They say he is the greatest guitarist in history..And I agree

I will give the Americans 1 point: You have finally posted one good guitarist, George Benson. The rest of these people are a waste of my time and I will not address them.

Good shit.....i got a new one

Imma change it to

not that there's anything wrong with being a faggot

The first time you post post a good guitarist, the fools among you who do not know what a good guitarist is, resort to insults, why?

Americans...Americans..Americans...:smh::smh::smh::smh:

Let me say this... What they teach us about guitar is this: the best player are the ones who can do as much with the least movement up and down the fretboard as an average players down...If you understand the strings, you can get all those notes without having to range up and down the fretboard as George Benson did. Actually, when all these people were talking about Hendrix, I thought they would bring up Wayman Tisdale or Benson, not that bum Jimmi Hendrix..who I am not going address anymore because I believe I have made the point...

Now for Mr Benson, who is from Pittsburgh, and whose music I listened to growing up, to you in America, he is a good guitarist. To us this is average music. Here is Diblo running through those notes and producing more coherent music than your man. This is the stuff that Popolipo would listen to one time, repeat and then improve..

Lesson: Produce music, not tricks. You remove all the other instruments and Mr Benson is dead in the water with his guitar,,

Dilweed the movement is called octaves. That is exactly what makes the music more interesting. Staying in one box and playing all the notes (only 7 plus sharps and flats which are the same depending on the key) is boring and amaturistic. As good as B.B. is he can be a bit boring with his B.B. Box whereas Stevie Ray moves around the neck creating interest. You're a dumb ass. Them africans play like children.

What a ridiculous argument.
Comparing different music styles and saying one artist is better than another.
Apples and oranges.
It's simply a matter of taste.

George Benson is a good, not a great guitarist. Of course you cannot play every single note without moving up or down one fret. But if you know the frets, you do not need to range as far as he did, in order to go from high E to low E...That is plain is plain idiocy. In the second part of his playing, he was picking the strings, rather than strumming, I bet that diblo can reproduce all that garbage in the last 3 or 4 frets without covering the entire neck with unnecessary motion.

Good point, in so far as technique is concerned, but you can close your eyes and state which sound is more appealing, and metal is the worst sound ever produced from a guitar.

The first time you post post a good guitarist, the fools among you who do not know what a good guitarist is, resort to insults, why?

Because you're always insulting people and you also use bad language. I used to give you the benefit of the doubt and try to respect your opinion, but it goes both ways. The mere fact that you down every single amercan musician shows your non-objectivity. There are many different types of music and each has its appeal in some way, but you don't give any american music the time of day and every single american musician and song cannot be all bad, but to listen to you...you would think it is.

Just like there are two performances you posted that I could say good things about, but what good woud it do. You have a one tract mind and obviously have a chip on your shoulder about americans.

You think you know music, but you base it on how difficult it is to play and that does not alone make good music. Also you have it backwards when you discuss "ranging up and down the fret board". You don't understand octaves and building on a phrase. You somehow think sitting in one position proves superiority yet that is the easiest way to play music. Difficulty does not make music good anyway.

I told you once before that sometimes the simplest melody and arrangement can make for the best listening experience. Always on 10 like most of your bands makes for intense bordom. You have to take a break, "Silence" as I told you before plays a major role in good music as well as bridge changes. Your music does neither one. Just one long mono tone all the way through.

Boring as fucking HELL!!

So I'll come down to your level and just resort to name calling and musician bashing like you do, it's the only language you truly understand.:lol:

Y'all do realize Nzinga is just an attention wh0re right?

He just wants to create threads to see how much he can get them to grow by creating nonsensical arguments that entice you to reply.

He ain't even posting p0rn.

Again, you miss the point. Its not unecessary. There is a change in sound perception when you go from high E to Low E and then even lower E and then even lower E. Try it on a piano. It makes good use of sound to keep the listener interested. It also makes the sound fuller when utilizing chords. Calling it unnecessary motion proves you know nothing.

You're like talking to a dead carcass in the road. The person said it is a matter of taste. Closing your eyes doesn't mean anything if the person who likes metal is the one closing his eyes, he will still think metal sounds better. That is individual taste like the poster said.

You are backwards. Actually technique would lend itself more to being able to factually analyze who is better and closing your eyes would be more towards music taste. But as usual, you think its the other way around. You need help.

I am a student of classical guitar so unfortunately, I do understand music more than you think I do. What you have to realise is that the discussion on this forum is for the benefit of all, not just a few who understand music theory. If you want to talk about staves, clefs, scales, intervals, arppegiation,etc.... that your business. I am not going there.

You might ask why I am learning classical guitar, it is simply because I want to compliment the knowledge I have an introduce a slightly different element...Also, one of my friends who has a PhD in music, whose father was a famous musician back home, has advised that I would benefit from this...

Now if you think that my presentation is combative and strident, keep in mind that at one time I was conciliatory, but invariably, every post I made would be met with revulsion and hostility. I simply started telling it as it is. Facts are what they are. Our musicians are better than yours. Deal with it.

You are a classic example of why I became an in-your-face type of poster. After saying all that cowardly bullshit, you then turn around characterise my music as boring. As compared to what? To one melody, one rythm, one tempo, synthesised music that Americans play? Get the fuck out of here. The music we play is polyrythmic, multistage, expertly concieved and incomparably played heavenly sound..

I a NOT giving an inch. We are gonna through our hats in the ring, and may the best win.

I do not give a fuck about classical music, I do not listen to it.... I am more interested in being able to learn how read and play music at high level. Then I will turn around and apply this to a project I have, which is related to the love of my number 1 music (traditional African music)..

exactly. if cats would ignore people like him, Halo & 51SimpsonRd then the attention whores would go away. STOP FEEDING THE TROLL

 Yeah I know. I just like arguing with his dumb ass!

You are not the first one, and as long as you do not become needlessly mean spirited, you can keep off the ignore list where many of the people who could not get enough of talking to me ended up.

Eddie Hazel & Michael Hampton!!!!

You know what, you are insulting me now. In this post, someone invoked Goerge Benson, who by stringing arppegios, at least came to the bar of a good guitarist, and then you go and post this crap that sounds like a mosquito...Come to me when you understand good guitar..

There is no such thing as "greatest"
Art is subjective.
There is different; there is virtuoso. There is no "greatest" because there is no way to know, determine or measure that. Its art.
Enjoy great musicians for what they do in their respective fields/genres of music.

If being dumb benefits all then no one benefits. Spreading knowledge (if you had any to spread) would be the benefit, not dumbing down the conversation. Unfortunately those words you posted is what makes music and so it is relevant to speak about. So you don't need to go there because you are not capable to do so.

You might ask why I am learning classical guitar, it is simply because I want to compliment the knowledge I have an introduce a slightly different element...Also, one of my friends who has a PhD in music, whose father was a famous musician back home, has advised that I would benefit from this...

It never crossed my mind because I know why. You are like a nigga who jerks off to white porn. You hate white people, but them white bitches look so good to you that you can't stop. Same thing here. You secretly love that classical shit, but at the same time you think you are betraying Africans by admitting it. I see through your bullshit. No one is going to study classical for years and get a pHD just to add a snippet (small amount) of what they learn to African music. You learn that shit because you love it and you know it, and I know it.

Also, one of my friends who has a PhD in music, whose father was a famous musician back home, has advised that I would benefit from this...

So, you refer to your friend whose father is back home? So if you are in Africa, then back home could be America? OR you are in AMERICA right now and refering to "back home" as Africa? OR you are some place else in Africa or otherwise and refer to another place in Africa. However, when most people say "Back Home" here, they refer to other countries (sometimes states) but mostly countries far away. My point is if you are here in America, why do you Africans hate it here so much but always want to be here and study. If Africa is so great, stay the fuck over there and study. I was in the hospital today listening to an African doctor here. Why is he not in Africa being a doctor if America is so bad? Cause y'all mutha's love it here just like a bad ex-wife. Hate it and love it at the same time.

Now if you think that my presentation is combative and strident, keep in mind that at one time I was conciliatory, but invariably, every post I made would be met with revulsion and hostility. I simply started telling it as it is. Facts are what they are. Our musicians are better than yours. Deal with it.

First, this is only the second time I have addressed you in a thread. The first time I addressed you I was cordial. So basically with that poor attitude you have, you alienated someone based on the actions of others which just gets you more of the same. It is a "self fulfilling prophecy" (sociology term in case you didn't know that becasue you are just an African... LOL) meaning you make true what you predict based soley on the prediction. Therefore, you get what you put out. Had you talked to me intelligently from the start, you wouldn't have to be combative and strident. As far as the best musicians, the only thing I have to deal with concerning African musicians, is dealing with the overbearing boredom and childish musicianship that they convey. They aren't even worthy of the label musician. Let's call them noise makers which more acurately describes their amateuristic performances.

Again, you created the beast. Would be no need for in your face if you started a different way when our paths first crossed. We could go around in a circle; I say your music is boring and you say mine is boring, "Ho Hum", back and forth. Ok, I'll add the latest stroke to the circle.

Again, polyrhythmic, multistage is all well and good, but Africans do not know how to use it. You put too much in until the whole purpose is lost. I'll give you the perfect example because you need things spelled out, after all you're only African, what do you know? Don't answer that, it's a rhetorical question which you wouldn't understan either.

Getting back to the example; If one person sits across an empty coliseum and yells to another person on the other side, a single sentence, the receiver will clearly hear and be pleased by the sound that makes logical sense to them. BUT if the coliseum is full of people and they all yell something diferent at the same time, the receiver will perceive the sound as NOISE, not being able to make sense of the communication. That is what that African bullshit sounds like, a hodgepodge of fucking noise. Multistaging is lost, polyrhythms are lost and it reeks of a PILE of SHIT!

I a NOT giving an inch. We are gonna through our hats in the ring, and may the best win.

I hate to be petty, but I kinda am when I'm talking to a bone head. Let me correct your sentence for you so, as you put it, the regular people can understand, which is what you sound like with every sentence you utter.

Your sentence should read: "I am NOT giving an inch. We are gonna THROW our hats in the ring, and may the best win."

Normally I don't rag on writing because most times it is "typos", "slang", "carelessness"...but when you use "through for THROW" that's where I draw the line . Learn how to talk nigga!

I do not give a fuck about classical music, I do not listen to it.... I am more interested in being able to learn how read and play music at high level. Then I will turn around and apply this to a project I have, which is related to the love of my number 1 music (traditional African music)..

Stop lying nigga! You know you like classical music.

Let's analyze what you just said to prove you're a fucking Lier. You claim western is simplistic. The west brought classical from europe to the west. Although there were a few classically trained black composers, it is largely a white music even if it didn't start that way (I don't claim to be an authority on its origins).

By your own words, you claim you want to learn classical, and I quote:
I am more interested in being able to learn how to read and play music at HIGH LEVEL.
So what you're saying is you need to got to the WHITE man to learn how to play music on the HIGHEST level, because African music is at such a LOW level, you have to add classical to it to make it WORTH anything.

By your own words nigga! You admit that white classical is of a higher level than that African bullshit you listen to.

So you're a fucking lier, EITHER you really like classical, OR you don't like it and you know it is SUPERIOR to AFRICAN. Has to be one or the other.

You Idiot!
:smh:

You are not the first one, and as long as you do not become needlessly mean spirited, you can keep off the ignore list where many of the people who could not get enough of talking to me ended up.

Well first of all, I don't need your approval to stay off the ignore list. I could care less if you put me on your ignore list. Whether you acknowledge what I say or not does not mean I cannot still post my opinion. Someone will read it and they will see how stupid and ignorant you are even if you don't see it.

So to that end I say what the fuck I want, mean spirited or not, without fear of retribution or ignore lists.

I hope you do ignore me, that will just show what I'm saying strikes a cord. I say what the fuck I want ... BIATCH!!

:smh:

1. Playing Classical guitar has nothing to do with playing classical music

2. English is the language of the English, not the Americans.. If your high school diploma is not from Cambridge University, shut the fuck up about English.

3. You never heard about multistage, polyrythmic music until you heard me mention it. You still do not know what it is, so again shut your mouth. It is an African concept, manifested by Africans only...

4. When you can show me someone from where you come from who knows what a rythm guitar is, come back and talk to me, otherwise I am done.

This 14-year-old kid is superior:

a. superior to what or whom?
B. What the fuck is he playing, since his rythm is disjointed..
c. Technique is not an end in itself; close your eyes and then judge the music...
d. From the point of view of classical guitar, his technique is very good on the left hand is good; on his right I am not so sure....but this is a case of knowing the job but not producing a good product...But he is 14 years old...

Beyond the obvious picks like prince or even lenny kravitz... I would put up Eddie Vaan Shaw.

I'm not even understanding why we are debating if one guitarist is greater than the other...these guitarists play different types of music...I won't even argue the point of whether one artist could play another genre of music...just enjoy the different types and let it go at that...

I fixed it for you. I knew it was crap before I heard it. The guitar is tuned in that awful disto mode, and with a typical American guitar, gimmicks and needless speed take precedence of fundamental music playing. Of course in order to facilitate those guitar shenanigans, the entire bullshit is overlayed over simple melody defined by nothing but a repeated bass pattern. This might be good in your country, to us it is nothing. This man is not even making music, but simply producing ugly sound from his guitar...

This an unknown guitarist from Botswana and just listen to beautiful melody he defines on the strings. This brilliant man arpeggiates brilliantly and ranges in and out of single strings into 6ths... I always laugh when Americans starting invoking names like Prince, as if a name has ever plucked a note on a guitar. We close our eyes and judge them with our ears and 99% of Americans fall short...
