The scene with the old man, ok I get the dude wants to meet the aliens, but he never even says what he's going to get from them to help him live.

Why is it that when the lady saw the old man she was shocked, but Idris' character and other shipmates saw him they never batted an eye?

Why the fuck did the robot infect the CAC with the alien in his alcohol? They never give his intentions

How the fuck does a person have their internal organs cut, get stapled, and in less than 10 mins gets punched in the gut, fights, runs, and jumps all over the screen?

What was the opening scene where the engineer eats the black ooze even about?

What were those holographic images running from?

If you can answer those then fine, but know I have a shit ton of other holes I can point out afterwards

I won't spoil anything, but I will say save your fucking money. That movie was boring as fuck and made no sense!!

I should have listened to you. I just came back from seeing it (well that and two other movies) and I was really disappointed. The plot had no depth. Things that were done seemed random, because there was no explanation. And the movie left too much unanswered. It's worth a watch on Blue ray, on one of those nights where you don't have shit else to do. But to pay $11--what I just spent to see it in 3D is a total waste. After the movie was over, I was so mad that it sucked so much that I sneaked into Men in Black III, and the Dictator, just to make the $11 bucks I spent worth it.

After reading some of the replies, I feel compelled to delve deeper into why I disliked this movie. As far as Prometheus being a prequel to Alien, that's nonsense. The only tie-in to Alien was the ending, when that thing came out of the "Creator." The movie purposely failed to explain why the "creators" created humans, why they chose to destroy them, and why they decided to make that bio-agent as a means of accomplishing the latter. Granted, I understand the nihilistic implications behind the creators motives, but other than that their actions were completely random--thus the plot hole. Secondly, why did the Android infect the scientist? Thirdly, what was the plot function of killing the two scientists who were left behind? Moreover, what killed them, and why did they mutate like that? In none of the Alien movies did anyone ever mutate into a zombie like entity and go on an insane killing spree. The movie failed to explain any of those plot holes. Really, the only thing good about the movie was the visual spectacle it presented. Other than that the movie is completely unwatchable.

Just saw it. I thought it was pretty fucking good! I took my 2 teenage sons and they liked it too. If you enjoyed "Alien vs Predator", save your money. If you're a grown ass man, check it out. I usually fall asleep in movies too, regardless. This was a good flick, man!

Just saw it in 3D. Disappointed as hell. Hardcore Alien film fan. (Been watching them shits on Scifi all week preparing for today.

Its not a bad movie but when your supposed to be the prequel to arguably the best scifi/horror film ever created I was expecting more.

-"They were already there or maybe already knew since they talked about the separated part of the ship being created. Also when she went to the medi-pod it said it was made specifically for a man not a woman. Meaning that it wasn't for the daughter but for the father, Wayland.

-The android infected him based on Wayland's orders. Remember he kept going back and putting on the helmet to talk to him? Remember he could read memories and watch dreams while they slept? Well that's what he was doing with his boss, communicating his wishes back and forth while he was in hyper sleep. They found the canisters and he suggested that he use the ingredients on someone "first" to see what it did.

-You can have open surgery if you are sedated well enough without passing out. This is very true, look it up. She wanted to live so that allowed her to withstand and stay awake during the procedure, there have been cases where doctors have been hurt and force to do abdominal surgery on themselves while awake and even without pain killers. *And also it was used in one the alien comics where a young explorer used the same medical casket on himself to remove a dead alien from his chest cavity.

What was the opening scene where the engineer eats the black ooze even about?

-It looks like he was testing the weapon. He sacrificed himself as the ship left. It didn't work entirely and parts of his DNA fell into the primordial river below and started to replicate. (Creating humans) I believe the grey ooze (bio weapon) is a cellular accelerator, that works buy causing the cells to race forward until they burn out. It also (the grey ooz) works doubly that it causes fierce mutations in certain lesser creatures, like humans and earth worms.

What were those holographic images running from?

-The ooze got out and backfired some way infecting them. They were trying to escape but couldn't.

I 1st THOUGHT that the Alien movie took place in 2037 but I read them old assed late 70s monitors wrong, did some research & found out it took place 2122.

I call bullshit on sir Riddley , the space jockeys where still found trashed from the same shit in the 1979 flick (possibly on there way to do what they set out to do ) so for him to say there's no relation is bullshit.
I know it's his flick , some shit matches up and some doesn't but it sounds like he's trying to justify why certain shit don't match up.

He'd best STFU with that ole bowlshit because that 1st flick came on last night & that shit could be literally stapled right after they flew that ship back to their land as all the imagery & designs are the fucking same.

People have to realize that if you look at it in a movie time-line sort of way, Prometheus is still two movies behind the original "Alien". Keep that in mind...

The Dictator was o.k. It had it's funny moments. The theater wasn't very full (I was nervous about sneaking into it because it was so empty) so I really couldn't cue off of the audiences' laughter. But I could tell that it's one of those movies where when other people laugh at the stupid parts you can't help but to laugh too. "So are you going to have a boy or an abortion"--I'm still laughing at that. And his penis in the window part, when he was on the zip-line, was funny in a shocking way. It was funny enough, I liked it.

On the real, it doesn't suck that much. It's the execution and inconsistency that leaves some things lacking.

Saw the 12:01 last night. The movie has a slow build up. But overall you cannot deny the religious/philosophical tones in this movie and leaves you discussing way after you walk out the theater.

Prometheus as a whole movie has many deep thought provoking premises that are mind blowing once contemplated. The execution could have been a little better but overall it's a good movie.

If you are a sci-fi nut. Go see the movie.

2) Most of the people on the ship were Weyland-Yutani employees and knew more about the mission than contractors. How would the captain not know?

3) He was instructed to during one of his "helmet conversations". In all of the Alien movies someone is intentionally exposed for research purposes.

4) It's a movie.

5) He used himself as the seed for life on Earth by breaking his cells down and letting the DNA reform into something new.

6) The engineers were running from the contaminated room. The real question is why the one who got decapitated ran to the room.

In the 1979 flick when they discovered the space jockey ship crashed on a small asteroid from a nd emergency help signal ( fist of all the jockeys native tongue is not English, which makes me think either the doctor or android could have Sent the signal).

That crashed ship contained face hugger eggs. There were no eggs in Prometheus .
The cylinders in Prometheus contained a black biological virus that basically mutates humans . The small worms rolling around in the Ooze, turned into thosee mutated snakes that killed the two scientist. Not a uber SciFi fan but how Scott told his story was somewhat interesting to me, having me have to refer back to the original flick for particular references.

I also share your view on how kat was looking @ them & wondered why he did the doctor like that with his hand gesture & power that came from it to her chest.

David got his 'dream' in a sense through using his head, pun intended.

Had to watch that cam more than once along with reviewing the 1st flick as so to not miss any details.

The shit was aiight.
