who is the greatest black quarterback in the nfl so far? THREAD FROM 2011... WHATS YOUR ANSWER NOW??

warren-moon.jpg

Never seen Moon play and only caught Cunningham during the latter part of his career so I'll go with 1.McNair, 2.Mcnabb 3.Vick. I always loved Mcnair's tenacity and toughness..before Vick he was the almost electrifying black qb to me.

no love for this dude? first black qb to lead his team to a superbowl victory in a time where the ability for a black man to lead a team at the qb position was still debated by ofays :smh:

Warren Moon
Randall Cunningham
Doug Williams
Steve McNair
Vince Evans

I didn't put Mike Vick in it because his career is FAR from over... When it's all said and done... he might sit at the top of this list...

Warren Moon- numbers speak for themselves'

Doug Williams- Not just the superbowl and the sb MVP but for what he did with a garbage Tampa team.

Randall Cunningham- He's the template of every QB to come after him and none of them have the running ability and the accuracy that he had.

True but if he keeps improving, Newton might top them all. He just needs to stay healthy and keep working hard like he's done his whole life.

Warren Moon was one of the greatest QBs to EVER play the game!

Peeps tend to forget that he played in the CFL first, winning 5 straight Grey Cups and then came to the NFL and set records that only until recently stood until Brett Favre surpassed them.

No NFL team would draft him unless he changed postion.

Imagine if he played for 5 more years in the NFL?

The Redskins set the following Super Bowl records in the victory:

Total offensive yards (602)

Total offensive rushing yards (280)

Most touchdowns scored in a Super Bowl game (6)

Total offensive yards in a quarter (356)[2]

Most points in a quarter and in a half (35)

Most touchdowns in a quarter (5)

The largest deficit that a team has overcome to win a Super Bowl (10 points)

Redskins quarterback Doug Williams was named the Super Bowl MVP, completing 18 of 29 passes for a Super Bowl record 340 yards and four touchdowns, with one interception. Williams became the first player in Super Bowl history to pass for four touchdowns in a single quarter, and throw four in a half. Williams was also the first African-American quarterback to play in a Super Bowl.

no doug williams???...since he seems to be the only black qb to win a superbowl and mvp...

This what I was struggling with:smh:

Immediately I thought of warren moon and Randell, mainly cause they had the longer career(better stats.) Doug had the bigger impact as you mentioned, but his lack of longevity kinda takes him out of the running for greatest.

I say Williams should be second..

Moon may have the better stats and longer career but williams had the pioneer position and ring. thats GOT to count for a hell of lot for more than third or fourth on the list. Until someone else gets a ring Williams should be at least second on the list.

If your list doesn't have Mcnabb them your list is null and void.

1.Moon
2.Mcnabb
3.Mcnair
4. Randall
5.Vick

:yes:I agree with this assessment...who's the one in the Hall?

Cam may re-write what being a QB is...kinda like a Randall 2.0.

Vick???....he is what he is,a highlight film...all sizzle,no steak.

Was it 42-10 or 55-10...I seen this game...pops still got it on VHS...damn I getting up their in age...niggas in this thread never seen Moon or Cunningham play
