I think bus driving is the best bet, don't see crackers hiring me for no office gig that pays over $40k a year

sickle cell bro, I can monitor cameras but nothing physical, I applied, and they denied me last week.
Allied security. Check them out. I think they are the biggest security company in the US. They have contracts with many municipalities. They have jobs where you sit and watch cameras of downtown all night.

but you think you can drive trucks

What if you have a crisis in a big ass truck?
I'm a goner but I should be able to handle a bus.

I don't want to go back to security, easy ass job working overnight sitting in a car but boring and no money.

I'm trying to get something in an office.

used to work at the port everglades for them, I quit one night and never came back.

I can go back, I got a number to call about a post but buddy never called back. Security has a stigma and alot of people don't really take people seriously.

You can make more than 40K doing a remote customer service or personal assistant job.
speech impediment... I told you my life isn't easy.

But it's gotten a lot better from my younger years, but I don't know if I can be that good consistently.

Who cares about what people think.. you getting paid.. it's a lot of jobs people are naive about or look down on when in reality you might make more than them.. people be trying to look down on people that quietly be doing better than them.. my boy use to do security for a hotel and was making 40+ an hr that's not including night differential pay and OT.. he was clocking 6 figs a year and guess what you know how many people was naive to how much he made cause he was security.. making more than them and yet they thought they were doing better

Nice !!!

I am aware but I think the state is pretty terrible for jobs in general. I took actions years ago, I think about it every day. Lost friends over getting brutally honest over my life and the people I messed with.
FUK THEM.. they ain't or never was your friend. As long as you got breathe, you to to breathe and grind.. something will bend your way, just got to keep grinding. The state, goverment or the next man ain't gonna get it or give it to you.. take care of your health as best you can, work with what you got and just know there is a spot for you on somebody's team. you got to grind until that spot opens up.

Man you know BGOL hates police , everybody here is anti cop . Out here the base salary for cops at nearly all Bay Area departments is $150k cops averages nearly 300k with OT here
Ain't no regular ass police officer making 300k.

Google says:
In Oakland, California, a police officer's salary can range from $87,400 to $119,990 per year, with the top step reaching $119,990 annually. Trainees start at $87.4K, and after academy completion, officers receive step increases, potentially reaching the top step after five years. The average salary for police officers in Oakland is around $102,039 per year.

My brother was a truck driver. Got sick of the BS and quit. Got a job driving a school bus. He likes it. By the way, he's 64. Another option is to check out the temp agencies. If this music thing don't pick up I may hit the temp agencies.

You ain’t from California so you don’t need to be speaking on shit . . CA Government salaries are public information.

Hey...that's what Google said :dunno: And I don't have to be from California to speak on public knowledge. You just proved that by posting this site. Also, that list includes their total benefits which aint got shit to do with take home pay. Those high ranking officers and detectives that have been on the force for 20 years may be getting paid. The average cop ain't making no 300k a year. Foh.

You may be right about being in the wrong state Boss...you got some issues and America in general doesn't give a fuck but states like Florida really don't give a fuck

With that being said, get that 1000 a month for your condition if its available and the suggestions about church and sickle cell groups are good as well

Haven't followed all your threads so maybe you already answered this but can you get a security clearance to do some NOC/SOC overnight type of work?

Fuck google learn how to read it has their base pay with overtime . Stop speaking on what’s done in the Bay Area. You don’t know shit or what the fuck you’re talking about. Police pay here is the highest in the country.

“In California, the average salary for a police officer is $193,330. “

Salary statistics from GovSalaries show that cops in Santa Clara earned the second-highest average compensation in California, tallying an impressive $287,314 annually.

I'll go back into applying for SSI, I know I can get it.

The job requirements are pretty tough with it though so I can only do certain jobs.

I used to work overnight in a SOC monitoring web traffic but fired by racist cacs, I could have sued but I was happy at the time.

Its not really you, its the market.

As a country we really dont need as many IT professionals as we produced.

Have you looked at schools down there to see if you can get on as a teacher assistant and convert that to a teacher role? That should put you above the 40k range in south florida, and you'd get summers off.

I kinda gave up on the IT thing, I went to Miami Dade and BCC but nothing, Nova has a few IT support specialist 1 positions but they denied me, basically everyone denies me, the Junior Network Engineer roles deny me, the Help Desk job deny me, lol...

I kinda gave up man, I was gonna go down to Allied Security and say fuck it, my boy work 2 posts and make about 55 a year.

WGU isn't for someone like me, but I didn't know that it's for someone within the field looking to move up, so in a sense the degree just checks the boxes.

Not much, if at all. Online degrees are still stigmatized today. Most people who have degrees got them from brick-and-mortar schools. These people are also in charge of hiring. Do you really think they'll hold these open-book/cheat and speed-run your way in a year places in the same regard? That's why people on this sub will tell you to go to an online program out of a B&M school over something purely online like WGU. So it looks like you attended in person. Cheap and fast comes at a price.

What WGU is good for is people who are already in the industry trying check a box quick and easy. How it looks doesn't matter to them. They already hold something more valuable: experience. It won't be the same thing for those trying to break in with nothing but a degree. And if you don't have experience and school name backing you, then you have 2 problems instead of 1.

That's why experience is a great equalizer. Internships have become the most important thing for any student, and I would go as far to say more important than getting the degree. Except only students are eligible for them. If you're gonna go to college, do your internships above support. You don't want to be starting at hell desk with the people who didn't go. If you aren't too old to start there, you definitely aren't too old to do internships that lets you skip lightyears over them.

I feel like in a sense IT was all a hustle for rich fat cats, what happened to learn to code? All those schools came and went. It was hyped up and AI came and crushed the buildings, companies realized they don't need 30 helpdesk guys, it was a hustle.

I dont think it was always malicious. Like if you did it 10 years ago, you'd probably be in a better spot right now. Its just you were fed information from schools that didnt really match the reality of life in the real world. Simple supply and demand.

Every kid was told to learn how to code
Every young(or even older) adult was told to go into IT to make good money.

The supply outpaced the demand, and got us to where we are.

Schools dont do a good job of showing kids the future, but just selling the current demand.

I think if you can become a teacher you'd end up fine. The demand is there for educators, and with sickle cell the physical labor shouldnt be too bad for you. You could even turn this into teaching IT at a high school. Not the worst gig with your degree and even 50k is solid for a man in the south. Dont let the folks on here, who mostly live in expensive areas, speak down on it. You find a woman making 50k and your kids are growing up in a solid middle class black household. That is gold in Florida.
