I seen that IGN gave Madden an 8.7, I'm thinking about getting it only because they don't make NCAA Football anymore. Any other reviews out there on Madden yet?

• Season Simulations Test (GoodGameBro)
GGBro has a lot of great articles up today delving deep into Madden NFL 15, and I liked this one in particular. Five times the first season of Madden NFL 15 was simmed, and the results are quite interesting, particularly in the player stats. QBs seem to be a bit nerfed in production, while power backs appear to reign supreme. Keep in mind that playbooks can also cause these results, as it’s possible a fantastic player simply doesn’t have a great play choice as far as the sim engine is concerned (helps explain why Adrian Peterson only cracked the top five twice).
• Attention to Details (GoodGameBro)
Continuing on with the interesting articles, GoodGameBro offered some detailed insight into everything from the new stadiums and video boards in this year’s game, to the tattoos on Colin Kaepernick. If you’re a big fan of presentation stuff, then this is a very good article that’s worth checking out.
• Madden 15 Trial Access Begins Today (OperationSports)
If you bought EA Access, your 6-hour Madden 15 trial starts today at 12 PM EST. There’s been quite a bit of controversy over the trial period restrictions, however if you’re a Madden fan it’s still hard to pass up considering the rest of the value provided by EA Access. I’ll be checking it out this afternoon as well.

The networks were taken offline due to a distributed denial of service attack. We have seen no evidence of any intrusion to the network and no evidence of any unauthorized access to users' personal information.
In light of today's issue, the networks will not undergo the regularly scheduled maintenance, which was planned for Monday, August 25. We will provide an update shortly for when the maintenance will be rescheduled.

Cooperative multiplayer is coming to Dragon Age: Inquisition, and the four-player adventure isn’t as close to Mass Effect 3’s online mode as you might expect. Both share qualities, particularly in their economies, but in almost every instance, Inquisition’s levels, characters, and economy are significantly deeper.
Inquisition’s story is an enormous, 200 hour commitment for completists, so BioWare wants multiplayer to work in short 20-30 minute bursts. Each of the three multiplayer campaigns available at launch randomly generates a large level comprised of smaller sections. you’ll fight through five of 10 pre-designed areas in one go, each with distinct variables. Next time, you may see the same stage in a new spot, or an entirely different collection of arenas entirely, all with different enemy encounters, ideally making multiplayer missions replayable indefinitely.
In my first run through the Elven Ruins, my team fought through a graveyard full of (shared) gold hidden behind doors only accessible by mages. The next time through, the graveyard was replaced by something else, with destructible walls only breakable by the brutish kick of a warrior one of us may or may not have decided to play. In addition to these Elven Ruins, Inquisition’s multiplayer visits Tevinter and an Orlesian Palace, with more locations to come.
BioWare’s Scylla Costa told IGN that he hopes fans “commit to a multiplayer service. That means lots of DLC, lots of new heroes and levels.” Service? Fortunately, BioWare isn’t planning any sort of subscription or premium plan for additional multiplayer content. Costa said, “It’s all free DLC for everyone.”
Missions have a loose connection to the campaign, but the signature BioWare storytelling is reserved for single-player. “The campaign is a story about you, and your growth, and your Inquisition,” Creative Director Mike Laidlaw said, so there’s little room for dialogue wheels in a group setting.
Multiplayer runs sort of parallel to the Inquisitor’s story -- you’re working for the Inquisitor, running behind-the-scenes Operations with a squad. “One of the things that came out of early explorations is that we wanted the multiplayer characters to be characters,” Laidlaw said. BioWare didn’t want templatized, boring heroes lacking personalities. “They’re kind of like mini followers, and they banter among themselves.”
Single-player is aiming for a smart marriage of narrative and gameplay systems. Multiplayer is pure, meant to attract role-playing junkies with a passion for loot, combat, and team-based battles in the gorgeous, brutal world of Dragon Age. After completing a multiplayer quest, you’ll take home your found gold to spend on treasure chests, which include items such as item recipes, new equipment, potions, grenades, and salves of varying rarity. Some may even unlock a new hero or character skin. Nine heroes join Dragon Age: Inquisition’s multiplayer roster at launch -- three for each mage/melee/archer class, each unique in their appearance, abilities, and characterization.
If you’d rather not grind, you can purchase Platinum, which is an “optional time saver” currency. “Nothing is behind a paywall,” Costa said. “We will never sell you an item.”
Like League of Legends’ business model, you’ll have to play plenty to earn enough for a prize, or you can pay outright to accelerate your unlocks.
It’s handled intelligently. I played a support mage at first, but after unlocking a two-handed hammer for the Reaver class, I switched over to a brand new level-one character and started from scratch. Characters I focused on leveled pretty rapidly, allowing me to add new skills from the set of each character’s two separate skill trees (each with approximately 20 skills).
I broke down bows and knives I wasn’t using, and used the materials to craft a new pommel upgrade for my hammer, increasing its damage, and built a fancy new set of armor. I always had something in mind for my heroes, whether I planned on playing him next, or wanted to eventually try a level with her.
It’s a satisfying loop that preys on role-playing junkies’ obsessions with more, more, more, and rewards them for it in turn. Feeding into that is the weekly Operations and Prestige objectives. Personal Prestige accomplishments include killing 25 of a certain enemy, and smaller tasks like that, which unlock new character icons, banners, and other cosmetics. Operations, though, work globally, with the entire Inquisition player-base working toward a communal goal, such as slaying 1 million demons by a deadline.
We never got around to increasing the difficulty, which is recommended for higher-level players only, but the default was challenging enough that my crew didn’t complete an entire mission. When an ally goes down for good, enemies get stronger.
Multiplayer is tough.
The real-time combat doesn’t allow for Inquisition’s tactical camera, but instead requires careful coordination of magical buffs, timely heals, area-of-effect slows, damage-over-time grenades, and ranged-fire coverage as broadsword-wielding fighters assault enemies in an area.
We weren’t great about that, and we paid for it. The quicker we lost, the less gold we earned -- and the more motivated we became to try again.

Shuffled back
Ubisoft has confirmed that Assassin's Creed Unity has been delayed on all platforms, until November.
The game was scheduled to release on October 28th, but has been pushed back until November 11th in the US, and November 13th in Europe and other territories.
Vincent Pontbriand, senior producer at Ubisoft, said: "As we got close to the finish, we realized we were near the target but still needed a bit more time to hone some of the details to make sure Assassin’s Creed Unity is exceptional. We sincerely appreciate players’ commitment to the game and their patience. It’s just a couple more weeks. And it’s going to be worth it.”
The last-gen title Assassin's Creed Rogue is also affected a little. The game was due to launch worldwide on November 11th, but will now launch on November 13th alongside Unity in Europe. It'll still launch on the 11th in the US.
Of course, this means that the game no longer launches on the same day as Sunset Overdrive. Instead, it runs smack-bang into the face of Halo: The Master Chief Collection. Ouch!
Coming up in September, Xbox Live Gold members can look forward to three new free games on Xbox One and Xbox 360. Super Time Force is coming to Games with Gold on Xbox One as a free download, replacing Strike Suit Zero (so grab it now if you haven’t already). Crimson Dragon will continue to be available for Xbox Live Gold members as a free download for Xbox One.
On Xbox 360, starting Monday, September 1st, Monaco: What’s Yours is Mine (normally US $14.99) will be free for Xbox Live Gold members through September 15th.

- The score is now shown in the center of the screen at the end of each Last Titan Standing round.
- New HUD Icons for team Titan counts and players using Burn Cards have been added. Last Titan Standing now shows the number of Pilots left alive on each team.
- New voiceover for Round Won and Round Lost events as well as noting whether the gap between the teams’ scores is increasing or decreasing.
- Titans no longer show up on the minimap when they dash.
- Atlas and Stryder melee damage values have been switched to mirror their original design intent. The Titan melee damage order is now: Stryder, Atlas, Ogre from least to most. This is also consistent with the hierarchy of damage for the Big Punch mod.
- To stem the influx of Burn Cards at higher levels, the Bonus XP-to-Credits conversion rate for max level players has been adjusted.
- As part of the pan-galactic stimulus package, credits for selling rare Burn Cards have been increased from 200 to 400.
- For the Black Market we slightly reduced the chance to get rare cards in the Standard Pack, and increased the number of rare cards in the Premium Pack from 4 to 5.
- The Auto-Titan vortex effect should no longer orient incorrectly.
- Fixed the shotgun, vortex fireback, and arc cannon bypassing Titan shields when used against a Pilot doing a friendly rodeo.
- The map Export no longer contains areas where you can shoot through covered windows.
- Grenades should now be better at predicting their movement at high frame rates.
- Fixed a rare crash bug on Demeter in Campaign mode.
- Fixed issue where a user couldn't sign in to Titanfall if there is a second account on the system which has access to Titanfall DLC content which the first user doesn't.
- Fixed incorrect leave game dialog behavior when in a party.
- Connecting a SmartGlass device to the X1 while Titanfall is running should no longer cause a crash.
- You should no longer be able to get behind walls when rodeoing a Titan that is ejecting on Relic.
- Titan OS no longer says that you are being attacked by an Enemy Pilot when you are inside an enemy Dome Shield.
- Fixed incorrect leave game dialog behavior when in a party.

Cooperative multiplayer is coming to Dragon Age: Inquisition, and the four-player adventure isn’t as close to Mass Effect 3’s online mode as you might expect. Both share qualities, particularly in their economies, but in almost every instance, Inquisition’s levels, characters, and economy are significantly deeper.
Inquisition’s story is an enormous, 200 hour commitment for completists, so BioWare wants multiplayer to work in short 20-30 minute bursts. Each of the three multiplayer campaigns available at launch randomly generates a large level comprised of smaller sections. you’ll fight through five of 10 pre-designed areas in one go, each with distinct variables. Next time, you may see the same stage in a new spot, or an entirely different collection of arenas entirely, all with different enemy encounters, ideally making multiplayer missions replayable indefinitely.
In my first run through the Elven Ruins, my team fought through a graveyard full of (shared) gold hidden behind doors only accessible by mages. The next time through, the graveyard was replaced by something else, with destructible walls only breakable by the brutish kick of a warrior one of us may or may not have decided to play. In addition to these Elven Ruins, Inquisition’s multiplayer visits Tevinter and an Orlesian Palace, with more locations to come.
BioWare’s Scylla Costa told IGN that he hopes fans “commit to a multiplayer service. That means lots of DLC, lots of new heroes and levels.” Service? Fortunately, BioWare isn’t planning any sort of subscription or premium plan for additional multiplayer content. Costa said, “It’s all free DLC for everyone.”
Missions have a loose connection to the campaign, but the signature BioWare storytelling is reserved for single-player. “The campaign is a story about you, and your growth, and your Inquisition,” Creative Director Mike Laidlaw said, so there’s little room for dialogue wheels in a group setting.
Multiplayer runs sort of parallel to the Inquisitor’s story -- you’re working for the Inquisitor, running behind-the-scenes Operations with a squad. “One of the things that came out of early explorations is that we wanted the multiplayer characters to be characters,” Laidlaw said. BioWare didn’t want templatized, boring heroes lacking personalities. “They’re kind of like mini followers, and they banter among themselves.”
Single-player is aiming for a smart marriage of narrative and gameplay systems. Multiplayer is pure, meant to attract role-playing junkies with a passion for loot, combat, and team-based battles in the gorgeous, brutal world of Dragon Age. After completing a multiplayer quest, you’ll take home your found gold to spend on treasure chests, which include items such as item recipes, new equipment, potions, grenades, and salves of varying rarity. Some may even unlock a new hero or character skin. Nine heroes join Dragon Age: Inquisition’s multiplayer roster at launch -- three for each mage/melee/archer class, each unique in their appearance, abilities, and characterization.
If you’d rather not grind, you can purchase Platinum, which is an “optional time saver” currency. “Nothing is behind a paywall,” Costa said. “We will never sell you an item.”
Like League of Legends’ business model, you’ll have to play plenty to earn enough for a prize, or you can pay outright to accelerate your unlocks.
It’s handled intelligently. I played a support mage at first, but after unlocking a two-handed hammer for the Reaver class, I switched over to a brand new level-one character and started from scratch. Characters I focused on leveled pretty rapidly, allowing me to add new skills from the set of each character’s two separate skill trees (each with approximately 20 skills).
I broke down bows and knives I wasn’t using, and used the materials to craft a new pommel upgrade for my hammer, increasing its damage, and built a fancy new set of armor. I always had something in mind for my heroes, whether I planned on playing him next, or wanted to eventually try a level with her.
It’s a satisfying loop that preys on role-playing junkies’ obsessions with more, more, more, and rewards them for it in turn. Feeding into that is the weekly Operations and Prestige objectives. Personal Prestige accomplishments include killing 25 of a certain enemy, and smaller tasks like that, which unlock new character icons, banners, and other cosmetics. Operations, though, work globally, with the entire Inquisition player-base working toward a communal goal, such as slaying 1 million demons by a deadline.
We never got around to increasing the difficulty, which is recommended for higher-level players only, but the default was challenging enough that my crew didn’t complete an entire mission. When an ally goes down for good, enemies get stronger.
Multiplayer is tough.
The real-time combat doesn’t allow for Inquisition’s tactical camera, but instead requires careful coordination of magical buffs, timely heals, area-of-effect slows, damage-over-time grenades, and ranged-fire coverage as broadsword-wielding fighters assault enemies in an area.
We weren’t great about that, and we paid for it. The quicker we lost, the less gold we earned -- and the more motivated we became to try again.

Today, we will begin rolling out new features and updates to Xbox One for fans all over the world. These updates include new ways to bring your personal media to your Xbox, updates to the party system, more ways to interact with your Xbox, and new social features for Xbox SmartGlass. We highlighted some of these new features earlier this month at gamescom, and based on continuous fan feedback, we’re pleased to announce the list of the features rolling out to Xbox One systems over the next few days:
- A new Media Player app: Play media files from an attached USB device with the new media player app – DNLA support for home media servers coming soon. Xbox One will support more formats than Xbox 360, including support for dozens of new file formats like Mpeg 2 TS, animated gifs and MKV, which will be added by the end of the year.
- Party on in the new and improved Party App: Be the leader of your party with the new party leader setting. As the party leader, you can change whether the party requires invitations and you can remove others from the party. The updated app also lets you see what activities everyone in your party is doing and who is playing in the same game with you in addition to being able to quickly perform common actions like muting, joining, or sending game invites.
- New features for SmartGlass: You can now post status messages from the Activity Feed and comments, or share items from both your Activity Feed and Game Clips. Along with the new comment and share features, a personalized Activity Feed has been added to your profile and messages have been updated to a new layout supporting a full conversation view. Additionally, we are adding the ability to record game clips directly from the Now Playing bar. Finally, for users who upgrade the app directly, we have introduced a What’s New page highlighting the features of each release.
- “Xbox On” capabilities in Australia, Canada (French), Italy, Spain, and Mexico: New regions will have the ability to use the “Xbox On” Kinect voice command to power on their consoles when they’re in connected standby (Instant On) mode.
- OneGuide comes to Brazil, Mexico, Austria, and Ireland: The ability to configure live TV listings will be available to all customers in these four countries. Also coming to these markets is the ability to use OneGuide and the Universal Remote Control in SmartGlass.
- Boot to TV: Now Xbox One owners will be able to set their console to boot directly to television when coming out of connected standby.
- Bandwidth Usage Display: Bandwidth Usage will show users how much bandwidth their Xbox One is consuming over a period of time, a useful tool for those who want to track against bandwidth caps set by ISPs in certain markets.
- GameDVR deletes: Users will be able to choose multiple GameDVR clips to delete at once in the Upload app.
- Save your Avatar Gamerpic: A new option to save Avatar Gamerpics to users’ OneDrive.
