First of all, lets not put Grand Funk Railroad in the argument, they are famous for bad guitar playing. As a person who has played guitar for many years, several professionally, I judge the skill of a guitar player simply by virtuosity, how difficult what they do is to recreate. What your guitar players do is rather easy for the average guitar player to reproduce while what Jimi Hendrix does is very difficult to reproduce. Don't let the distortion fool you, there is a lot of skill behind what he does. You are always pushing people to listen to your guitar players so why don't you really listen to Jimi sometimes. While you're at it, listen to George Benson, another person very difficult to reproduce. I remember you saying that you were trying to learn to play so you probably don't really understand what I am talking about so you should just take it from the many real guitar players on this board who can hear with an educated ear the superiority of the guitar players in your own back yard.
I used to play basketball in Africa, and all of us had never seen a basketball game before. Needless to say our skills were concocted and rudimentary. We never heard of fundamentals and practised bullshit tricks like backwards shots (which we saw in American movie)... It was a revelation when I saw an actual NBA game, and to this day, I am always trying to learn the method of basketball so that when I go home, I can impart fundamental technique and strategy... Of course I will never be as good as an American, but I know enough to spare young people the ignorance of the game with which I played..
What has this got to do with music... The fact that Jimmi Hendrix played a right-handed guitar with his left hand does not mean the sound that came out was better than than those who played the guitar the way it was meant to be. The sound that came out of it was still ugly. There is no short cut. But Westerners did not know any better and they ran with it. The bottom line is that his technique was primitive, the tone of his sound was horrible, his skill was rudimentary. The sad thing is that western guitar has remained stunted at or below his level, probably out of dogmatism.
Popolipo is the best, but there are a thousand guitarists who are better than Jimmi Hendrix in Zaire. Basketball is what you do; guitar is what Zairians do.
Grand Funk railroad is terrible like all Western guitar like Jimmi Hendrix. To you Hendrix guitar may be difficult; to us it is disorganised, chaotic and rudimentary, and if anyone ever parlayed it on stage, the people would beat him up if he did not give them back their money.

Les Paul evidently had a good ear, at least from this clip. Not bad... We thank him for inventing the hard body electric guitar.. But we do know that Dr Naismith would never be able to convert an alley oop alone in the backyard, never mind in today's NBA....Respect to the inventer, but as I have always said, cacs have no business handling any musical instrument other than an Oboe..

I told them that I will try both and one of them will go back... I wanted a guitar I used to have that has an inbuilt amp that you can play back to yourself in the headphones...but I did not see it.
If I say that Black Americans are the best basketball players in the world, Brazilians are the best footballers, Africans are the best runners, am I lying or am I telling the truth? Since no one can refute the validity of my statement, am I ignorant or honest? The evidence is empirical. I have listened to cacs, and the verdict is out: they cannot play music worth a crap. In every country with cacs, there is no music of substance being created. All the music in the world comes from black countries... You can call me ignorant if you want, but that will reflect on you more than me, for contesting facts...

I can't find the thread where you said you were just learning to play but those guitars prove you are a beginner, as does looking for one with a built-in amp. Great musicians come in all races but of course, you suffer from limited perspective and don't know any better.
