Ninja Theory’s take on the Devil May Cry franchise is getting a re-release on PS4 and Xbox One.

DmC: Definitive Edition will be released on PS4 on March 17th priced at just £29.99.
As well as running in 1080p and 60fps, the game also has updated textures, characters, skins and cinematics and includes all post-release DLC. There’s also a new turbo mode, which speeds things up by 20 per cent, and a Hardcore gameplay mode that makes ranking up harder and more closely resembles previous releases in the series.

There’s also manual target lock, two additional difficulty modes, a new cutscene and a whole host of sweeping tweaks and balance changes.

“DmC: Definitive Edition does what is says in its name,” the studio’s product development manager Dominic Matthews said. “We’ve revisited DmC: Devil May Cry and improved, optimised and added to the game.

“When creating the original DmC there were improvements that we wanted to make, but never got the chance to. In DmC Definitive Edition we have made those improvements.

“We’ve taken on-board player feedback and implemented many of the most requested features. In addition, we’ve given DmC a full next-gen make over, with up-rezzed graphics and a silky smooth running speed of 60fps at 1080p. DmC Definitive Edition also comes bundled with all released DLC and a host of new modes.”

Is KI like Soul Caliber used to be where you unlock things as you progress through the game or do you have to buy everything?

I'm waiting on the UPS guy right now waiting on my system to be delivered.

CD Projekt Red has finally announced the other playable character in The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt as Ciri. The announcement comes after a tease at the inaugural Game Awards. It was recently revealed that the game will be delayed into 2015.

In the fiction of the Witcher universe the main character Geralt is a kind of father-figure for Ciri, who he has trained up in some of the skills of monster hunting he specializes in. In a press released issued today Ciri is described as "a descendent in a long-lost Elven-blood lineage... a powerful, living weapon capable of both healing and destroying the world." She has long been known to be the object of the game's great evil, known as the Wild Hunt.

"CD Projekt Red decided that introducing another character and telling parts of the story from her perspective would greatly benefit the overall experience," CD Projekt said in the release.

The company has alluded to the fact that they are very interested in the longevity of the Witcher franchise, calling it too important to the future of the company to allow it to die off. They've also said that Witcher 3 will be the last game to center on Geralt, while hinting at a new protagonist to come in future games.

Though Assassin’s Creed Unity has had an infamous legacy this holiday season with its numerous glitches and bugs (and horrifying no-face monsters), those playing it have still managed to dig into a worthwhile Assassin’s Creed title as our own Giuseppe Nelva reviewed the title positively, and now you can grab the latest title in the long-running adventure series for half the price, thanks to Amazon.

Over on Amazon’s Gold Box Deals for today, December 15th, Assassin’s Creed Unity is one of the online retailer’s featured deals, with all three of the game’s versions at a 50% discount off the usual price tag, leaving you with a $29.99 price for either the PS4, Xbox One, and PC versions, along with the option of a digital download code for PC as well.

Assassin’s Creed Unity is available now on PS4, Xbox One, and PC – you can nab up a discounted copy of Unity by clicking here, until the deal runs for today only.

A new report has claimed Microsoft is working on a game streaming technology of its own and it's codenamed Arcadia.

Mary Jo Foley, a respected reporter on all things Microsoft for ZDNet, claims the new Arcadia team is building a streaming app and game service.

The Arcadia team is based inside Microsoft's Operating Systems Group, with the tech replacing the discontinued Rio game-streaming technology the company demonstrated back in September 2013.

Arcadia, which is built on Microsoft's Azure cloud, may be a reference to the planet of the same name in the Halo universe (Arcadia is a United Earth Government Colony). Or, it could be a reference to the Arcadia region in Greece. Or it could reference something else entirely.

Backing up the rumour is a Microsoft job post for a senior software engineer that mentions the Arcadia codename.

Microsoft has been looking at cloud gaming for some time. In August 2014 Microsoft Research published a note about a project it called DeLorean (later renamed Outatime because the DeLorean Motor Company owns the DeLorean trademark). This work explored ways to enable low-latency cloud gaming.

Then, in September, Neowin reported that Microsoft was testing making Xbox games playable in a browser - Xbox One games included.

Sony has already brought its game streaming technology to market, following its $380m purchase of Gaikai.

Gaikai powers Remote Play, which lets you play PlayStation 4 games using a Vita over the internet, and cloud-gaming service PlayStation Now.

Mary Jo Foley speculates that Microsoft's Windows 10 reveal event on 21st January 2015 may come too soon for an unveiling of Arcadia, despite Xbox boss Phil Spencer being down to deliver a talk about gaming on Windows. She suggests it's a "post-Windows 10 deliverable", with the operating system due out autumn 2015.

According to the latest announcement from Xbox One’s Preview Program, participants will get 10 days of early access to 343 Industries’ upcoming Halo 5: Guardians multiplayer beta.

Launching publicly on December 29, that means Xbox One Preview members will be able to download the beta and hop on servers starting tomorrow, December 19. The announcement reads that early access will end on December 21, however, so you’ll need to get in some game time this weekend if you want to get a head start.

The early access period will also only offer content from Week 1 of the Halo 5: Guardians beta, whereas the full version will offer seven maps and three game modes over the course of three weeks from December 29 to January 18.

That Minecraft money.

rri7q1eovnzaqhpl5b9p.jpg

In case you needed a material transaction to illustrate just how much money Markus Persson, aka Notch, has having sold Mojang (and Minecraft) to Microsoft, take a look at this: the dude just paid $70 million (and maybe beat out Beyonce & Jay-Z) to buy the most expensive house in Beverly Hills.

The John Aaroe Group just announced the sale, at a record (for Beverly Hills) $70 million. If you want to know what kind of a business deal that is, read this, from the agent's press release:

Persson's purchase included everything in the house from luxury furnishings to exotic electronics such as the automated 54–foot curved glass door in the living room that opens onto an infinity pool with iPad-controlled fountains and spectacular views. Cases of Dom Perignon were part of the deal.

rmadgpsgoogjvecxd5nu.jpg

The house is 23,000 square-feet, and features:

...vodka and tequila bars, a candy room, an 18-seat tiered screening room, a state-of-the-art kitchen and an exquisite 18-foot onyx dining room table for 24 that includes place settings by Roberto Cavalli at a cost of $3,700 each. Three high-definition 90-inch television screens bring panoramic views of Los Angeles from the roof into the down stairs lounge – especially breathtaking at night, says De Los Reyes. Art pieces include a replica of James Dean's motorcycle and a chromed Ma Deuce machine gun. On a conventional note, the home has eight bedrooms and 15 bathrooms all equipped with Toto Neorest toilets at a price of $5,600 each.

It's unclear yet whether Persson intends to demolish the house and turn it into a bunch of giant cubes.

<iframe src="//player.vimeo.com/video/102897742" webkitallowfullscreen="" mozallowfullscreen="" allowfullscreen="" frameborder="0" height="281" width="500"></iframe>

And here's a tweet Persson sent out earlier today, showing him chillin' in his new digs.

<blockquote class="twitter-tweet" lang="en"><p><a href="http://t.co/umDb1p5Se2">pic.twitter.com/umDb1p5Se2</a></p>&mdash; Markus Persson (@notch) <a href="https://twitter.com/notch/status/545729155359207426">December 18, 2014</a></blockquote>
