That shit was over two hours of crap. And the dude that keeps apologizing for it in the thread is making my point and doesn't even notice it "It doesn't suck that much"?? WTF?!? If you wanna waste your fucking money to see a movies that "Doesn't suck that much" then be my guest but you'll wind up coming back to this thread saying exactly wtf I'm saying.

The visuals are on point...

Thats about it though.

Many plot holes,

People taking actions that dont make sense.

"smart" people making stupid decisions.

Some major actions are not explained.

Pretty on the screen though.

Saw the 12:01 last night. The movie has a slow build up. But overall you cannot deny the religious/philosophical tones in this movie and leaves you discussing way after you walk out the theater.

Prometheus as a whole movie has many deep thought provoking premises that are mind blowing once contemplated. The execution could have been a little better but overall it's a good movie.

As with ANY genre specific movie, PROMETHEUS is gonna be great to sci-fi heads and fans of the series. Since the inception of the movie, I was grooming my son for the movie. All he knew of was the past 10 years of Alien/Predator movies and other spinoffs. But I made sure to explain to him the concept of the first 2 original films AND the religious/philosophical aspects of this one. If you can extrapolate on the storyline of the series, PROMETHEUS has potential to be great, and even provide a few more off- shoots.

That's what I'm hoping for. Off-shoots. Once you get past the execution of the film and get deeper into idea behind the film the implications are mind-blowing.

that dudes seeing this prequel w/o having seen the other alien movies may not just get it. there's so much hype around the movie but i don't think it will do that well with people with no reference to the 'alien' movies. sheit, most of the people going to see it prolly weren't even BORN when the first alien movie came out in 1979

Aliens 1 and 2 were good, this was nothing like alien except for like 2 parts, it freaking sucked.....Damn at least they could have shown Charlize naked in her "Meet me in my bedroom scene":smh:

It was good.....better than the Thing prequel, however It answered a couple of things but left me with more questions about the face huggers/aliens. Those looking for predator vs Aliens type action won't like It. Very story driven flick.

Why are people comparing it to Alien? The director already said this takes place in the same universe as Alien, but has its own story. Originally, it was supposed to be a direct prequel but turned into something else.

They saw a mural of the xenomorph.

Also, this movie muddles the life cycle of the xenomorph to pieces.

That's the major problem I had, it leads you to believe at some point in time, all stages of the xenomorph had to undergo some form of evolution.

He has been saying it for months that it is not an Alien prequel but obviously some fans will disagree with him because of some contradictions in the film.


The intent of the film was to focus the storyline on the Space Jockeys

After seeing the trailer, I was very excited to see this movie, and I'm not even a big movie guy.

it looks different and interesting. Sad to here there isn't much action in it though.

I'm still going to see it though. Frankly, ya'll kats opinions on movies mean nothing to me.

I call bullshit on sir Riddley , the space jockeys where still found trashed from the same shit in the 1979 flick (possibly on there way to do what they set out to do ) so for him to say there's no relation is bullshit.
I know it's his flick , some shit matches up and some doesn't but it sounds like he's trying to justify why certain shit don't match up.

If you've watched all of the Alien movies you'll remember that each time someone\something was infested the alien took bits of it's DNA on as it's own. That's why the in the 3rd movie it was so animalistic and dumb. It came from a cow. All they really did was leave room for 2 sequels, 1 for Dr. Shah, the other for the alien. They only showed what was inside of the first cave and the 2nd one may have had more traditional xenomorph-like features. The one at the end had non-metallic bones, no acidic body fluids, different teeth, and the tail was different.

Your right, although after aliens, I discredit all the other movies as straight trash. I act like they never exist.

Seeing that most movies today are set u for Sequels, That's how I went into it. I enjoyed it and Fassbender is that mofo

THIS mofo MADE Prometheus.. Rapace stood out also.
