Xbox One Console Reviews

Went back and played some Sunset Overdrive. Its a shame that game didn't sell well enough to warrant a sequel. It they add a battle royal type mode where multiple players traverse around the map looking for new creative weapons while keeping npc's enemies around the map to use for power ups it could be a hit. It definitely deserves another shot.
Love that game

Batman Arkham developer Rocksteady job listings hint at a "highly anticipated AAA" for next gen
Is it a bird? Is it a plane?

Rocksteady Studios is looking for new staff to help it launch "a highly anticipated upcoming AAA title".

The 20+ job listings (thanks,ResetEra) at the UK studio cover a whole range of disciplines, including coding, scriptwriting, and community management, and all make reference to a presently unannounced AAA title that will be available on "next generation platforms".

While some are permanent positions, some are "2+ years", and others are for a fixed two year period, which perhaps - maybe? - is indicative of an approximate, if tentative, window of release.

According to the advertisement forLead Animator, the studio is striving for a "90+ Metacritic" score.

Some positions additionally ask for a "broad knowledge of comics, novels, games, cinema, and popular culture relating to video games" with the studio acknowledging its collaborative partnership with Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment.

Rumour has it Rocksteady is busy at work on a new Superman game, although right now that's all it is - a rumour. But given the fixed-term contracts and information about the anticipated platform, it would seem we don't have too long to wait for an announcement of the game, or even confirmation of just what the "next generation platform" may be.

It has the potential to be a great game but at $50 save your money or wait to see how it progresses in the next game.

6/10

Positives
  • Finally an open world, tuning culture street racing game is out there
  • City is full long roads, so you can really floor it and get a sense of speed
  • The handling is typical arcade style with plenty of sliding and drifting
  • The crashes are amazing
Negativs
  • The city is not all that active.
  • No licensed cars
  • No cockpit view
  • No wheel support
There is plenty of potential here, this game really takes it's cues from the street racing games of the early 2000s. There are no licensed cars but the cars do look like many real life cars, similar to GTA V and since the cars aren't licensed the crashes are amazing, if you smack a wall or poll your car will get FUCKED UP. Many manufacturers are not all that comfortable with depicting their cars getting totalled in video games so you'll dents and broken glass but here, the unlicensed cars get destroyed in bad crashes.

I've spent a lot of time in Midnight Club: Los Angeles which features a very active city with varying degrees of traffic depending on the time of day, here the city is mostly empty, there are no cops to think about or anything like that, so it's nothing to just floor the gas and fly thru the streets. There is no cockpit view or wheel support, this something they need to think about in the future, as well as the ability to have an avatar.

There is a decent amount of customization and plenty of races and missions to get into. This game has potential but at $50 I'd say wait for it to drop in price or wait for the next release and see how the devs have progressed.
