Little do they know, that the guys that 'created' this standard of beauty, the hollywood top dogs, are all gay and would have nothing to do with them anyway. Beauty is all in the mind. Cuz the majority of the menfolx aren't actively checking for natural chix. If that was the visual preference, women would seek to attain it. They might SAY that is what they want, but actions speak louder than words, and they don't go unnoticed. Yes, I'm generalizing (somewhat), yes I've seen the afro/dreads/natural/curly hair threads on here, and no I don't have a perm or a weave so I'm not being defensive.

I'll give you 3 reasons:
1) Women do all that shit because they want to be like celebrities.
They watch all these housewife shows and see these women who have been wifed up or skeeted in by ball players and rappers and they see all these long ass weaves, and shoes and purses and shit and it makes them want to go get the same shit because they think if they make themselves look the same way, they could net a guy like that.
And that MIGHT be the type for RICH dudes...because they need their woman to constantly have their shit whipped up and all that because she represents him...
But if you're a regular chick, looking for a regular dude, you don't have to do all that shit.
And then sometimes, it ain't even for a dude.
2) Women do that type shit to impress other women/make other women feel like shit.
Like "oh my purse is better than yours, I'm superior to you; my hair is better than yours, I'm better than you." And that's why women get jumped on by other women when their hair ain't tight because it makes them feel better about their own hair which leads to...
3) Insecurity. Poor self-image. Where it all begins.
non black women typically have long hair, curly or straight doesn't matter, it is usually long. While black women can grow their hair long, it won't be straight without some modding. My sis keeps her hair natural, and the girl I was just seeing kept her hair natural.
Black women can have straight, natural hairstyles. They just to press, hot comb the shit like back in the day. If they'd stop fucking with the weaves and perms Maybe their hair would grow longer.
On another note. I met a bitch at the club Thursday. Cute chick. We talked the next day, she gave me her Instagram to check out the pics. The bitch had about 50 pics with 50 horrible weaves on top of her head..... A total turn off

I feel for Countess and I hope things work out for her. I am dead set against women wearing weaves, extinctions, wigs and what ever else. I feel as though its false advertising. They are presenting a false image of who they are. That also goes for colored contact lenses. They are only doing themselves a disservice by playing make believe. I do agree that there are males who have a preference for women with long straight hair, but like must things in life it is greatly exaggerated. I think most women are in competition with each other more so than trying to attract men.

Not necessarily true. Women do a lot things that men don't notice or care for. Chicks will shave their eyebrows only to draw them back on. Nails? Last time i dated a chick with weave was high school. All the women I've dealt with since then have had natural (non straight) hair

I have heard this before from the Ladies but, I don't know of any men in my circle of friends who only checkin the Sista's with WIGS AND WEAVES. This is a thing among the Ladies, we all know Women dress for other Women. If one of the girls in your Clique says..."You Look FAT in that outfit, it never get worn again no matter how much your man likes to see you in it. Damn Shame.
