Vandamation.....it's your turn homey.

What was the cause of the split between Irv and Mic? Speaking of Mic, if anyone would've told me that Pac or Biggie would end up having bigger careers than him I would've laughed in their face. Boy was I off the mark.

Yeah, that'll forever be my shit. Man, I miss that era.

At the time, there were ONLY two buildings like it in the city( one in Jamaica and the other around 35st and 8 ave in Manhattan)... These building were basically rehearsal rooms for bands( Mostly Rock Bands)

I think you might be talking about the building on 30th between 7th and 8th. Is it the one the Rogue Music used to be in?

No... I'm NOT talking about the Rogue Building... Which is same building as DownTime and where Power Play Studios moved to... The Building I'm talking about was a rehearsal building bands would practice in... I'm VERY familiar with the Rogue building(Armon's Music Shop is in the front now and Rogue is across the street instead of the 10th Floor). I know it's around 35th st... I'm just not sure if it's 7th... 8th or even 9th ave... but I do know it's a block off the 34th st...

^^^ Dude said "the 10th floor". Damn you have a good memory! There are still mad studios in that building to this day. I'm not sure of the other (the one on 35th) building though.

SHIT!!!... I used to practically LIVE IN ROGUE...
The building I'm talking about is probably gone by now... I know the city had given that building some kind of special provision at one time where they were able to keep the rent kind of reasonable at one time... I think that all changed when Guiliani's BITCH ASS GOT INTO OFFICE THOUGH... :smh: But like I said, this was more of a rehearsal place... The Rogue building DOES have a lot of studios in it though... AND In my opinion... Rogue is THE BEST MUSIC EQUIPMENT STORE IN NYC... BY FAR...

Lol! Those were the days Vam! I had major memories growing up. The Muse was like home to a dude. Me and my boys helped build that shit. The muse and homebase were rivals. I remember Rakim performed @ the muse. I was excited like a nigga locked in a ho house. Man this dude walked through the crowd and the shit parted! I dam near fainted. That nigga Rah lil as hell! Im expecting an 6 foot dude and he turned out to be 5.6 5.8 the most.

I missed the show my boys did there. I went to S.C with my uncle and my boys performed a freestyle with Bud Bundy! Thats also the night Pac was in the house. My boy said Pac was begging to perform:eek:

Bell, Biv and Devie shut shit DOWN when they came through. Niggas in the back @ the stage just blowing.

I met Finesse and Synquist. Fine sista's. I was walking through the club holding hads with Syn and she was down! They cool. I met Swv and had the hots for Lele. She thought I worked @ Sony because I use to rock a def jam jacket my aunt brought me from there. She worked for them and use to bring home mad shit! I have an autograph copy of that Madonna book when it first dropped. That same night I met Swv, Sweet Tee had an birthday party that night and she had a dick cake. They invited me upstairs but I declined. Too busy chasing them fine ass harlem chicks! Yo man, them were the days of my life fam!

I remember meeting Biggie at Bentleys when Juicy premiered. I was staring @ him and I kept telling my boys, yo there go Biggie, and them niggas kept brushing me off calling me a dr (dickrider) I told them niggas fuck off and shook that nigga hand and told him he's the best thing to happen to Brooklyn. Nigga looked @ me snd said no doubt! I felt blessed to meet him.

Yeah man... I try to tell the young homies... THEY MISSED THE BOAT WHEN IT CAME TO CLUBS......:lol::lol: The Muse.... Homebase... SHIT!!!... All of those spots were the shit... But my personal favorite was the SOUL KITCHEN at S.O.B.'s... Every Tuesday night... It was more low key BUT since S.O.B.'s was so small, it was always packed and you see all of the HOTTEST Djs, producers and Rappers there hanging out... I can't even front... The homie, Shock G(aka Humpty Hump) knocked me for a bitch one time in there...:lol::lol: I had her too... I got the number... I go outside for some air... and I see him and the chick getting into a limo... and I WASN'T EVEN MAD... SHEEEITTT... How can I be??? it's HUMPTY HUMP...:lol::lol: AWWW THE MEMORIES...

Vandam are you from Flushing or Southside?

1. I wonder why Fashion never rejoined the Beatnuts.

2. And yea, I used to see Mr. Cheeks in the Coliseum as well as Freaky Tah (that was a big dud who I saw rocking a sweater during a sweltering summer on 163 st).

3. And I thought it was common knowledge that JMJ used to be deep in the streets pre-Run DMC days--Rev. Run said so himslef when explaining how they started out. Now, how he got got, I was as shcoked as everyone else.

4. Did you know Stretch and Majesty. Very underrated producers and rappers. I still think Stretch knew more about Tupac's robbery and was surprised when he was killed--though I found out about his story long after he and Tupac were killed.

5. I was about to ask if you were related to Shock G--but read your SOB's story.

6. Did you know Jimmy Henchman & Haitian Jack? They must have been in the music industry w/E-Money Bags and K. Supreme.

7. How about Cash Money Click and 50 Cent--pre stardom?

8. And why did Tragedy have to go to Maino to get some money when he was released when there are so many other guys that he helped along the way?

9. Where was the best lockdoor party back in the day---and don't say Jackson Heights/Roosevelt

Be easy and be patient for I am one of many.

1A. And Lord Sinister--have you been to Don Jagwar's hot dog stand?

Vandam are you from Flushing or Southside? BOTH. Born in Jamaica and I lived in Flushing for 17 years. From the 4th grade to my early 20's.

1. I wonder why Fashion never rejoined the Beatnuts. I don't know.

2. And yea, I used to see Mr. Cheeks in the Coliseum as well as Freaky Tah (that was a big dud who I saw rocking a sweater during a sweltering summer on 163 st).
Tah was a good dude... 100% real dude.

3. And I thought it was common knowledge that JMJ used to be deep in the streets pre-Run DMC days--Rev. Run said so himslef when explaining how they started out. Now, how he got got, I was as shcoked as everyone else.
I don't know Jay for being in the streets. I don't know how his demise came... I've heard stories BUT I don't know... :dunno:

4. Did you know Stretch and Majesty. Very underrated producers and rappers. I still think Stretch knew more about Tupac's robbery and was surprised when he was killed--though I found out about his story long after he and Tupac were killed.
I know Stretch used to stay around the corner from I.S.8. I used to see him at the BUD SPOT from time to time but that's about it. I know the LIVE SQUAD stickers used to be everywhere.
5. I was about to ask if you were related to Shock G--but read your SOB's story.
:lol::lol: Even though Shock snatched shorty up, I'm a BIG fan of his...:lol::lol:
6. Did you know Jimmy Henchman & Haitian Jack? They must have been in the music industry w/E-Money Bags and K. Supreme.
The ONLY one of those dudes I knew was E... I went to high school with E... those other cats, I don't know... In fact... To be honest... Before the 'Pac song,'Against all Odds'... I NEVER HEARD OF HAITIAN JACK... I heard of Henchman because he used to throw parties and I also knew he was a manager... That's why it's crazy to me when I hear that people think he was EXTORTING EVERYBODY IN THE INDUSTRY... because there's quite a few niggas who weren't having it... And you'd be surprised by those who weren't having it...
7. How about Cash Money Click and 50 Cent--pre stardom?
Cash Money Clique owes a lot to Mic Geronimo... He's the one who walked them in at TVT... NOT IRV... 50, I seen him a few times at a Barber shop who by my friend MIKEY... It was called Fades on GUY R BREWER... BUT I do know niggas that he ran with... and YES... HE'S EVERYTHING HE SAYS HE WAS...
8. And why did Tragedy have to go to Maino to get some money when he was released when there are so many other guys that he helped along the way?
I don't know what was up between Maino and Trag... :dunno:
9. Where was the best lockdoor party back in the day---and don't say Jackson Heights/Roosevelt
BY FAR... THE BEST LOCKDOOR PARTIES WERE IN HARLEM...
There used to be a strip club on the west side called Harlem Heat and if you signed up their mailing list, they would send you info on the lockdoor parties... AND THOSE SHIT WERE INSANE... STR8 UP CRAZY... The GOAT, HARRY'S TRIANGLE, AL'S MR. WEDGE and SEXY DANCER WERE BUCK WILD TOO... BUT The Harlem Heat Lock Doors were the illest because they were str8 up in a crib.... And it wouldn't be at the same crib all the time... Just ABSOLUTE INSANITY...
:sleazy:... :blowjob:... :fucking:

Be easy and be patient for I am one of many.
it's all good my dude... Peace:cheers:
1A. And Lord Sinister--have you been to Don Jagwar's hot dog stand?

Yep. I remember when he was Earle The Poet and was signed to Orpheus back in the day. he was always saying he was going to open up a hot dog shop with the money. That was my first time going to New York gotta be 89 or 90.

His shit was cool, but he was on Rakim too hard.

Man, my first trip back East was cool as hell. Hip hop conference in Atlantic City, meeting the Audio Two, The UMC's Big Jaz -O (I think jigga was there, but nobody paid attention to him) MC Shan, trying to fuck Nicki D :lol:

I miss the early 90's

Is Alpo a worst snitch than Nicky Barnes or Frank Lucas?

Seems like some of the biggest rats in Black history are from Harlem.

If the biggest kingpins are from their, the biggest rats are probably gonna be from their too. Correlation does not imply causation.

IMO... YES!!!
The thing about Nicky is... He accepted his bid... and he did about 8 or 9 years before he told... AND he told out of PURE vengeance... NOT that it's right BUT I believe he did it for that reason... I don't know enough about Frank Lucas to speak on him...
BUT ALPO... He's the lowest of the low... Not only did he do his man, Rich Porter dirty... BUT... He did his MAIN shooter, Wayne Perry(THAT DUMB ASS) dirty... All for the SOLE PURPOSE of SELFISHNESS... :smh:

BUT... That's Harlem for you... Harlem is a CRAZY PLACE... Harlem is a place where niggas will show you MAD LOVE... as long as you DON'T HAVE ANYTHING TO DO WITH DRUGS UP THERE... Once you fuck with drugs... IN HARLEM... :itsawrap: Them niggas turn into COMPLETE SAVAGES...
:smh:
