I doubt it, in Brandon's case if I recall correctly they did hold a closed casket funeral at the start of Season 3. His mom got up and cussed everybody out and said Fuck The Chi, then she came back later on and shot Douda.
I do like having Reg back, because for a long time the best part of this show has low key been Jake. Post HS Jake gives 0 fucks, he ain't simping or on any sucker for love shit like the other teen boys. You could clearly see Reg's influence on him as he grew older, even thinking back to him not backing down to Zay when he pulled a gun on him. That kinda heart and street bravado is pure Reg. So it should be interesting to see those two interact once again. Especially since Trig ain't been about shit since he became Vic (but at least he's off the transformers this year, so that's progress).
lena waithe def has an agenda and doesn't hide it, so expect more fuckery with the plots, but the network seems to love it...already renewing for s8 out the gate,

started out as a cute big girl when the series started and morphed over the years - was a beat down mom in the beginning, they they started letting her glam up a bit each season and wear those outfits...women out there saying ya'll big and beautiful better watch this one to see how it's done
