Yeah, the press over here are making a big issue of it. Big deal I say.

My son woke me up at 3:30 talking bout "I'm scared" I let him in the bed then tried to read, then tried to study then came here!

Wow, so it wasn't just the US media making a big deal about it. Is the fuss being made more by the UK's media, or has the Queen publicly stated that she has an issue with Michelle giving her a hug? I saw a picture that showed the Queen hugging Mrs. Obama back. It didn't seem like too much of an issue then, but apparently it is. How are the good people of the UK reacting in general?

This issue goes back to the etiquette when addressing the head of the royal family here in the UK. For anyone addressing the queen the men are always told to bow your head and the women to take a bow.

The general public imo really don't give a hoot about this. The only people going on about this are the ass licking royalist and newspaper editors.

OK, so from what you're saying it seems to me that the media there, just like their American counterparts are making a mountain out of a mole hill. Seems like it's not really a big deal to most of the people there, but the media is focusing on it to try to sell newspapers and get people to watch their television programming. It's almost like how the media here were/are so fascinated with Michelle Obama's arms (e.g. her wearing sleeveless shirts, dresses, etc.)...:lol:...Who gives a fuck about someone's arms like that? :lol::dunno::lol:

CT. You're spot on with the above comment. Believe it or not, there are those over here in the UK who are making the same issue about Michelle's arms.

Ah...

There have been some changes in monarchies in the past ten years and as one of the only left, (if not the only one left), you have to wonder if there aren't 'those' that try to keep them relevant...that explains a lot though. Thanks!
