Vandamation.....it's your turn homey.

Was the Lost Boys really running wild thru Southside back in the 90's?

Who REALLY killed JMJ??

The Lost Boys crew is BIGGER than Cheeks, Tah, Spiggy and Rahlou... The original Lost Boys are about 10 to 15 cats( Jay Raff, Slugga, Green Eyes, CeeLowe,I.G.and a few others)... Then you have the dudes who came and gone along the way... The Lost boys were REAL DEEP back in the days... As far as Jam Master Jay... I've heard rumors but I have no idea... :smh:

Yeah, that's who I was talking about. I was in the Navy with a cat from Southside around the time the Lost Boyz had their second album out and he used to always be on some "yo the lost boyz sun? them niggas is maaaddd deep sun. them niggas come thru the SPOT...........shut shit down sun. Word to Muva!". But that's about all we got out of him.

And I was more so asking what's the general hood opinion on the JMJ thing.

other rappers or just street shit

other rappers or just street shit

Street Shit... Cheeks is the only MC from Lost Boyz... The rest of them were Hustlers and Goons... The thing about it was... The Lost Boyz used to clique up with a lot of cats... For instance, Lost Boyz were cool with dudes from Flushing... Dudes from Rockaway Blvd... Dudes from ALL OVER... not just Queens either... So when Lost boyz roll out somewhere, it may be about 30 or 40 or more niggas rolling out together... Plus, the block they were from (Linden Blvd and the Van Wyck Expwy) was a LIVE block back in the day... There was a time when you can easily see 20 niggas on that corner chillin'... rolling dice... EVERYDAY!!!... The four guys from the group ONLY a few of the REAL Lost Boys... Like I said, Jay Raff... Cee-Lowe... Slugga... Gunt... I.G.(RIP)... Those were some of the original Lost Boys... ALL OF WHICH were on some type of street shit..

I don't know if a whole thread is necessary but I'll say this... My Hip Hop history is of a certain era... I've said it many times, I grew up with Large Professor, Mike Geronimo, Royal Flush, Mr.Cheeks, Chy-Skillz(he produced ONYX'S first album) and a few others... I also got to know Nas when he was 16 years old through Large. SO, I basically saw Large's WHOLE history in Hip Hop... From his first studio sessions at 1212 Studios... to him being in high school and producing Eric B and Rakim's 'Let the Rhythm Hit'em' album and Kool G Rap's 'Wanted Dead or Alive' album at the same time while trying to graduate. I don't mind sharing what I know about certain things... I just don't know if have enough stories for a whole thread.

Never really payed attention to any of your non sports related post. I guess this explains why you go so hard for NY teams..... Its in your blood.

Some say Jay was involved in some drug shit... BUT... who knows... The one thing about me is... Once the word 'DRUGS' get involved... I go in the opposite direction... Nothing good ever comes out of a situation involving drugs... There are NO happy endings whatsoever... :smh:

What do you know about Tony Montana?

I think you mean Tommy Montana...
BIg Time Drug Dealer from Laurelton, Queens... I think he had a bike store and a sneaker store on Merrick Blvd back in the day... I never seen him or met him but I heard a lot about him from dudes in Laurelton...

Thoughts or stories on

Cormega
Tragedy
Nature
Sha Money XL

I don't really know too much about Cormega... I met him a few times but he was locked up for a minute back then...

I don't know Sha Money at all...

Nature is cool... Quiet dude...

Trag is my homie... Trag helped Havoc a lot... and Trag was one who got Large's first record played... Trag was also the first person that Large did a beat for... even though Marley Marl ended up buying the track and using it to make 'Illegal Search' for LL Cool J...

Trag was a wild boy... Trag used to get high( and I'm not talking about weed)... Trag used to do a lot of dirt... He got locked up... came home... and did his thing... I met him when he came home... Trag is cool as hell in my book... To me, Trag is a guy who deserves a lot of credit for upholding the Queensbridge tradition of MCs... Trag did a lot for Havoc... and Capone and Nore... Especially Nore...

peace

Was just taking all of this in earlier.
Used to hear stories about Trag's brother gooning on kats, straight up not paying & doing folk dirty in the industry.

Now thinking of it, this sounds like it was tailored for that IntelligentHoodlum flow @ the time

The IllMahdi:cool:
One of the most underated lyricist of the early & late 90s outside all of the discrepancies.

StretchArmstrong used to play this, all them joints plus have him up on the show spiting on the regular.

peace

Man, I used to get fucked with all the time. It got so bad with the police trying to jack me, I started rolling around with one of my Gold Albums in the back seat so I could show po-po when the jacked me.

Then they'd ask me who shot Tupac and Biggie.:lol:

Oh, and as far as Stevie Wonder, you can't beat cuzz in Air hockey (Unless you cheat like me)

The Story is like that Charlie Murphy one, y'all wont believe it if I tell it again.

:lol::lol::lol::lol::lol::lol::lol::lol::lol::lol::lol::lol:

I met Poet in High School... He used to work construction by my house in Flushing... Around the time he had a diss record going at KRSONE.... He used to wear a jacket that said MC Poet, so we used to shout him out while he was working while we were on our way to school... I don't know the rest of them but I like their music.

I met Lakey a few times... but he got locked up and was gone for a while, so I never got to know him like that.

damn Vandamation, we actually run in the same circles

Nice... REAL Nice... I was around for a lot of those records...

Two things about 1212 Studios...
1. The building's security was a bunch of Ansar Muslims... Most of whom were REAL close friends with Dr. York.... In fact, Dr. York's best friend,Yah-Yah AKA Pops was head security... He was mad FUNNY... and cool as hell...

2. For me, the illest thing about the studio was... PAUL C... :wepraise::wepraise::wepraise:
I say that because Paul C was straight up and down white boy... with CUT OFF ROCK N ROLL Tee Shirts.... Tight ass jeans... the whole thing... BUT... Paul C was the one who taught us about breaks... where to shopping for breaks... Paul was not only a dope producer... he was a Dope engineer too... Paul C used to always want to battle me in drumming because I used to play drums when I was real young... Alot of ILL records made out of 1212 Studios... Paul C completely changed my perception of what role race plays in Hip Hop... He opened my eyes to NOT being close minded when it comes to ANY RACE in Hip Hop... SImply put... He was the FUNKIEST WHITE DUDE I'VE EVER MET IN MY LIFE... AND HE IS THE MASTER SENSEI WHEN IT COMES TO DIGGING IN THE CRATES FOR ME...

1212 studios was in what was called 'The Music Building'... At the time, there were ONLY two buildings like it in the city( one in Jamaica and the other around 35st and 8 ave in Manhattan)... These building were basically rehearsal rooms for bands( Mostly Rock Bands)... Back in the day, Bands like Metallica... Guns N Roses... Van Halen... Motley Crue... would roll up in that building and practice... 1212 Studios ONLY took up two rooms in that building... The music Building itself had 100+ rooms... The sad thing about that place is... A fuckin Bitch burnt it down and that place has never been re-built... There was a lot of history in that place... The big homey Jazzy J lost a lot of equipment in that place when it burnt down... I was lucky because I was week away from putting down a deposit in there... I had picked out a room and everything... :smh:

Shirt Kings lost alot of their shit in the fire also
