49ers

Any thoughts on the Hakeem Nicks rumors?

doesn't make sense now.

manningham is confirmed to be back and practicing with the team this week and could be in as soon as sunday.

he goes to #2 wr immediately and hopefully pushes kyle williams to #4

and then a month from now crab comes back. makes no sense to do it we don't even use all the weapons we have right now

while the colts ran the ball all night and won the game.

like we couldn't have easily done this repeatedly and scored touch downs cause unlike the chargers we have a good red zone running offensive team.

so can we officially hang the colts loss on roman now or what?

I'm good with that , but is it just me, or does it seem as though Colin has lost some of his on field Confidence now that the RO has been marginally disrupted?

His confidence is ok out there the only thing is he isn't running when he should, he's staying in the pocket and not going for it like he used to. i think that part is coming back though.

once he starts scrambling when the play breaks down like he would last year then its a wrap

I see this dude get sacked so much he's already been sacked 13 times and lost 4 fumbles in my head I'm like run yo!!!!:smh:

well part of that is because the play designs are shitty as far as passing goes. so nobody open and a spy= sack

he DOES need to be secure with the football back there. all of the fumbles were avoidable every one.

but he's turning the corner back to greatness.

and even though he's been kind of down he still has numbers comparable to some of the best qb's in the league.

Outside of basic statistics, which can be misleading, Reid is doing a whole lot more on the field than what is normally expected from a rookie defensive back.

Please pardon me while I play catch up…

Reid's communication has been documented sense preseason. Dude takes great notes in class and Whitner has said that's it's easier to play with him because he communicates so well on and off the field.

During week 4 when Brock and Rodgers miscommunicated and blew a coverage that could have lead to a TD it was Reid who got them communicating properly to get them on the same page.

On the Brock INT during the Texans game you see Reid communicating with Brock. Even more important when the receiver comes in motion you see Reid clapping to get everyone on same page. You also see Rodgers talking to Brock. All 3 got on the same page quickly and were in perfect position on the play. Just check the coaches tape.

Dude is balling way above what a normal rookie would. Not only is he making plays but he is elevating the play of his teammates like a veteran would.

We all know why we lost the Colts game. Roman totally ditched the run which is 100% stupid. He went away from the teams strength and went exclusively to the teams weakness. You can talk to someone who doesn't know anything about football and they will tell you from a common sense stand point that doing that was stupid.

We can run on anyone. The passing will come together as long as we continue to run and use creative formations. You saw this on Sunday versus the Cardinals. The 2 Davis TD's were creative formations that lead to TD's. It's simple.

We're nicked up but we all knew we just had to get to the bye week and reinforcements would arrive. If we can make it through the next 2 weeks clean we'll be ready to run the table.

its time to stop referring to him as a rookie. he's playing like a pro bowler.

6 games 27 tackles 6 passes defended 1 fumble recovery 3 int's?

he already has more int's through 6 games than goldson had all of last season

and he's already caught more passes than a.j. jenkins has as a 49er

my complaint is we don't use the talent we have

kyle got 40 plays sunday.. WHY?

baldwin only got 18...

and we have the best tight end in davis

and pretty much a gronk brent jones clone in macdonald

but we throw the ball to bruce miller in the red zone.

and i like bruce he's a damn good full back but let him be the full back you have a monster like macdonald out in the open its trouble because 1 person isn't bringing him down.

and then the dixon obsessions he hasn't earned those carries.

all carries need to go through gore and then hunter and then james then dixon. hunter barely gets the ball but always finds a way to get into the end zone

so yea we are getting reinforcements but we don't even use the top talent we have effectively our offense should be a juggernaut even with injuries to crab and manningham

and nobody can say it can't be done
does everyone see what vic has done with the injuries we've had on defense and continue to have?

no excuses on that side is there? :smh:

You know we're on the same page here.

During Sunday's game:
- Why not use the bigger targets of Baldwin, McDonald or Celek on the goal line?
- Beginning of the game Roman chose to run to the outside. The Cardinals have speed on defense. Why not use the quicker Hunter or James?
- Speaking of James, he's the best kick returner we have - why isn't he on the fucking field?

The lack of proper personnel use and play-calling still baffles me but it's coming together.

-Beginning 2 red zone possessions. a simple set with Baldwin boldin as the wr gore and miller in the back field and macdonald and davis on the same side to resemble a power formation, fake to gore and pass to either of the tight ends who release from their blocks is a touch down that you cannot stop even if you know it's coming...just can't do it.

and the next possession same set.. run it with gore. gain a couple 2nd and goal same set jump ball to baldwin or boldin because they have no choice but to sell out on the run you aren't giving any safety help in a tight formation...

that's not hard to think of or do.

james should be returning kicks and punts. kyle williams i still do not trust.

Use hunter every week he barely gets it then makes a touch down lol. use him he's clearly healthy and ready.

stop using bruce miller in the passing game. use him in the running game and use macdonald the huge target all the time in millers spot. he is bigger stronger and faster and more dangerous after the catch.

we have the best tight end combo in the nfl and don't use them when we watch the patriots use their lesser tight ends to the tune of an almost unstoppable type redzone offense.

its coming around though i have some faith

Largebills & Awwschitt, here's a youtube vid of that Eric Reid & Brock INT against the Texans....
The guy talking accidentally says T.Brown instead of Brock for that pick 6....

they'll learn brock's name,

and as much as everyone shits on nnamdi, brock doesn't step up if he doesn't feel the pressure of nnamdi playing over him. he probably doesn't improve as much as he did. iron sharpens iron is true. these dudes are HUNGRY.

like how eric reid our 1st round pick started his nfl career running with the 4th team not the 1st. he had to earn it and he ain't never letting it go... that's how you do it, i wish they'd make kyle williams earn it. or give james a chance to earn it

is tank off the pup list and practicing yet? chances of playing this week? haven't seen much on csn from maiocco. we need the tackle spot shored up.

Tank, Dial, Wright and Manningham are all practicing this week.

Yesterday our starting d-line didn't practice so that Tank and Dial could get all of the 1st team reps. and they're running practice squad defense as well.

Hopefully they play sunday so we can start unleashing

We've got some rather shocking news this morning. Dr. Dan Garza, the 49ers medical director and team physician, passed away last night at his home. Dr. Garza was also an assistant professor medical researcher at Stanford, and they were the ones to first report the news of his passing. There was no immediate word on the cause of death.

rip

Maybe in the 90's but not now. They have no choice but to respect the affiliation

only mexicans MIGHT say something but even then its playful.

Those dudes got reps because the D-Line is nicked up. Smith, Dorsey & McDonald are all hurting.

It's a 2-sided solution I think we'll see play out over the next 3 weeks. The guys that are beat up will rest while the guys coming off injury will be brought up to speed as quickly as possible in practice.

I don't expect to see Carradine, Dial or Manningham play until after the bye. The Titans strength is their defense. As long we play our game (fingers crossed) we'll be ok. Then it's onto the Jaguars (who are like an extra bye). After this we should come out the gate refreshed, reloaded and ready to run the table.

i think we see dial before the bye week. carradine too

they've been healthy for a long time. dial was working through something and tank was healthy going into camp but they wanted to make 100% sure. and they've been in the meetings and everything from day 1 so they know the scheme and how to play it just have to get out there and get reps.

and it couldn't be at a better position on the line you stuff the run and eat up the linemen so the lb can flow free. i think dial for sure can do that right now

The San Francisco 49ers have made the first of what should be multiple roster transactions. The team announced they have waived WR/TE Chris Harper. The 49ers signed him to a three-year contract after the Seattle Seahawks waived him in their final roster cuts. The 49ers gave him $202,000 in guaranteed money as part of the deal, so they will take a dead money hit with that.

The more important part of this news is the fact that it opens a roster spot. The 49ers are likely going to use that roster spot for a defensive lineman. Glenn Dorsey could still conceivably play on Sunday, but after sitting out practice on Wednesday, I would not expect him active on Sunday. Vic Fangio met with the media and indicated they would see what he could do today in practice. I suspect he will be listed as DNP once again.

what i say, probably dial well hopefully dial

I just worry about what kind of football shape they are in. You know they aren't fully up to speed. I don't like rushing guys back onto the field. Especially with our schedule being "lite" and a bye coming up.

And fuck Harper. He didn't do anything for us. The Seahawks will probably sign him tomorrow.

they're in shape, football shape we'll see as far as that goes but they are fully up to speed scheme wise and responsibility wise. they've been in the meetings since day 1 and throughout the season they just weren't allowed to practice with the team. so scheme wise and knowing what they have to do they know.

and it'll probably just be dial he's been chomping at the bit to get back in there. and then after the bye have eric, tank and manningham in there after it will have been 3 full weeks of practice

^^Like I said, after the bye we'll be locked and loaded. Just want to get to it healthy. Someone put the whammy on us. :hmm:

just made us prove what everyone had been saying about us being deep. we've proved it.. at all positions. so much so we've been begging for the offense to use the rest of the weapons we have on reserve for strange reasons

dead horse i know but i thought of a personnel group for the red zone that works whether we're 15 yards out or 2.

boldin, baldwin, davis, macdonald, gore.

there is literally a million things you can do

still run with power gore but the more creative thing would be having the te's as wideouts. if its one thing our te's do well is block.

boldin and macdonald together

davis and baldwin together.

interchangeable screen passes

you can even have macdonald and davis together split wide stacked and throw it to davis have macdonald block for vernon that's a score.

you can have them on the line and run to their side

and then have them fake block release and throw to either one.

you can single out vernon or baldwin or boldin to the weak side and then throw a jump ball

and at any point you can audible into a power run play because you still have gore
how isn't this the standard for us when we get into the red zone?

a gore and hunter set where they're in split backs and we do a fake screen with one and then a true screen with the other

or we could actually have shotgun split backs and run the zone read out of that formation with depending on where the line goes he hands it to either back. that would work with james in there too.

trips with a rb split wide.. in example boldin macdonald and gore or hunter and throw a quick screen to hunter or even boldin and have the rb block. or we could have them all go out and send boldin on a flat route and have hunter go deep or the rb go deep fooling the coverage.

this offense should be unstoppable there shouldn't be any way you could game plan for it due to us running multiple different plays from the exact same formations and different formations from the exact same personnel groups.

the only way you could know what we were doing is on short yardage situations.. and even then you already know that's a wrap as well

I like it, well conceived and makes perfect sense, but I don't see Roman Ever putting this group out there much less in the RZ

LBOP, well thought out post. I agree with you (as you know). We can put many personnel variations on the field. Not just on the goal line but at any point on the field.

As Killa and we have said many times before it's up to Roman to make it happen. As we've seen we can't trust him to make it so. Hell we can't trust him to call power running plays when we need to.

Seattle ultimately beat the Titans by running the ball with Lynch. Right up the gut, nothing fancy. That happens to be our teams strength. Lets see our game plan with be on Sunday.

yea that's after we run the ball just to change it up

and in the further redzone areas

im happy with us running it 50 times in a row with gore and hunter and dominating everybody every week as well

So it begins :dance::yes:

The San Francisco 49ers have officially made the call for their 53rd roster spot. The team announced they activated rookie defensive tackle Quinton Dial from the Reserve/Non-Football Injury list. Dial underwent surgery on a turf toe injury shortly after the end of his college career, and was placed on the NFI list at the start of training camp. He began practicing on Tuesday, and is likely to dress for his first NFL game on Sunday.

He only had a turf toe he was out because of depth and precautionary reasons now he's in there.

and to calm nerves

all reports have been positive about his work this week. Vic Fangio said he was looking good for a guy who was just getting on the practice field. Patrick Willis told the media it was obvious he and Tank Carradine had been working hard.

willis isn't just going to say that and we know for damn sure vic isn't gonna say anything good, same guy that wasn't sure if eric reid was going to start for us 1st game of the season (playing coy)

i think he makes some big plays sunday on that line

i think next week tank gets activated so he can get some work in against the jags...some experience on the field in game, and then we can correct whatever needs to be corrected during the bye week

why the fuck is spillman in the damn game. don't put him in until the last minute in the 4th quarter smfh

soon as he's in they throw it deep TWICE right to his side.. the side eric reid would be on

get him out the damn game
