49ers

keep playing around with teams smfh

just get the ball chew the clock and score some damn points this game should be over right now should be 0:00 on the clock

and calling conservative defense fucking calls

why is spillman playing?

they have no had any passing game until spillman plays

they only throw it to spillman's side

this is not a coincidence

get him out the fucking game damn

After the game at the press conference..
Harbaugh said Aldon Smith might be coming back right after the bye week

So we get back
1. Quinton Dial (already playing)
2. Tank Carradine
3. Mario Manningham
4. Eric Wright
5. Aldon Smith
6. Quinton Patton
7. Micheal Crabtree (back just before the playoffs)

On the bench we still have
1. LaMichael James
2. Nnamdi Asomugha

quality win today, loved the defense.. kinda liked the offense, but I always find myself saying "could this shit lead us to prevail against an Elite team :smh: "

nah

we were on cruise control entire 2nd half. don't read too much into it

also dont forget this team just went to seattle and only lost by 7 and they were tops in the nfl in turnover difference also had 18 sacks

so this performance was more impressive than we might be realizing

Negatives:

1. Kyle Williams sucks
* Dude fumbled on that return, luckily the Titans could not challenge the play

2. Craig Dahl sucks

3. Only use CJ Spillman for special teams

4. Seems like every game someone gets dinged up
*Whitner & Reid got banged up a little, & Vernon still has that sore hammy

5. Not a single WR (except Boldin), made a catch today :smh:
* Still can't believe no one is stepping up, not even Jon Baldwin
* Manningham is not even a #2 WR

6. Kyle Williams sucks.... I know I typed that twice!

:hmm::hmm::hmm:

baldwin cannot step up because he doesn't get the start over williams,

i put no blame on baldwin. its on greg roman continuing to start a wr that clearly doesn't belong in the nfl. its really simple as that.

and spillman is ass as a safety

dahl is at least decent.

spillman needs to stick to special teams PERIOD
put kap at safety before you put spillman back there

oh

and dial looks like a got damn beast

I feel what you're saying Curt.

Kyle Williams does suck. No one else is stepping up but are they getting the opportunity to? Williams is continually being sent out there instead of Baldwin or Moore.

It's the same for the return game. James is a healthy but they are letting Williams return over him.

We all know Spillman is strictly a special teams player. So is Dahl at this point. Reid and Whitner better stay healthy.

Why LaMichael James doesn't get to spin fucking perplexes me    , he has Darren Sproles/Reggie Bush potential

Yea I know man

Before he got injured, I remember reading Patton was going to be our #2 WR.
I really don't understand why Baldwin is not getting more opportunities.
He should know the playbook by now.

And LaMichael has been talking shit on twitter about not getting any playing time.
Coaches are benching him, just like they did to Brandon Jacobs last year.

there's no excuse for williams over baldwin.

im glad they got hunter in more but need to even more.

and yup james did the wrong thing with the twitter shit. this is not the team to vent frustrations out like that on especially a deep team like ours

I believe James isn't playing because of Kyle Williams... Due to the WR injuries Williams plays the dual role of receiver and returner. The coaches are blinded by his dual activity and over looking his effectiveness, or lack thereof.

Curt, you listed all the guys we are getting back. We're going to have to make room for those guys. Start thinking about who should go....

I'll open up the above to all the homies. Put on your GM hat and put the roster together for the stretch run. I'll chime in also after I review it all.

1. Well we already cut the Seattle WR (Harper) to make room for Quinton Dial
2. I don't think Quinton Patton went on pup, so he still counts against 53 man roster
3. Of course Aldon Smith is still on the roster

So we need to make room for...
1. Tank Carradine
2. Mario Manningham
3. Eric Wright
4. Michael Crabtree
5. Nick Moody (almost forgot about him. he was placed on IR/elegible to return)

I dont think we activate ALL 5 of these guys. I think maybe 4 of the 5.
*our special teams is already good, so Moody might not be needed.
*Marlon Moore gets cut for Manningham
*Jerod-Eddie gets cut for Carradine
(not sure if Jerod-Eddie is PS squad eligible)

*Possible bubble guys:
Kyle Williams, Jon Baldwin, Brent Celek, Nate Stupar, Nnamdi, Cox,

:dunno::dunno::dunno:

edit: I just checked the roster... who the heck is Jermaine Cunningham?
Yea he'll probably be gone too

Aldon Smith is on the Non-Football Injury list along with Carradine & Wright. A spot on the roster would need to be cleared for him as well.

I see it as such (In - Out):
Mario Manningham - Marlon Moore

Tank Carradine - Jermaine Cunningham (the unknown LB)

Nick Moody - Nate Stupar. Moody is much better on special teams and during preseason Stupar was the #5 ILB.

Aldon Smith - Tony Jerod-Eddie. He is practice squad eligible, but they way this season has gone down he'll get picked up by another team.

Michael Crabtree - Bethel-Thompson. I don't even know his 1st name. He's always inactive and we may just ride with 2 QB's like most teams do. The other option would be placing Patton on IR (depending on his foot) or waiving Kyle Williams. Patton clearly moved ahead of Williams and won't be going anywhere. Just have to see how healthy he is for the stretch run.

Eric Wright - Bubba Ventrone. I like him, good special teams player but with Moody's return he's expendable. I agree that Nnamdi and Cox are on the bubble. It could be either one of these 2 instead of Ventrone to keep the special teams that much stronger.

Now the question arises... Which 7 players do you not dress on Sunday? If we stuck with the 1st names I said would be waived above then I would go with:
1) Nnamdi 2) Cox 3) Looney
4) Dixon 5) Williams - Clears the way for James to play KR & RB
6) Baldwin or Patton
7) Osgood or Morris - Both very good & speedy special teams players. Tough to choose between the 2.

toss up with everyone but this list here? you don't dress looney and nnamdi i guess.

and you choose between baldwin or patton personally i don't see a need for dixon to dress at all.

and we need osgood and morris to dress every week. they shouldn't be on any bubble to dress

Morris runs a 4.33 40
and osgood runs a low 4.4 40

they get down there on special teams and especially punts like no other. they are more valuable imo than dixon and williams combined. that speed as the gunner makes the difference. we saw it just yesterday score a td but we've been seeing it all season. morris flies down there and traps the runner every time. yesterday he got the hit and osgood was right behind him to score the td.

they've been locking up returners all season and we've faced some real good ones and they've done nothing

scared the shit out of kap

look at his face

I agree. I love them both on special teams. I like how the unit is performing. I don't want to see anyone go but it's a numbers thing. It's going to be interesting to see how it actually works out.

YO! When I saw Kaep's reaction after the headbutt I damn near fell out. He looked at Boone like "this mofo is psycho".

after how bad they were last year and how good they are this year, you have to make room for them even at the expense of someone else

remove a lb. and just have them on at the db and wr position.

yea kap was shook. every time i see his reaction i just can't help but laugh like he wasn't expecting that at all

AwwSchitt, I like your list.
I agree with everything except cutting Bubba Ventrone & Bethel-Thompson.

I don't see us starting (rookie) Moody & cutting (vet) Ventrone.
From the games I've seen, Ventrone looks solid.
He's made plays on special teams.
Guys like Osgood & Ventrone were brought in specifically b/c they were special teams aces.

I'm not sure what to make of our 3rd QB carrasel.
We bought in Bethel-Thompson to push McCoy.
Yea Bethel-Thompson does suck but...
Judging from the way Harbaugh freaks out when Kaep runs, I'm not sure if we risk having only 2 QB's on the roster.

I hope Kap watches out for the Jaguars defenders....they tried to take Manning out by hitting his knees....The hits was all late....:smh::smh::hmm::hmm:

I like Ventrone also. He has been very solid. I always look for him, Spillman, Osgood & Morris to make a play. They are the reasons our special teams unit hasn't been giving up any big returns.

I can easily see Cox being waived instead of Ventrone. Nnamdi is a great insurance policy to have if someone gets injured (knock on wood - please football gods let us remain healthy).

The weeks ahead will be interesting. Let's see how Baalke puts this team together for the stretch run.

hopefully we just do what the jags did. run it down their throats

dominate them and fly back home.

titans got chippy out there last game due to frustration after being dominated.

Dial is tall. I like that. Very good height for a NT. When 2-gapping he can see over the center easily and know what direction to play.

The Titans game worked out perfectly. We got ahead and was then able to rest our starters who were banged up. At one point we went through a stretch of the game with 5 backups on defense. We need to repeat that versus the Jags.

Jim should be saying the Jags are dangerous and out to embarrass us. Let's get out there, destroy them and then play our younger players and keep the pressure up so we can fly back with pride and enjoy the bye week

that comes from watching film and being sound in technique. could not have played that any better. he ran the route as good as the wr did

He played it perfectly. Everyone else bit on the pump accept for him.

I personally would have liked to see him move inside and cover the slot receiver sometimes. Kendall Wright was eating Rogers alive.

as will all fast slot wr's rogers has been getting burnt but nobody says nothing.

he insists on covering the slot for whatever reason.

brock is proving he can be a starting cb in the nfl he's always lined up 1 on 1 on the outside.

we'll see what happens when Eric Wright comes back and personally i like nnamdi on the outside as well. people will say he's played bad but the stats don't back that assessment up. he's had 6 passes completed on him in the couple games he played, rogers had 9 completed on him sunday.

Agreed. Rodgers always gets burnt by speedy slot guys. Shakes my damn head how the coaches never adjust the defense.

I would love it if we resigned Brock. He's won my trust.

Nnamdi played well. He's a great #4 or #5 to have.

Remember the 2011 49ers vs Giants playoff game?
Victor Cruz made Rogers his bitch!
Carlos has NEVER been able to hang with those quick slot WR's
Danny Amendola is another one who gives him problems.
This is one of the reasons I was a little nervous when Seattle got Percey Harvin!

Oh & my crystal ball says...
49ers 2nd rd pick + LaMicheal James, for Browns Josh Gordon!
Make it happen Baalke!

:D:D:D

no idea why they let him do it he shouldn't cover those speedy slots period.

and yup cruz always toasts him deep. he always needs special help if he's matched up on him.

In other practice news, Matt Barrows is reporting that Mario Manningham looked in good shape at the Wednesday practice. According to Barrows, Jim Harbaugh said it was possible one of the three NFI/PUP guys practicing (Manningham, Tank Carradine, Eric Wright) could be activated this week. There is no guarantee of that, but it is possible. If Manningham gets the activation, Marlon Moore would seem to be the most likely candidate to be released. That would make for an awkward end to the London trip.

getting stronger
