The server is still fucking up on the admin side. I should be able to upgrade plugins in the admin area, but it isn't working. The Admin area went out early today (I couldn't get in). I just kept trying stuff until I got it back up.
This kind of stuff always works itself out. My Admin guy Aint working hard for me right now. I'm going to work with the guy who made the dark theme and see if he can do a manual install. I'll keep you updated.
I don't know if the actual theme is the problem. I'm having problems with the upgrade system, The Dark Theme is what people care about. Most of my plugins are not acting right.
You've tried repairing and optimizing tables in the database? Clearing caches?
Or may need to strip the extra plug-ins, reinstall the theme. Then apply each plug-in one by one and see what breaks the site when installed.
Still doesn't make sense to me this day and age of so many things like phones/Windows having a default dark theme that Xenforo doesn't have a native dark theme.

Two options
Some say it's native in Xenforo 2.3? I think you said you went to 2.2.x?
Then the other option, explain to your web guy, should be simple is to create a "child" theme to the native theme installed, so it's a copy. Then you can alter the colors in that "child" theme. You can just turn everything dark and make accents whatever colors

Unmaintained - XF2.2 Default Styles (FREE) - No Template edits!
This was just a default dark style thread. But i decided to give some other style colors a crack. I am sure i would have missed something i forgot to do with-in these styles! But these are FREE to download and use with Zero Template Edits...

Fam I feel the same it‘s been at least a decade or more since I wasnt using for dark theme, this default one is bright like a motherfucker.Using the default theme after years on dark.
Is there a way to put the preview post back? I used to use that to check for spelling and if something doesn't look right on a post?

Viewing of this board? Switch to default theme, then you can change your viewing to dark in your own browser. It was explained earlier in the thread
The problem is at some point in time you have to click on a button in the admin section that says install. When you press that button the entire website goes down or the admin section goes down completely.@HNIC I found a way to do it.

I'm going to find a way to get everyone a dark theme. I have thought about just modifying the existing theme to look dark (I think you broke it down in more technical language)

when i click that then it doesn't show anything
Brother @Adam Knows when you scroll down you will see UI.X Dark Theme
Click on it (UI.X Dark Theme). Once you click on it you will see Style Chooser / use default style
and under style chooser you will see Xenforo Default
Click on Xenforo Default and you are good.

People here are complaining about this feature. It is on a lot of message boards and I always liked the feature and it comes in handy. I would leave it alone, HNIC.

I like it as well. Since it's been there I have seen several thread previews listings repost spin offs by the same user.

Oh shit I thought the board was down since Tuesday until I just scroll down just now and eventually maneuvered through the mini shambles that was dark mode… now I’m here in all white land clear as day
So did I. If possible force everyone off the dark theme. I was on Twitter looking for news about BGOL.

The board will be down March 29, 2023 for probably 12 hours plus.
We are changing the Server operating system so I can upgrade my current version of PHP.
The PHP upgrade allows me to install this ratings plugin that was requested by @Lexx Diamond

I'm also going to upgrade my version of Xenforo next week, probably between April 01 - April 07 2023.
The downtime for the board upgrade will probably last 2-3 hours max.
I'll continue to update this thread, I'll send a mass PM when I make changes.
This is why I took a break...i said was going to come back when the NFL draft started...now look at me..lol
