They aren’t, and that said, the girl swung down at the other kids head while running full speed, and if she caught her on the side of the head and/or caught her flush with the top of the baton (the lip of a baton is rounded and more metal that than the shaft), the assaulted could have been pretty out of it, the kid ain’t get a concussion from anything else….
I don't know he is 15 so he prob don't know the timeline. She did say her docs said she may have a fractured skull. She did swing hard though. Correct I ran track also and those batons are lightweight.
They have to go to Lynchburg for the court and it's about 3 hrs away.
What the hell, man?
Folk will realize that the law will try to make an example out of people for doing things like this.
That's a long ride to have to think about why you're going 3 hours away for court. Just don't hit people in the back of the head with batons. lol

Their best chance of ending this would've been to take accountability immediately and called out their daughter out for the hit then offer to pay any medical expenses. Playing dumb is gonna have them paying for years. I've spoken with people in their 30's that have had their wages garnished since their 20's after having a judgment against them. There might've been an off chance that their homeowners insurance could cover this incident, but when criminal charges are filed it's a wrap.

Alaila might have to give up Track &Field and focus on something that better suits her talents likeHere are their track times. Kaelen may have a future so I can see why her parents are pressing charges. But Alaila is not so fast but she does about 7 events so there may be a college that gives her a chance.

What’s crazy is how this reminds me of the George Floyd case. Like, we looked at the damn video and saw him get murdered in cold blood. But yet, you have those folks like “let’s wait for the facts” while the accused is now playing victim.

They let Everett the hitter run in the Regionals. She finished 15th in the 200 and didn't qualify for the finals.
My son is there and he finished :04 sec off in the 100 to go to the finals tomorrow. He just ran under 23 sec in the 200, missed qualification by :10 sec. He is a sophomore and really enjoys track. I am going to spend the summer keeping him focused on his craft vs video games like he normally does.
