Unemployed? Tired of McJobs? How to Blog For Money -- a Step by Step Tutorial (pics)

Re: Unemployed? Tired of McJobs? How to Blog For Money -- a Step by Step Tutorial (p

I've taken the time to write some good blog posts only to find out that other sites have done a copy and paste of my shit

Is there anything you can do to stop people from sealing your posts?

My experiences..
I've been messing around trying to find a niche ever since your "Free Hustle Tip" threads a while back and im just now starting to get the hang of it. I haven't been working at in streaks for example I'll work on the site for about 1 week straight and then not tough it again for 3 months.. :hmm: Its hard to stay focused when you don't see the money coming in quickly but it requires patients.

I started my most recent blog in January and was inspired by your facebook arbitrage thread. I made $16.00 in May... Its not much but I do see potential. My goal is to be more consistent with the marketing and trying to fine tune the site. I'll also keep exploring different niches and markets.

Also adding Google Analytics to the site provides good reporting.. I still working on deciphering the data but it also has a lot of potential.

TO answer #2 of your question: The key here is to be CONSISTENT. post 1 entry daily. Also, devote 30 minutes to promoting your blog.

Can this work using NING sites?

Re: Unemployed? Tired of McJobs? How to Blog For Money -- a Step by Step Tutorial (p

Brother, this is excellent. Now, I have a blog that doesn't have a niche market that pays high. However, I have noticed that when I post a blog with the keywords from spyfu.com that are big payers, I get more per click.

I just need some help, getting more traffic to my blog and I want to figure out how to attach keywords to my blog that Google acknowldges.

I'll be posting a tutorial on that soon. In the meantime, there's some nuggets you can pick up at http://www.highrevenue.com

From what I've seen you should have a lot of high quality posts to move your site up in the search engines. Also post it on your facebook page if you have one.

I checked out your site and you have some good posts and adding some more should help you out.

I'm in by means no expert but I noticed a traffic increase with me adding articles.

I would say make that decision when you think blogger.com doesnt offer you the flexibility you need. For example if you want to add custom items that blogger support. As they saying goes.. "If it aint broke dont fix it"

Good to see fam still helping each other with this. A few things I wish my coattails were pulled to when I started:

Building a list
It may not seem like much, but you can ask people to sign up for a newsletter, or for a free offer or whatever to get their email address. Once you have a good list going, you can sell to them at will going forward without much cost. Icontact and a few others give free trials up to a certain sized list. After that there is a monthly cost, but it's free to get started. Just sign up and put the signup for on your website or blog. Give them good info for the first couple of days then hit them with how great your product you get commission on is. You can do this over and over. Even give them copied articles. Icontact takes care of the required legal stuff you have to do (opt-in, way to unsubscribe...etc) you just fill in your website details.

Videos
Make a video promoting your website and post on youtube and other video sites. You don't even have to do it yourself (I prefer a woman's voice to use anyway). Just write up a script, have your actress read it while you record it. Add some appropriate screenshots according to the script and brand it with your website address. Post some on video sites and a few on your blog. Free traffic and theory is, eventhough alot of video sites are nofollow, that Google likes to see videos on your blog and gives you better search ratings.

Much luck to all.

You should move to wordpress ASAP. Why?

1) Control over your site -- you own the site not Google

2) More Plugins to boost your site's ability to get traffic

3) More control over the ads and content you can put on your blog

4) Easier to sell

I outsource my filler materials to these guys. For "anchor posts" I write my own stuff.

Do you know if Google takes a cut of adsense revenue generated from Blogger?

Since Google owns adsense, google takes a % from all adsense ad clicks. They sell the ads through adwords. So if an advertiser pays $1 per click, the whole $1 doesnt go to the publisher (you)

List building is key. People give you PERMISSION to market to them

Props for this thread fam, and props to all the brothers participating in it...

Do you think that it's better to from the blog to be about multiple subjects, or should there be separate blogs for each topic?

I was thinking along the lines of a forum type spot, were sports, news, urban topics, hip-hop, r&b, movies, etc could be all in one spot. (sorta like bgol, lol). Any opinions?

In terms of traffic, your idea is better

But if you want to make more money per click having 1 topic = 1 blog is the way to go

That's why some people run blog farms made up of hundreds of blogs

I don't really 100% get it either ... it is basically getting money off traffic like a radio show has money based on advertisers ... you use google search engine like neilsen ratings for popularity and build your site around that ...
