I'm streaming videos from my PC tablet in an attempt to get rid of my PS3 (plex charges $4.99 :smh:) and it's worked out fine...just curious to now if I can stream from an ipad as well...gonna mess around and use an app called imediashare to see if it works but if anyone knows the deal clue me in...thanks :cool:

Just in time for many of you to think "dammit, I should have waited," Best Buy is running a fantastic sale for the Xbox One.

The retailer is selling the Xbox One Unity Bundle, which comes with both Assassin's Creed Unity and Assassin's Creed: Black Flag, along with a copy of Destiny and a $50 Best Buy gift card for $350.

If one were to break out all of those games and the gift card, that means the Xbox One is selling for about $130 on its own when you pay full retail for the other stuff. Sure, it's not a real-world number, but it's still a great way to break down what a good deal this particular sale is.

You probably know by now that being an Xbox Live Gold member gets you free games every month. You may have seen by now that some really cool stuff has been given away totally free as a result of this program. But January 2015 really, really takes the cake so far.

Three fantastic games across Xbox One and Xbox 360 will make sure you start your New Year off right. Xbox One gets the critically acclaimed indie adventure game D4: Dark Dreams Don’t Die (or D4 for short), while Xbox 360 gets off-road racer MX vs. ATV Alive, and the epic role-playing game The Witcher 2: Assassins of Kings.As usual, all games are available only for a limited time, as part of the ongoing Games with Gold program – so find a buddy (or not), and jump in!

D4 is the brainchild of legendary Japanese designer Swery (real name: Hidetaka Suehiro), the mind behind the fantastic Deadly Premonition. You play David Young, a detective whose wife has been murdered. David suffers from a strange syndrome as a result of the murder: He can’t remember the past, but he can travel through time. He uses this ability to go back and find out the truth behind his wife’s death so he can try to prevent it. But, along the way, his bizarre powers get augmented (and sometimes impeded) by an equally bizarre cast of characters. The puzzles will leave you scratching your head (in a good way) for a while, but the story and unique cel-shaded graphics will keep you glued to the screen.

And on Xbox 360, you can start the year shredding up the muddy tracks of MX vs. ATV Alive. Whether it’s track racing on motocross or supercross, or just tearing up the off-road freestyle events, MX vs. ATV Alive gives you tons of options for getting your wheels in the dirt. You can race on dirt bikes or on the titular four-wheel ATVs, each with their own physical feel and control style. And, when you’re done breaking all the records that the A.I. has set, you can race against your friends and spray mud all over their television sets in your wake (virtually, of course).

In the latter half of the month, you’ll get another special Xbox 360 treat: the massive, combat and story-filled RPG The Witcher 2: Assassins of Kings. Don’t worry if you haven’t played the first one; The Witcher 2 is filled with backstory, deep characters, and plenty of side-quests that will educate you on the nature of the world and the goings-on therein. More importantly, though, The Witcher 2 is an incredibly in-depth game, offering potentially hundreds of hours of gameplay, oodles of character customization options, and countless weapons, armor pieces, and other loot – not to mention a comprehensive crafting system if the pre-made stuff doesn’t suit your tastes. The Witcher 2 takes place in a vibrant, living world, where your decisions have far-reaching consequences.

New loot is up for grabs in Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare‘s multiplayer this week.
Players logging in and playing between today and Friday, December 26 at 9AM Pacific, will get the chance to unlock a piece of the brand new KVA Paramilitary character gear set.

Here’s an early Christmas present: The Walking Dead Seasons 1 and 2, The Wolf Among Us, Tales from the Borderlands and Game of Thrones, all bundled together for just $55 or £35. That’s the cut-down, half-price offer available to Gold members on Xbox One, courtesy of the new Telltale Games Collection. If you’ve yet to wrack your nerves over the agonizing, split-second choices of Telltale’s recent adventure games, that’s a decent price for 5 seasons and 26 episodes of content spanning 4 very different adaptations.

In terms of what you can download and play today, the bundle includes all the episodes from the first season of The Wolf Among Us, the complete first and second seasons of The Walking Dead, and the debut episodes of Tales from the Borderlands and Game of Thrones. Like the rest of us you’ll have to wait for the remaining episodes of those last two series, but they are covered by the season passes that come with the bundle.

While it’s not exactly Sophie’s Choice, you may be wondering whether to take the plunge on Xbox One or wait for the Collection to hit other systems. Telltale’s said nada about the bundle coming to other platforms, but we’ve reached out to see if the studio will spill the beans.

might fuck w/ child of light...played the demo on PS3...it's fun flying and exploring the world but I hate the RPG "take turns" combat system...it's just $7 tho...might chance it

ya just watched the review on gametrailers...they talked about the combat system getting in the way too...I'm pass on it...I passed on outlast...can't fuck w/ horror games lol

I wanna take a chance on watch dogs but not @ the current price...wish there was a demo for it

You probably heard about Sony Pictures’ flick The Interview, held back from its debut due to a hacking attack and following threats to movie goers. The movie is now coming out in theaters and digitally, and it’s also going to appear Xbox Video.
Microsoft Executive Vice President of Legal and Corporate Affairs was very clear in expressing the reasons behind the move:
As has been widely reported, Sony was the victim of a sophisticated cyber-attack with the intent of preventing the distribution of this film. Despite the effort to block this movie, it will now be shown in many theaters and will be available online. This is good news. A cyber-attack on anyone’s rights is a cyber-attack on everyone’s rights, and together we need to defend against it.

In the United States, freedom of expression is a fundamental principle that is protected by law. Our Constitution guarantees for each person the right to decide what books to read, what movies to watch, and even what games to play. In the 21<sup>st</sup> Century, there is no more important place for that right to be exercised than on the Internet. After substantial thought, we decided to stand up with Sony and work with others to ensure that freedom of expression triumphs over cyber-terrorism.

We of course appreciate that there are varied views regarding this film. That’s true of many works and many issues. We’re not endorsing this movie or any other. We are supporting the Constitutional right of free expression, and we hope that by acting together, we will help deter other attacks.

Sony Entertainment CEO Michael Lynton also commented in a press release:
We never stopped pursuing as wide a release as possible for The Interview. It was essential for our studio to release this movie, especially given the assault upon our business and our employees by those who wanted to stop free speech. Owners of Xbox One fans RETROGAMING, especially the original Killer Instinct will tonight an update that will change the possibilities offered by the game.

Iron Galaxy Studios, the developers of the Killer Instinct of the Xbox One, has announced that as a Christmas gift, Killer Instinct Classic owners (i.e. the arcade version of the original Killer Instinct) will receive an update of their game that night.

And not just any which update since the latter will bring online multiplayer to the famous game from Rare.

According to Iron Galaxy, this update should arrive on thenight of Tuesday to Wednesday around 3 o'clock in the morning, GMT . These are the fans of the game warned.
 

Microsoft has recently announced that those users who have been experiencing Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare on the Xbox 360 en route to enjoying their swanky Xbox One on Christmas Day can upgrade their digital copy of the game to the Xbox One version.

If you upgrade your digital version of Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare on the Xbox 360 before March 31st 2015, not only will you be able to carry over all DLC and progress but you won’t be charged anything whatsoever. It’s also worth noting that you can upgrade all downloadable content forever, which seems to indicate that those who pick up the Season Pass for Xbox 360 can carry it over to the Xbox One version without issues.

You gotta install all games because if the game ran from the disc, it wouldn't be able to keep up with graphics and the framerate and all that shit.

ultimately you can unless you're playing destiny or titanfall

just make your xbox your "home" xbox and you will be able to play any games digital/hard copy that you've installed...if it's a physical copy you should be able to install and play it w/o being online as far as I know...if you're dl'ing it online then obviously you won't be able to do anything if online is shutdown but once you've dl'ed the game you can play it whenever...someone posted a comprehensive list of why you can do offline vs. online in this thread...I'll see if I can find it and repost it

if you're trying to play multiplayer then that goes w/o saying...but if you're just looking to play the campaign I can't see why it wouldn't let you play offline if you've already installed the game
