAMN!!!!! Cruz is back!

The ref was fuckin' up. I was yelling at the TV, "STOP THE FIGHT!"

Gotdamn -

Dominick Cruz hitting every shot with BAD INTENTIONS

I hope the rest of the night starts to move in this direction

Always been a fan of Cruz

Funk - you are right - you can call out for the next fighter 2 notches or so above you in the rankings - be proud, slightly arrogant and fucking confident - this is the life you chose - make it work for you not you for it -

CRUZ looking like he never left.

and i agree, that should have been stopped earlier, but I rather than then a herb dean stop, ref gave him a little more leeway

He's fun to watch (Cruz). People complain about cats like him and Demetrious Johnson (Mighty Mouse) over the years and how they go to decision so much at 125 and 135lbs respectively. Many decisions and whatnot. But shit ... it's fun to watch them showcase their speed, footwork & overall movement. These guys are master tacticians. It's fun to watch them son their peers round after round over the years :D

Agreed, bro. Don't be an ass about it ... just be confidently cocky and call your shots, as many people have had success with this approach over the years, especially with the countless number of cards these days. Also ... stay healthy while you're at it and don't fall out of shape/weight. We all know how many injuries, opponent changes, and bout fall-offs there are in the sport. Be ready to step up on 1, 2, 3 weeks notice if need be. Cash those paychecks. Stay in the org's good graces.

cruz called out yall whole damn camp!!!

I thought he was gone be like "Thats why I fucked all yall bitches mutha fuckas"

tupac-hit-em-up-o.gif

So I wonder how Joe Silva and UFC officials
gonna put D.Cruz at title match against Dillashaw for the title
because that would be an exciting fight

he called out the whole alpha male camp
And I think if he stays healthy he can back it up

daam
this zingano vs nunes fight is esciting as fuck
nunes landed some heavy shots on zingano
but she weathered the storm

I am so looking forward to the Cat Zingano Rhonda Rousey Fight now - she seems the only one to have the aggression and the techniques to give Rousey that work
