Hybrid still requires gas and you now have to worry about two motors. hybrid doesn't have the torque of a full EV either.
Im thinking more about these times of uncertainty. Where torque doesnt matter. I wont be able to work for a possible year cuz of my industry. If I had to buy a car I would buy something that gives me choices, if gas goes crazy I got the choice to not use it.

Honestly, just buy a 1 year old Corolla and be done. They are well equipped and excellent on gas. They also drive well.
If you buy a hybrid or a full EV, you will be paying an unnecessary premium which will erode all the savings of gas.

New York City has released maintenance costs for its city fleet in 2018, and the city refers to the cost difference between its electric cars and gas-powered cars as “dramatic.”

The three all-electric cars — the Chevy Bolt, the Ford Focus Electric, and Nissan Leaf — were lowest in annual maintenance costs, ranging from $204 with the Bolt to $386 with the Focus Electric.

A few of the hybrid vehicles cost the city more than $1,000 in maintenance in 2018, and gas vehicles like the Ford Fusion and Focus checked in with a maintenance cost average of $1,621 and $1,805, respectively.

I rent cars for out of town DJ gigs, but outside of that everything is either public transit or Uber.

That said, if I were to buy a car it would have to be a hybrid.

Some of my gigs are up to 300 miles away and I have yet to see an EV with a 700 mile capacity. that means you need to find a charging station which is nearly impossible some of the rural backwaters I play weddings at.

Even if I could, charging one of those batteries can take up to an hour. That adds at least two hours to my work day.

I am seriously looking at a electric car for a second vehicle I think we all need to make that move in the next 10 years. The Tesla CEO is a odd dude sometimes but I could give him credit for putting electric cars on the map. GM and Ford could have did this but they was kissing the oil corporations ass too much

Just a reminder, if anyone decide to get a Tesla than use referral from someone, if a referral is needed than PM. You will get the free 2000 supercharging credits. Also, Tesla is keeping quiet but they are offering free FSD on in stock model 3 and Y.

Not long after unveiling the Cybertruck prototype last year, Musk started talking about making the electric pickup smaller to fit inside a regular garage.

Last month, Musk made several comments regarding the Tesla Cybertruck and how it will change when it reaches production.

He talked about how owners will need to wrap the electric pickup to get different colors, and he said that Tesla is updating the Cybertruck’s adaptive air suspension.

The CEO was asked what the biggest change is to Cybertruck from the prototype, and he responded that Tesla “reduced the size by ~3%,” made the “center line more level,” and “lowered the window sill height.”

However, Musk said today on Twitter that he reviewed the Cybertruck’s design with Franz von Holzhausen, Tesla’s Chief Designer, last night and they came to the conclusion that they can’t make the truck smaller:

“Reviewed [the Cybertruck] design with Franz last night. Even 3% smaller is too small. It will be pretty much this size [referring to the prototype].”
The prototype that Tesla unveiled is 231.7 inches long, 79.8 inches wide and 75 inches tall, with up to a 35-degree approach angle, a 28-degree departure angle and up to 16 inches of ground clearance.

Today, the CEO added that Tesla might release a smaller pickup truck later:

“We’ll probably do a smaller, tight world truck at some point.”
Musk didn’t elaborate on a possible timeline for that smaller electric pickup truck.

The automaker had been aiming for the Cybertruck to have the functionality and capacity of full-size pickup trucks while being able to fit inside average garages as smaller pickups can.

Tesla said that it plans to launch the two higher-end versions of the Cybertruck in late 2021.

Those two electric trucks will have between 300 and 500 miles of range and be equipped with dual- and tri-motor powertrains and start at $49,000.

A cheaper and lower range version of the Tesla Cybertruck that should start at just $40,000 is going to be available later.

We estimate that Tesla has already received over half a million reservations for the electric pickup truck around the world.

Electric bikes and scooters usage is definitely on the rise this summer.. It seems the vechile of choice for some

How yall feeling about EVs now? I hear some owners are going back to internal combustion because it takes too long to charge up.

On the other hand you have no worries about the price and availability of gas.

If range is sufficient it's a close call...

Same companies that fought tooth and nail to keep us driving internal combustion engines are now selling us EVs.

I should be taking delivery of my 2023 Ford F-150 Lightning Lariat ER All Electric truck in late January. I have a build date of first week of January.

Can't wait.

Gas. Still too hard to do trips with electric....

I went with electric because I don't do a lot of over the road traveling, but with these level 3 chargers everywhere you look, i can charge up in about 30 minutes from 15 percent to 85 percent. I may do some traveling for the hell of it because from what I've read, it's not bad at all if you plan your routes properly. I'm done with ICE (Internal combustion engines) from here on out.

Chose the Chevy EV truck over the Ford Lightning. Like the Chevy design better. Hopefully I'll have it by this fall or winter.
Wife has a gas powered car for road trips, but she might be electric too if the infrastructure improves over the next few years.

The availability of charging stations. Is my number one concern. Charging stations should be available in every state. And at least in every major city.
How many miles do you drive a day though ?
Honestly if you’re able to install a 240 volt 40 amp outlet in your garage , that’s all you need. I drive 70 miles a day and one charge will last two days.
My wife has a gas car and we can travel with that if needed.

Me personally, right now, probably 5 miles. During the week, I usually just go to and from work. And maybe a couple of trips to the store. I currently live damn near everything I need and work.
