Star Wars The Last Jedi (SPOILER Discussion thread)

This is the dumbest post I’ve seen in this thread. How was this shit confusing.

Ren clearly said he abandoned the Sith Order.

And if you want to get fucking Real... Vadar killed the Emperor in the very first trilogy to save his Jedi Son. Did you even watch Star Wars? What the fuck are you talking about?

The entire premise of Star Wars is the internal conflict between the Jedi Order and the Sith. They switch sides all the time.

The biggest difference in this Film is that Ren killed his Master and abandoned both orders... to bring down the entire thing. That’s new to Star Wars.

Plus thats one of the main Sith philosphys. The rule of two. The apprentice main goal is to become stronger than his master and to kill him to take his place. Then to find his own apprentice to continue the cycle.

The Last Jedi has the lowest audience score of ANY star wars film

Beating Revenge of the Sith (57%) for lowest score

:idea::idea::idea:
Fuck RT

And fuck the Star Wars nerds!!!!!!!!

Shit was completely fire

Snoke wasn't SITH tho

Just cause u dabble in the dark side doesn't mean u sith

Mace windu gets his power from the dark side

May the force be with all u niggas

Man luke projected himself across the fucking galaxy in budda mode

Nigga was fast as shit

Kylo ain't want no smoke

And u feel allllllll the force tension between them from the "gravity" rising.

Nigga went under his light saber limbo style

Luke can't be fucking with at all

My nigga Yoda came thru and still teaching lil luke the Jedi game.

Can't wait till Rey gets max power next movie and see All the Jedi ghosts and learn everything.

And where the fuck is that green saber with the all black handle? I bet that shit in R2D2 posted.

Y'all niggas peep how that lil black boy was speaking broken English

Them the future Jedi

That broom moved to that boy when he got hiss Jeffery on

Star Wars has always played it fast and loose with the rules of its universe. The bombers erk me (how can you "drop" bombs in space). That whole idea should have been scrapped in script stage. Who would fly in something like that so fragile?
Alas, I turned my mind off and got past that.

To me, the Snoke, Rey, Luke dynamic was the story that made the movie. Everything else was just filler (filler that was not so good).

Flying Leia...smh I don't know who wrote that shyt but they need their ass kicked...

They have turned Finn into C3po...smh

My ole lady has hopes that he will be Rey's first apprentice but I'm not so hopeful.

Despite that...loved the throne room scenes and Luke completing his training.

Maybe a strong 6 out of 10.

Ps. Was that white haired rebel Rex? Nice easter egg.

I also really liked It better than force awakens. although I felt Snoke was defeated to easily.

I honestly think this was the only way to defeat him... with how the film set him up.

He was way to powerful for those two to defeat him in combat. Dude was doing shit that I never saw done with the force.... Connecting two people across galaxies. And moving Rey without lifting a hand.

You would have needed Luke to beat him.... and this isn't Luke Story. I think it was the right call.... plus it was completely unexpected. Like when Samuel L Jackson got eaten in the first 30 minutes of Deep Blue Sea. You knew it was going to happen, but you didn't expect it to happen that soon. It shakes thing up and makes you even more invested in the end game... because now you know Anything can happen.

Here's the problem... according to the folk behind TFA snoke was NOT a Sith!

The way I saw last jedi after kylo killed snoke he was looking to reestablish the Sith rule of two.

Sadly they kinda jumbled that up and
We didn't get any back story or insight into snoke.

In TFA we're told kylo is master of the knights of Ren but they seem to have abandoned that idea.

They doing my mans billy Dee williams wrong man

Also peep game

I heard Finn was lando and leia love child they dumpped off to the empire so shit couldn't get back

Remember he wasn't a clone and thasma was a white "something" with blue eyes(obviously not a clone)

And who was them red niggas and was they droids?

Completely agree... Which makes this movie even more important because Ren wants to end both orders.

I think People are overlooking how important this is. He didn't kill Smoak because he wanted more power.. He killed Smoak because he realized that his way was wrong, but he also realized that the Rebel way is wrong as well. Right now he is neither Jedi nor Sith... this is huge unprecedented shit right here.

The closet thing that we have had to this was Asajj Ventress and she was closer to a Jedi in the end then a Sith.

Snoke was mad pussy

Darth Sidious and Yoda woulda destroyed that nigga

I think he can read minds but was lying

Kylo and Rey are def connected

Remember kylo couldn't see Rey background

Luke was peeping shit too but didn't say shit till they connected

I was thinking about this....

But I saw Billy Dee last year at Comic Con and he wasnt looking good at all..... I don't know if his health would allow him to be in a film like this. Dude was struggling. I'm just glad that I got a signed Colt 45 picture from him.

techinically, there are no siths. they established that with the TFA. Snoke is well versed in the force. the sad thing would be if we don't anything about snoke. if don't then he was a mcguffin, something in the story to move the plot along.

6.0

Saw the movie today and it was a disappointment. What's the point of this new trilogy; the original trilogy told the story of this small group of rebels fighting the big mighty empire, the prequels told the story of how Anakin became Vader and how the Jedi order was destroyed and how the Republic fell. This new trilogy seems like a remake of the original trilogy. They fucked up by killing Luke, so now the next movie won't have Leia in it. Leia using the Force to fly to the ship was silly. This movie took parts from Empire and Return of the Jedi. I only liked 2 parts in this damn movie: the opening scene and when the Skywalker twins reunited, that's it. Snoke was a joke, they hyped him up just to have him die like that. The fight scenes were horrible, you would think that Kylo's sword skills should be better since he was trained by luke and you would think Snoke trained him as well. Kylo Ren sucks as a villian and Rey is boring as a wannabe Jedi. Why bring all these classic character back only to kill them makes no sense. We have waited 30 years to see a mature Jedi Master Luke Skywalker but you turn him into a grumpy old man, give him no lightsaber fight scene, and then you give him a 5 minute scene with Leia. I hope they don't bring Lando back for the next one because he will surely die. This movie should have been great, they dropped the ball trying to move away from Lucas.

The point is that this Trilogy is setting up the End of it all.... End of the Jedi Order/ End of the Rebellion.

Each Side has been trying to Find Balance within the Force... When the Balance might be from an understanding of what drives the Sith & what drives the Jedi.... and finding a balance between the two.

This was the point of Yoda's Speech to Luke.... The old ways have not worked. It's more to being a Jedi then books. Luke realized that he had become Ben and that Destiny would have had him face his previous Student. He realized the same mistake.... but he also realized that if Ren actually did defeat him... it would be same beat that Obi wan faced with Anakin.

that's why it is important to see that Ren has a strong connection to the Light within in and Rey has a strong connection to the Dark within her..

Maybe the war will end if those two can find the balance between them.

Again.. Its another point of Star Wars. What has happened will happen again... Every Trilogy has followed the beats of the other and that they point.... Thousands of years of Endless war between opposing views of the Force.

This movie has set up to where we might have true end to this eternal conflict.

As for the fight scenes..... Kylo style has always been wild. That's the point of his character. His light saber is a reflection of that. It is pure flames...

I will agree that the one part that I do have problems with it Leia using the force to fly back to the ship... without them reestablishing that the Force is as strong within her as it is within Luke. I think people just overlook that part because she has never shown that type of command of the force before. I also have an issue with them killing Luke, but I had an even bigger issue with them Killing Old Ben in Star Wars.

Yall were on my case last movie when I said Ren had big paws on a puppy the huh lol

His strength on display full mf force this one right? We see how powerful Rey is and when it was time to get the Saber it was a stand still.

Had snoke close his eyes like prop Joe and murdered him.

Tossed general huggs across the room like I'm the fucking leader you bitch

Was not trying to do no honor 1 on 1 bullshit said nah let's shoot all of our guns at luke like fuck that bastard that didn't work he just saw this man take all their shots and not a scratch on him then said oh really? Our army's guns couldn't do it? I'll do it then and came right down

Luke knew he had to project cause Ren wasn't gonna hesitate to slice him. He didn't either. He liked Ren he wanted her to help him make a new order something new and she still holding onto the ideas
Ren did his thing
Said man fuck this mask yo. Yall gonna see me out here.

Ruthless supreme leader.

Let's get it !

You are correct... Its just easier to say Sith then Follower of the Darkside or Darkside follower.

I don't think of Snoke as a McGuffin.... the Story never set it self up as a Snoke is the end game villian. He was just background. He was basically like a reverse of Yoda in Empire in a way. Yoda was set up as the Big master in Star Wars and he was.... but no one really expected Yoda to just die in the middle of movie.... especially after Obi Wan died in the First Movie. I think Snoke was like that... Snoke was hyped up in the first movie to serve a purpose. Rey would have been no match for Snoke to handle 1 on 1. Just like the Emperor was to much to handle for Vader and Luke in the Return of the Jedi. It's not like the Emperor was fighting kats in the first movies. Hell vader had to pull some behind your back sneak shit just to finish him.

I think it was a character flaw of the time
The story was luke not his sis so ppl totally just didn't even acknowledge they're twins so both would have the force in them.

I enjoyed her tho but I came to see Ren do his thing and he delivered

I completely agree... .Adam Driver was MUCH better in this second film. Especially in the scenes were him and Rey were talking to each other and they didn't know why. Both thought they were Special and it turns out that they werent it was all a trap. That is what caused Ren to kill Snoke....

Snoke messed up in bridging the minds because it just made both of them more powerful like his force was the sun and their powers were solar panels

He's dead and they were able to do that shit at the end so they'll always be in contact and become so much stronger it's insane

Also can we talk about the huge reveal that contrary to what we thought..... Ren didn't destroy all of Luke's students. Come to find out.... He took some with him.

what happened to these kids..... and is it still possible that Rey was one of them and Ren lied to her.

If you go back to her vision... This could have been Ren and he has forgotten her or he pushed her out of his mind to protect her.

I think Snoke was lying.
They still saw each other at the end was Rey was getting on the falcon and she closed the door on him.

I also saw Ren as the star of this movie and Adam Driver did excellent.

A much better rewrite of Anakin's story from the prequels.

I loved the way he was screaming in rage to fire every muthafuckin thing we got at Luke when he saw him. And the contrast of the inner turmoil in his conversations and when he couldn't shoot at Leia's ship.

bills you get it.... I made that point yesterday.

This is the shift.

Snoke has bridged the two sides together in a way that has never happened.
