What am I doing wrong? (White Women in the workplace)

Yeah I learned my lesson from the first incident, realize you got to play the game but I feel now that I don't have to talk to them unless it has to deal with work. Is that not the right thing to do?

Thats what I am doing but it still not working. I'm the overnight manager now so I don't have to be around them all that much now. One came in the morning talking shit(reason why I made this thread). Since I am on overnight the bosses forget to tell me stuff. So I had my overnight clerk do a project I was told to do. Well she comes in talking shit b/c I guess she did it already but her way.
I told her well talk to them b/c I was just following orders. This lady who is like 50 years old would not shut the fuck up. Went on and on about it for an hour. Telling the white female assistant that came in to relieve me.
You need to read some books on managing people. Your next position should be one that gives you some real management training. I think Enterprise has that type of program.
you said your their boss, right?,,, keep an eye on the main trouble maker (ring leader),,, wait for her to make any type of offense, then fire her ass,,, & make sure all those other bitches see that you terminated her,,, the shit talking should die down once they see you don't play,,, but if it continues, follow these instructions on a 2nd bitch,,, they'll get the picture,,, the problem is they don't fear you
Two things I see here.
#1. Waiting for other people to keep you in the loop WILL get you fired. Be proactive about what's going on especially as it relates to your duties.
#2. Don't allow insubordination to go unchecked. Follow the companies plan of disciplinary action after consulting with your boss/H.R. Chic mouthing off like that would certainly seem in line for a verbal warning.
Again, before you do anything make sure you cover your ass first (since you were reactive and not proactive about what needed to be done thus giving the employee room to complain).

As a manager, your job is to KEEP them on their HEELS, and you gotta be on your toes to do that. Like mainman said, START looking for another gig. In fact ALWAYS be looking for another gig. This is GROWN FOLKS territory.
A good model for having to deal with employees is the MILITARY. Check how those Drill Sargents 'handle' their platoons. This is CHESS, not checkers. Being in the REAL workforce gives you a FRONT row seat to the rank stench of human behavior.

I'm told that I'm their boss but I'm really not. Yea they are suppose to do shit I say but I can't fire anyone don't have that power. I can write them up, but from what I see that does nothing never seen someone get fired for being written up they just get warnings from the head boss. A lot of warnings. The girls that were telling on me in the beginning were other assistant managers so I am not over them.

Not going to lie I was thinking that in the beginning. I still never gave them personal stuff to be able to get at me later. My slip up was listening to the white dude complain about the job so I was like fuck it me too not realizing this chick was around us remembering everything I said. Also like someone mention the white dude probably did tell on me too. I kind of still don't think he did b/c he not in the inner circle management got going on but you can't trust them.
Grown women man can you believe that? Shit the younger ones are the cool ones but most of the younger girls there are Mexicans girls. These women are 25 and up oldest being like 50(she is the main one talking and telling shit). When she worked with me one night she was kinda like bragging how she got two assistant managers moved from the store b/c they were fucking.

You're not suppose to discuss other former employee's business with your manager. Write her up.

Bus' it. You HAVE to become an ENTIRELY different person AT WORK. Trust no one. You have to PLAY EVERYBODY to YOUR advantage . . . This includes the BOSS, especially the BOSS. You have to learn to FEIGN sincerity. PRETEND to be cool. PRETEND to be care about the job as IF it was your money that was paying these folks. Ol' girl that tricked on you is playing the game RIGHT. By tricking on you, she signaled to the boss that she is WILLING to play BAD COP. Remember, no boss respects weakness. You may already be trumped. As mainman said, start looking. Matter of fact . . . ALWAYS BE LOOKING. That way, you keep management on their toes.

I work with white women everyday..my boss is a white woman...I know how white women treat each other at work (friendly in face..but spit when their backs are turned). Well, one thing is don't air your personal business with them. BUT..get a dialogue with your boss. Get her to understand you some, you don't have to complain but I know I've saved my ass alot of trouble by getting my boss to understand how I think and how I approach my work(not in negative terms, positive). Plus, white women who work under you....if they have grievance just tell them to talk to you about it(professionally..not non-work related problems). White women like nothing other than to think their boss is "listening" to them. Yea it's time consuming and annoying but I've seen white women airing out in their supers offices enough to see. Even I've had a few white women far older than me(kinda odd me being relatively young n black to them) tell me all kinds of personal stuff(sometimes TOO personal) by simply asking them how they are doing. But as their boss you don't want to hear about their life, just workplace issues. Do you actually act on what they tell you?...most likely no..but just listen...they won't be "enemies". Customers...you can't do much about that. Sometimes no amount of groveling can appease them...unless you really really brown nose. But if you aren't feeling your job that much you prob aren't capable of doing that

Well I'm trying to transfer to another store. I know it probably be just the same there but I rather get off work pissed off only have to drive 5 mins to get home than have to drive 30 mins. Also working overnight in that Mexican hood is

Yea it was her telling me to get my shit together and how I should be thankful she gave me the job. Fuck up thing is some of the shit was lies too. The white chick that told on me and the other managers were suppose to be teaching me since I was new. They ended up using me by making me get all the calls like when the customers come in complaining just so they could get their work done. They told her how they how to tell me shit twice for me to do it. That chick on my first day with her said I have to learn like she did which was no help learn it on my own.
Shit the person who really taught me shit was this black dude, who was head photo(fired for weed). Thing is he would have got in trouble too b/c it's like company rules that he does not know all the stuff managers do like the codes. He been there for so long he just saw shit and new and taught me. That was a cool ass dude right there. Didn't matter what if he was busy or whatever he would help me.

You answered your own question. Stop trusting white people. They do not want to see you get ahead. They feel that you are not deserving and they don't want you supervising them. Go to work, do your job, stay out of other people's business and keep them out of yours. You can't control the actions of those people, but you sure as hell can control yourself.

Real Talk. From working around women in a office setting for over 7 years, it does not matter what race of women are in the office your going to catch hell. Some women are quick to snitch, most will be whiny, some have way too much attitude. You need to establish that you are in charge. Any problems need to focus through and not your boss. If they going around you there is a problem and you are looking incompetent. Try to control your emotions in fucked up situations. Get to know them and let them get to know you a little bit but not to the point that they think that your their friend or if they can manipulate you. If they get comfortable with you being in charge life is going to be easier. If you the person that just comes to work does his job and bounce at the end of the day without socializing to a certain degree .... well let just say you won't be in that job that long. That just how it is in a office setting. It juvenile and superfical but that how it is and exactly why I got out of that bullshit.
Its not a white thing. He needs to learn to separate work form home. Heck I've gone a business trip with my co workers. Did I choose to drink with them? Did I decide to go t the titty bar with them? No I stayed in my hotel room and chilled. Had them wondering where the yuck buck was.
You need to learn to read. Other than talking to that white dude I had said many times on here how I just go in do my work and not say shit to them(white women) unless its about work. Janitors go on business trips yeah right nigga.
