I have to have it my hands 1st to see if I like it due to size

Just go to tmobile and handle their HD2... its pretty much the exact same size. I went and handled it just to see myself earlier and the screen makes it more than worth it for me.

I did the same thing at a t-Mobile spot in Vegas. They had one in the back but you have to ask to see it. Real nice. Speedy and it felt like a good weight. Looks pro-fessional.

HTC just add a keyboard to this and you got me, Until then Im stuck with my touch pro2. Dont care how bulky u are, or how heavy. just do it!

HTC EVO 4G first impressions

by Andrew Munchbach on March 24th, 2010 at 6:17pm

We got some one-on-one time with the HTC EVO 4G today, and let us succinctly sum up our experience for you: wow. We’ll start with the screen… it’s gorgeous. 4.3 inches, enormous, easy to type on, responsive… it’s everything you want out of a touch screen. How’s the phones speed you ask? The product manager from HTC kept saying: “this isn’t the final software build, so there could be some lag” but to be honest, we couldn’t really find any. Opening Google Earth with 5 applications running in the background produced a tiny lag (3 seconds) but once Google Earth was up and running we were flying again.

The 1GHz Snapdragon processor really flexes its muscle in the EVO 4G. We pressed the product managers about a realistic battery life with 4G on, but all they could muster up for us was, “it’s good.” Bollocks. If you love HTC’s Sense UI, you’re really, really going to love this phone. The enhancements to Android’s UI are done with great detail and add minimal overhead to the phone’s resources (arguable, we guess). Widgets provide easy access to social media content, bookmarks, and other phone resources. You can update your “status” on several social media sites using HTC’s social widget. The EVO is a “with Google” phone and supports Exchange, Gmail, POP, and IMAP email accounts — although you can only have one Exchange account configured to the phone. We prefer having support for multiple Exchange accounts, but for most users this won’t be the end of the world.

Want more good news? The video camera is awesome. You can choose your desired resolution — we know you’re going to be keeping it in 720p — record, using either the front or rear facing camera, and upload to your favorite social media site, send via email or even transfer via Bluetooth. The quality is great and watching your videos play back on that screen is a real treat. We could go on and on about this phone but you get the idea. Great screen, very responsive, and, currently is in a class of it’s own as far as Android (and dare we say all) devices go. All Sprint and HTC will give us for a release timeline is “summer.” We’ve got June 21st circled on our calendars. Hit up the gallery for images!

UPDATE: The screen is not AMOLED as I originally wrote, I’m low on sleep. Sorry for the confusion!

That shit looks serious. An HDMI out? That shit is fucking me up. Gaawtdamn.
See this is FN with my nerves. I went o buy yhe HD2 today and that -ish was sold out EVERYWHERE. I was going to break my Verizon contreact to get it. now I see this for Sprint. This thing is crack. I can't believe that Verizon is not going to get something similar to this later in the year. Plus Verizon just took the NFL network away from Sprint.

I wish I knew what Verizon was getting. Looking at this with the kickstand, better processor, earphone jack at the top of the phone, hdmi out (Got damn) and the 8mp camera alread dates the HD2. Damn!!!! Decisions....

Remember 8mp does not mean a better picture.

VZW said they gonna drop a few LTE phones around dec or january 2011 b/c LTE is gonna go live in a around june in like 15 markets first its gonna be mifi's and cards then phones. This sprint device may end up on VZW but later this year or january 2011.

I'm interested in what the DROID 2 will be then its supposed to be a super phone too and motorola i don't think will let htc steal all the shine.

I do admit tho sprint got me interested if VZW changes their rates and adds additional fees and i don't agree i may jump early and go to sprint and cop this. But i need a keyboard tho...the on screen stuff sucks for the office programs

welp there goes my Samsung Moment. I do fux with my physical keyboard tho...oh well this phone caught my eye:dance:

Nice phone, but the lack of a physical keyboard is a turn off.

The touchscreen stopped responding on my Touch Pro a while back and it was a straight up NIGHTMARE!!! The only thing that saved me was the fact it had a physical keyboard. So I can only imagine what it would be like if that happened w/ one of these "touchscreen only" type of phones. The phone would've been useless. And those screens are NOT cheap to fix and they can't always be fixed right away either if the replacement parts are not available. After going through that I don't think I can fuck with a phone that doesn't have a physical keyboard.
:smh::smh::smh:

I'm with you man. I do like this phone and I may get it as a second line because I need one. Too much of an entertainment phone for it to be my primary phone. I'm still riding with the Pre as a primary phone because of the keyboard.

Physical keyboards is analog homie, you gotta step up to digital or fiber optic even

I doubt if keyboards will every go away. ;)

Amazing that "he who shall not be named" or his wingman still haven't shown up in this thread yet. 5 pages & not even a cameo

but as soon as there is one defective phone out of 1000's, he will run and make 5 threads about it

that nigggah is a clown

he's probably looking(teary eyed) at his iphone in disgust

I mean what can he say? The phone shits on the 3gs in pretty much every aspect so more than likely he'll just wait until the 4g to talk shit.
