Young chick tries to refuse traffic ticket and situation escalates quickly

The police was wrong on this one...He could have easily put the sheet through the opening, have her signed the citation, and be on his way. The window wasn't tinted so visibility wasn't an issue. She pretty much set his azz up though.Felony charges will be dropped, and campus police will issue an apology.

While I agree with you

This is the part that kills me. It almost seem as though she was on the phone and someone got in her ear.

Think she was recording him, that's when he said I'm recording this as well. That's what probably got him heated.

ib0FeferGu3ODj.JPG

now how could he have not simply put the clipboard through that big of a space have her sign it and get it back without having to reach into the car....

no no no...her window was ALL THE WAY DOWN when they first talked..she rolled it up all the way when he went to run her plates then rolled it down part way after he asked her to roll it down to sign the ticket.

so in this situation you had a full on conversation with the cop with the window FULLY DOWN before he went back to his car...now what do you do??

half way down when he came back.

half way is low enough to put that clipboard in and sign the ticket then take it back.

ib0FeferGu3ODj.JPG

now how could he have not simply put the clipboard through that big of a space have her sign it and get it back without having to reach into the car....

according to bgol, that big ass space is a huge safety issue for that cracka

no way he can put a clipboard through such a large space without injuring himself

She could have easily grab the clipboard also, but her response was "what did I do" after he told her to what she was pulled over for and how much it was gonna cost if she didnt find the registration. If Im suprise the cop didnt think that was suspicious behavior, At 1st u got the window all the way down, and now i gotta ask u roll the window. She was probably on the phone and didn't wont the officer to hear what she was talking about on the phone to whoever she was talking too.

what attitude did she have?:confused: were we watching the same thing? she kept asking questions where was the attitude i missed it...

rolled down initially and then rolled it back up after the officer went back to the car.

officer came back and she rolled down the window half way. what is the difference between half way and all the way down other than the officer being a dick?

She had attitude from when she was first stopped. Go back and look, she basically told the cop she had an appointment to get to. Then whe he asks her to roll down the window she's like "What can I do for you, whats going on?" Really?

Nah I agree with one of the other posters. She was on the phone and some dumbass in her ear was telling her what to do not realizing all the advice was too late to be effective and all it did was make a non situation INTO a situation.

we disagree then. I don't see that as having an attitude. questioning isn't having an attitude. and then you made the leap to its going to get whatever man she's with fucked up which i just couldn't get with that jump.

Was she extremely nice? no.

she came out said it wasn't her car, said she dropped her mother off and had an appointment. also said she didn't know where the registration might be. he left she rolled the window up.. which is what i do when i get pulled over too.

now the window was down all the way at first that can't be denied.

half way down when he came back. all he had to do was stick the clip board to her have her sign it and then go on about their days.

she started asking questions when he insisted that the window is all the way down, to which she replied "why?" which is a fair question, then he says for his safety.. which is a crock of bullshit. her hands were visible the entire time and he didn't have to reach into the car.

and then she continued to question why and then he ordered her out of the car... she was being detained... for not rolling her window all the way down. that's why she was being arrested..

he kept insisting and then risked his life by putting his fingers into the window right? does that make sense?

all of this would be avoided if there wasn't such a complex among officers that they are Gods.

window was half way down. there is no difference between where her window was and having it down all the way he still wouldn't have had to reach into the car for her to sign it.

they are supposed to be trained to handle situation, and this was a minor one, not even minor, he instigated the situation himself.

a lot of the shit couldve been avoided. Most cops.....MOST...usually act like asses toward Black folks. Especially toward Black Men....because a lot of sistas got relationships with the enemy...but thats another discussion. But anyways....."extra shit" is usually what makes situation esculate.
She fucked up because he ordered out of the car.

http://www.nytimes.com/1997/02/20/u...er-people-cars-routine-stops-court-rules.html

"The Supreme Court ruled today that police officers may order passengers out of the cars they stop for routine traffic violations, even in the absence of any reason to suspect that the passenger has committed a crime or presents a threat to the officer's safety.

The 7-to-2 decision, adopting a position long advocated by police organizations, was an extension of a 1977 Supreme Court decision permitting police officers to order the driver out of the car in a routine traffic stop.

''On the public interest side of the balance, the same weighty interest in officer safety is present regardless of whether the occupant of the stopped car is a driver or passenger,'' Chief Justice William H. Rehnquist said in the majority opinion today."

So even if she didn't have to roll the window down, once he told her to get out of the car and she refused, she was done.

this article is almost 20 years old. got something from the 2000's?
A lot of that probable cause stuff has changed over the years.

We can agree to diagree I'm fine with that. However by the complete shift in her actions I think her dumb ass was talking to someone on the phone that was giving her bad advice. To me she started this situation.

Is that the video where they brought the drug dog to the white guy's car? The one at a checkpoint?

In both cases, there wasn't anything wrong with what the drivers did. But cops hate when people know their rights. So he was concerned about his safety, but then had no problem escalating the situation and sticking his hands in the window before he broke it?....... :smh: What about your safety? Just a bitch ass cop. He could have said fuck it and gave her the citation. Since he is the professional, he should act like one.

We now see how these case examples go when you refuse to roll down the window. If the cop wants to be a bitch about it, he can ruin your day. You're definitely going to get an emotional reaction out of the bitches before you get a rational one.

When the other video was posted many months ago, I looked on cop forums to see how some cops handled the window situation. Some cops said they didn't give a fuck as long as they could hear and see the person and didn't smell drugs or alcohol, other cops admitted to breaking windows and even arresting people(apparently in some states people can be arrested for minor traffic violations). Ordering people out of the vehicle seemed to be another option.

Nah it was a few weeks back it was posted. i'm not gonna go look for it...But it was in pittsburgh or some shit? And it was a black cop. And a white dude. Black cop kept asking the white dude to roll down his window. White dude was like i ain't gotta it's just gotta be open enough for you to hand me the ticket...

Black cop gave him the ticket, he gave it back black cop kept trying to get dude to roll down the window. White dude wouldn't do it...

While I agree with you

This is the part that kills me. It almost seem as though she was on the phone and someone got in her ear.

She had a phone. I saw 1 in her hand. I get on the phone whenever i'm pulled over cuz i want somebody to hear and record the shit and hear what's being said. i even repeat everything the cop says word for word so they know.

now... i'll just turn on the video record

ONCE she opened her window ALL THE WAY DOWN the first time, she put herself in a weak position, NO DIFFERENT than trying to invoke your Fifth Amendment rights AFTER incriminating yourself, once you open the jar it is open, PERIOD!

And IF the officer was ONLY handing her a ticket, peeps on the board would be correct about her not rolling the window down, but since he wanted her to sign the ticket, her window HAS TO BE all the way down for the situation to be considered SAFE for the officer concerned, the fact that after being stopped she started NOT COMPLYING with the officer makes her look as though she was trying to hide something, ESPECIALLY considering the fact that she WAS NOT trying to look into the glove compartment within view of the officer, which was her right, of course!

Bullshit. White dude just opened his window a sliver or some shit. Hers was half way open. Dude could've just slipped her the clipboard

JUST LIKE THE BLACK COP DID TO THE WHITE DUDE IN THAT VIDEO A FEW WEEKS BACK.

You're clearly on ur side of protecting the pig. Black female = she's wrong from the jump. So it's useless to point out a single fact to u. Say what u will talk shit what u will. I know it's in mens view for all women to be compliant. And some black people feel the same as whites so it's a double damn whammy for a black woman.

you dont have to stick your hand inside the car

1. she can reach out
2. you can place half of the clipboard in the window

do you know how long a clipboard is?

You are correct, you don't, but she already had the window all the way down for over a minute, the vid starts with the window all the way down, and they actually have a conversation that lasts past the 1:10 mark.

It's YOUR clipboard, which means that it needs to be somewhat under YOUR control @ ALL TIMES, you abdicate this by placing it into the vehicle with the window halfway up. keep in mind that this is a 4 door vehicle which has smaller windows than a 2 door, and I work with clipboards almost every day, so yes, I know how long a clipboard is, lol!

I STILL point out though, the chick f'd up by rolling her window ALL THE WAY DOWN to begin with, the officer was already thinking one kind of way when chick didn't try looking for the registration (glove compartment locked?!?, but again, HER right to do so) and trying to avoid the $114 fine that goes with that, but the fact that she had NO registration, and could NOT show proof that she was duly operating the vehicle, the officer had the right to ask her to step out of the vehicle, peeps are skimming over this!

We can agree to diagree I'm fine with that. However by the complete shift in her actions I think her dumb ass was talking to someone on the phone that was giving her bad advice. To me she started this situation.

could have been after the fact.

i put it on the officer because they're being paid they're trained they are out here to serve and protect supposedly, and should be professional at all times. their emotions should not be a factor in their handling of their job but it is and it's excused.

when he came back and she rolled the window down half way he should have stuck the clipboard in told her to sign it got it back gave her a copy and went on about the rest of his shift. that's what he's paid and supposedly trained to do.

I already said what this was all about. black bitch didn't comply to what he high muckity fuck white man wanted. And he felt he was going to MAKE her.

The cop was wrong. The reason that the cop was wrong in this instance and in most instances is that the cop is supposed to be trained to deal with civilians from all walks of life. The cops job is to know how to diffuse situations. The cop is supposed to be able to accurately assess a threat and to respond accordingly. The cop wasn't effective in either. Thus either the cop wasn't properly trained (cop's fault) or the cop was properly trained yet chose to disregard said training (again cop's fault). In this situation the cop was never at any point in jeopardy. The cop was at no point ever in danger of physical harm. The cop is a campus cop and as such is trained in dealing with the youth in situations. There is nothing in the girls behavior that would suggest that he was justified in escalating the situation in that manner. He was completely in control of the situation from the beginning and could have easily chosen to exercise civility and restraint. He chose not to.

"I forcefully pulled my arm back and broke the window due to the defendant's blatant disregard to all of the orders that were given to her, and her attempt to close the window on my arm," Isaacs wrote in an arrest affidavit.

Now truthfully, many overlooked the the first thing she said to the officer was I just had a miscarriage and am heading to the doctor's office. Now any cop reading this, what is the FIRST thing you are to do when confronting any civilian. Medical emergencies are your first priority as a police officer. Even if you have to take a leak or shit, is a priority before anything.

Why did he not ask her about that nor pay any attention to her medical emergency? He never at once asked her anything about that.

I'm on the side of common sense.

Are cops racist & heavy-handed, SURE, so if we know that they are, why give them reasons to be?!?

This chick had her window ALL THE WAY DOWN for @ least the first minute & a half of their encounter, the vid starts with her window down, when he came back she seemingly played a game of being coy with the officer, having him ask her 3 times to roll her window down, she also asked him 3 times as to why she should have to roll it all the way down, to which he replied 3 times, yet she STILL asked again & again, @ which point she crosses over into non-compliance, keep in mind that @ this time she HAS NOT PRODUCED the registration for the vehicle, which is required, by law.

Think she was recording him, that's when he said I'm recording this as well. That's what probably got him heated.

I caught that. But she seems extra cautious when he came back. Also there was a jump in the video...not sure what happened there.

Like I said, both in the wrong.

Understandable, but let's keep it real, people lie all the time, IF her situation were that bad, exactly WHY was she driving, and further, why would she drop her own Mother OFF first, if she were truly confronting a medical emergency, wouldn't her Mother be with her, driving the car?!?

And I FULLY co-sign with what you said earlier when dealing with cops.

We can argue all day who was right or wrong...

We can argue all day whether what the cop did was legal/illegal...

We can argue all day about her rights as a citizen and whether they were violated or not...

The side of the road is NOT the place to make this argument, cops will make up any charges they want, people have been shot for trying to argue with an officer on the side of the road, is not worth it, we have to be smarter than that.

I already said what this was all about. black bitch didn't comply to what he high muckity fuck white man wanted. And he felt he was going to MAKE her.

Riigggghhhttttt!

The cop was trying to impose his will upon her by making her do something THAT SHE ALREADY DID!!!:smh:

Chick had a minimum of 3 infractions, (taillight, unsafe lane change, no registration) and ALREADY had her window all the way down, she was getting BAD advice over the phone, plain & simple, if she stayed in the lane she was in when she was first pulled over, she goes home with an equipment infraction that is easily thrown out when the light is fixed, now the chick has to pay for a lawyer, and the cop gets o/t for going to court!

Typical BGOL logic being used here, I can be inconsistent and people will respect me, but I will end up in jail because of it!!!:smh:

Of course she was probably lying. But she could add fight to her case by saying he didn't attend to her medical condition at the moment.

Many a times, I've had to take a person, while under arrest, to the hospital first, or at least looked at medically, (of course an EMT can't look at a woman for a miscarriage), but for cuts, wounds, whatever visible, unless needed to be seen by a physician, that takes priority to anything. The officer showed insensitivity to that cause he never asked her about it.

What is this Simon says? A cop tells you to jump you gonna say how high?

oh I see...when a cop says? could you please roll your window down all the way ma'am..

you hear: DO AS I SAY ****** OR I'LL WHIP YOUR BLACK ASS!

see.. the problem there is YOU..

5 months ago i got pulled over for the SAME DAMN THING. White cop comes to my window, I roll it down ALL THE WAY and

I ask: "Yes, officer, what seems to be the problem?"

He said: Your break light is out.

I said: I had no clue.

He said: Can I see your registration?

It was not my car, but I knew where the insurance and registration were. so I hand it to him.

He said: I am going to run this info, hold a second.

I said: (with my hand on the steering wheel and the engine off) NO problem.

He said (10 minutes later): there are no other infractions so I am not going to give you a ticket. Here is service ticket. You have 10 days to either take this to an inspection shop to affirm you had the work done or get a cop in your city to give their badge # and ID to confirm the light is fixed. No penalty.

I said: That's it? no fine at all.

He said: Nope. Have a good day.

took 20 minutes of my day and it was over.

open question:

HOW WOULD YOU HAVE HANDLED THAT SITUATION FROM BEGINNING TO END

and if your answer is ANYTHING different from "the same way she did" shut the fuck up:hmm::hmm:

Would YOU have behaved like that cop did and made up charges that were clearly a lie? If your answer is ANYTHING different from "the same way he did" shut the fuck up:hmm::hmm:

Look man, when you riding with a broken taillight and no registration, it's not the time to play cute.

If you know your shit is broken and there's no registration, just sign for the shit and plan your defense.

With all of our people that get pulled over for no reason and get bogus charges put on them or worse, imagine how many of them wish all they had to do was roll down a window, sign for the ticket and go home.

I'll save my sympathy and outrage for people that didn't have an easy way out.

No matter what anyone says, all she had to do was leave her fucking window where it was, and go home. Literally.

As a Black person, if you are going to make a legal stand, you know we have to make sure all our shit is straight. You can't be guilty of everything on a ticket then try to pull some shit man.

Fuck the cop. I don't care about him. I just would like for young black people to make it home with as little bullshit as possible.

it makes no sense. the sad part is A LOT of people that spit hat militant BS, to some degree, will actually act it out like this dumb A$$ broad - FOR WHAT?!?!? To say you are not a punk or show the dude up?:smh::smh::smh::smh::smh::smh::smh:

Pride comes before destruction and a fall. it's not about half a window, its not about fear, this chick was clearly ANNOYED that she got pulled over. That is clearly displayed. No one reviewing that tape is going to give her the benefit. Hell, most of the cops that i know casually say THEY USUALLY LET CHICKS OFF anyway depending how cute they are. This is AFTER they pull them over not knowing who is driving first. Embarrassed, arrested, she has to pay for the damages to her moms car AND, on op of all that...she missed her important appointment...:smh:.................dumba$$
