We have this discussion before WTF is up with West Africans thinkin they shit is better.

1st of the its not the same context to judge. Nigerians and Most of West African don't have a concept of COMPOSITION, PLACEMENT, STRUCTURE AND RAW INGENUITY THAT THE WORLD, Specifically Americans are exposed to. Its not Personal its Cultural. PERIOD.

KING SUNNY ADEM, FEMI & FELA KUTI, Have a great catalog but lets stop playing the same phrasing and remove your own feelings and look at the music. Its mostly the same shit. The reason you think they are automatically canonized is because you probably grew up listening to the crap and have a lil place in your heart for it so you waste our time arguing dumb shit.
I GREW UP IN DC AND KNOW GO-GO MUSIC SHOULD STAY WITH OUR 68 SQUARE MILES.

BUT WITHOUT RANKING ORDER YOU HAVE TO CONSIDER
Jimi Hendrix, B.B. King, Eric Clapton, Chuck Berry, Jimmy Page of Led Zeppelin, Keith Richards of the Rolling Stones, Jerry Garcia of the Grateful Dead, Carlos Santana, George Harrison and even JOHN MAYER has waaaay better composition and musicality than any African.

.05 POST!

Thats all? I love this music, try 20 years, every day and every night, whether you are dead or alive

Intno one trying to hear that shit you talkin

No matter what you think, you are not every one, and even if we could only play for the Japanese, as we have, we would be playing to half as many people as live in America. But we are playing for 900 million Africans, which makes our audience 3x that of America. Therefore before you purport to speak for others, you might want to think again. Furthermore, the fact that you are answering me means you are listening.

Sit your ass down somewhere and eat some cous cous or somthing

And you will sit your ass somewhere and eat chitlin when I do that?

Why dont you just present the artist and a bio instead of talking shit

Maybe I want to do me...You would have no problem if I said the best basketball players in the world are in America would you? It is the truth, but it is as true to say that the best musicians are Zairians. Apparently you have a problem with this because it says that someone other than an American is the best at music. How is that my problem?

and putting them against Worldwide stars....

If I can post so many musicians who so much better than all your world stars, could be it that your world stars are world stars only because of where they come from and not because of what they can do?

You realize you are doing a disservice by the way you present them dont you.

Again you are doing me instead of you. As long as I post any musician who is different from what you listen to, you will hate. All you want are the psuedo African rappers who by their work glorify American art. But if I show someone who is better, you get angry because you are afraid that it is taking the light from you. You think I do not understand what is going on?

People instantly look at them objectively because of your simple ass.

When an American plays in Africa, people take their hard-earned little money and attend his show. When an African plays in America, only Africans may attend his concert. I have lived in America longer than all the Americans on BGOL put together have lived in Africa. I know what I am talking about.

There is an African proverb that describes your mentality. It says "A child who has never travelled thinks his mother is the best cook"...

That applies more to YOU than anyone else.
I am in this country and I have been to many others. I know all your American music. I have travelled to your country and eaten your mother's cooking and it is deficient. You do not know anything about African musicians and when I show that our mother's cooking is
better, you become derisive, condescending and angry. Surprising how much better we are than you, isn't it. As for a cac like you, you should not even talk because you do not create any music. Look, you are even trying to steal my proverb.

That proverb is pretty old and certainly not yours. Here is the deal with you. You have been to Africa and have chosen to base your entire identity around that. I am happy you have been to Africa, if that is what floats your boat but everyone is not interested nor impressed by that fact. There is more to life than "having been to Africa" and most of us really don't care. That's why I quoted Stevie earlier, Africa is your "thing" and you don't know how to handle it.

The proverb is old and from where? That is a Bemba proverb from Zambia and Zaire... I am sure you have forgotten the nonsense you said earlier in this thread that you can play Popolipo's solos without problems..In addition to claiming to know Bemba proverbs, that is your second lie..I have not just been to Africa. I am from there and was born there. I am more African than coal is black

Ok...everything you have said is probably true, but Popolipo is the best guitarist in history.

Most of that shit Zinger post's sounds like the background music to weekend at Bernie's. :smh::smh:

Really, what is better, the sampled stuff in which no one plays any live instruments as they play in America, or the same staid music played by the same 4 or 5 session musicians everyone hires?

I got a couple words that will kill all this shit where it stands, Hendrix-1968-Woodstock-star spangled banner, think what you will Im out

I didn't claim to know any proverbs I heard that from my mother when I was a kid. You accused someone of stealing YOUR proverb. It doesn't matter where it came from because it did not come from you. And lets not talk about playing the guitar anymore okay? You know too little about guitar playing to even realize how little you know. Maybe in 4 years or so when you get some chops we can talk about that again.

This african shit sounds like fuking hell. It has always been shit and always will be. Every fucking group sounds like the last. This shit is a waste of a good guitar. Sounds like they are playing some fucking play school toy guitar that you press the buttons and it makes noise. There ain't one goddamn guitarist over there that can hold a candle to th worst shit over here. You keep talking about grand funk being bad, that shit is music to my ears compared to this african bullshit.

You must have been jerking off while you listen to this shit and associate beating off with this music. That's the only way anyone could stand it is to associated with blowing a few loads. But them again if I was power washing some bitches back listening to this shit my dick would go down.

The groups palying this shit look like a bad fuckin rainbow standing in a line picking one string out of six.

Nigga, shove this shit up your ass once and for all where it belongs....in a Shit trap.:lol:

Jimi Hendrix = Known World Wide As The Best
No Need to Post a Youtube Clip

But Here is My man George Benson, watch the Skills

Americans...Americans..Americans...:smh::smh::smh::smh:

Let me say this... What they teach us about guitar is this: the best player are the ones who can do as much with the least movement up and down the fretboard as an average players down...If you understand the strings, you can get all those notes without having to range up and down the fretboard as George Benson did. Actually, when all these people were talking about Hendrix, I thought they would bring up Wayman Tisdale or Benson, not that bum Jimmi Hendrix..who I am not going address anymore because I believe I have made the point...

Now for Mr Benson, who is from Pittsburgh, and whose music I listened to growing up, to you in America, he is a good guitarist. To us this is average music. Here is Diblo running through those notes and producing more coherent music than your man. This is the stuff that Popolipo would listen to one time, repeat and then improve..

Lesson: Produce music, not tricks. You remove all the other instruments and Mr Benson is dead in the water with his guitar,,

Here is Olivier Tshimanga playing this same sort of music. I asked
him why he did it, he said it was easy and he just wanted to range
up and down the board...Utterly no rehearsing, which was the point
of this gathering.

Olivier Tshimanga is a studio rat, and as he has told me before, before, practise is the only away you get better. Here (from about 2:43), he demostrates that you can hit Mr Benson's notes without ranging up and down the fretboard...and play good music. I was trying to find the set of clip which are more extensive but I do not remember them (forgive me).. Please scroll to the 2:43 mark and go from there because Olivier and his friends are running their mouths
