"22 is MORE than enough"

This is one of the funniest threads I have read in the 17 years I have been coming to this site.
The funniest thing is those that were championing for Rousey haven't said shit since.
Those that knew better didn't have to say shit.
The bumping of this is so timely considering she pulled this crying wanting to kill herself shit.
Love this.
Bruh this is still true til this day :roflmao:

You don't understand. I'm coming from the angle of a guy that has SEEN female MMA fighters spar with men. I'm not guessing here. Rousey has trained at our school.I wasnt there that week but heard she rolled with quite a few guys that are way bigger than lil ass mayweather. In this Holm fight, look at her stance.Compare it to the Boxing stance. Boxers have alot more weight on their front foot and they aren't facing their opponent like Holm is. Holms stance is much more open which gives her that lateral movement to avoid Rhonda's clinch. Its clear as day to someone who trains. Honestly this whole argument is comparable to a dude that played HS football and watches football every week and arguing with women who swear the Niners are the best team in Football because they like their uniforms. Holms presented a totally different challenge than Mayweather would.

Nah man, this is like people who know how it would go down arguing with people who want to think this chick is gonna beat a male pro fighter 20 pounds heavier than her. You said you heard that she fought some dudes bigger than her at your gym... Ok, but you didn't see it, so you can't say for sure if those guys were the caliber of fighter thatt Mayweather is. ...and trust, with her being who she is, and camera phones being everywhere, if she was beating the shit out of male professional boxers (actually fighting, like trying to beat each other... punches to the head), it would be on video, and Dana White would have had that shit blasted out everywhere. What better marketing would there be than that? Floyd beats Rousey...

Also, were those male fighters she was 'rolling' going all out?

I use to fight stand up and mma....

I was 'decent' and I'm being generous.

But I was lean, athletic, north of 2 bills, a former D-1 athlete, and still in my 20's so while sparring a woman -who in most cases out skilled me- it didn't take much to for me to 'remind her' that she was fighting a full grown man if she got a lil to cute with it.

Training with a person, sparing with a person, and fighting a person are three different worlds.

I didn't know my head from my ass fighting wise but all those chicks I would trained with and sparred with I would have KILLED in a fight.

*two cents *

ninja this is like an epiphany.

training= zero competition, youre just trying to figure shit out.

sparring= trying to get your techniques to work on a real person, competition is present, but not super important.

fighting= total competition. you aint trying to get killed.

aint nothin ever going to be said on this forum thats truer than what you spit.

Fam I've done all three and if the difference between training and sparing is jumping the Grand Canyon, the difference between sparing in figthing is jumping out of the deepest trench in the ocean and landing on the moon. It's that big of a difference.

Anyone who hasn't fought anyone WHO KNOWS HOW TO FIGHT- either in the ring or the street- need to fall the fuck back and stay in their lane in these threads. Getting blasted in the face by someone who trying to put there fist through your skull as you're trying to do the same is a paradigm shifting moment that I know first hand.

this is what I can't get... Rhonda is a real fighter with glaring holes in her skillsets
she has lost really tough fights before and learned from them - she is a great olympic competitor (I know a few guys and a girl that got permanent injuries during trials for the US judo team) - for her thrive and medal is elite and takes a tough mind.

so after all of her time off and the experience how does she not watch the Holms video and see the problems?
How does she not pay attention to kata while training on striking?
How does she not try to learn more?

Everything else - strategy etc I blame on coaching

I believe she did all that but as soon as she stepped into the ring and heard that bell she had flashbacks from when Holly was kicking the shit out of her. She should've never took this fight, she's be basically in hiding this past year and then couldn't/wouldn't even do a press conference so that tells you she wasn't mentally ready to get back in the ring

Even after her loss I stand by my prediction. Personally, I hate the comparison because its just a way to drop Mayweather down a notch.I'd rather they compare her to a white boxer. That said, in a Boxing match,Rousey wouldn't last 1 min.In a MMA match Rousey is a clear favorite.I totally understand why many of you would think different, but my years of experience in a really good MMA school in which Rousey has visited and trained in the past gives me much more insight. We've had professional boxer dabble in MMA and its a TOTALLY different sport.
dumbass

Rhonda Rousey was on steroids. She used to be thick
and mascular, and yesterday, her legs looked stickly
Fuck her arrogant ass... Fuck her. I made a point to
watch this in a Buffalo Wild Wings in Plano, where I
know cacs gather, precisely because I wanted this
particular outcome, and to see the disappointment in
the faces of cacs... I know that in Brazil, Amanda Nunes
is a white person, but in the US, and as far as US cacs
are concerned, she is a black person....

she is shot

it doesnt matter what they do in training
she could have watched all the tapes, could have put it all together in practice
but when they hit the ring, they freeze...

thats a broken fighter

To be honest with you, I don't know how Ronda would ever get Floyd in position to get him to the ground. People talk about his shoulder-roll defense, but dude is extremely elusive. Dude has routinely pulled off some Sweat Pea type shit in the ring. Thats to say nothing of the fact that I've seen dude do some ill shit where he's able to quickly retreat with his upperbody, and break that backward motion to go in with a punch.

Man, before Ronda would have to eat too many punches, and I'm more than certain she has never seriously fought a man as elusive AND accurate as Mayweather.

You thinking she should have had a warm up fight? Would UFC have allowed her to fight a no hoper with no striking skills? Or are you saying retirement since the mental was gone? She would have never lived that down. Getting ran out of the sport after one loss. Despite my disdain for her arrogance and her trying to live off the Floyd name, she is a true fighter. I agree with your assessment but I don't think she had a choice Boss. It had to end up this way. She must have worked on adjustments but Holms beat that self belief out of her after media hype had taken it to unsustainable levels. It is what it is.
