PlayStation ® PS5

I've been using my wireless network and cell to try to buy. I may try to use a wired connection at 9PM. I doubt it will make difference, but it won't hurt anything to try.

I don't how much they really help, but I don't understand why CAPTCHA wasn't added to slow down or stop bots from being used.

Walmart gave me a captcha because I had the auto refresh tab running, don't know if they did it during order processing...I never made it to that part, obviously.

Did you already have an account? I didn't see it on any of the store sites, but I didn't have an auto refresh either.

I always make it to the cart, but it never gets to the next page.

It's not them it's the bots and covid.

No covid you could go to the store and get one

Now they don't want lines of people waiting to rush a store for one

It's all bots and bot groups that's fucking with everything. Nothing else.
Disagree.

Because I went to a local Best Buy this past Saturday to buy a pair of "Beats by Dre" headphones.
Everything was normal. Just a light staff was working, on a Saturday. I counted maybe 10-15 Sales Associates in the whole store.

Had to wait about 2 minutes in the "Audio" section for someone to come unlock the Beats Headphones so I could buy one.

Fast Forward just 4-5 days later....

I went back to the very same Best Buy TODAY.... and the store is laden from wall-to-wall..... with FLATSCREEN 4K TVs. :hmm:
Every available inch of walkway space you could fit a tv box... they put a flatscreen tv box. :hmm:

They formed SEVERAL ISLANDs of DOZENS of Flatscreen TV boxes.
They were selling Flatscreen TVs in different sections of the store that they never sell Flatscreens in.
  • In between the Small Appliances.... a pile of Flatscreen TVs.
  • In the Apple Section... a pile of Flatscreen TVs.
  • In the Windows Laptop section... a pile of Flatscreen TVs.
  • In front of the Restrooms..... a pile of Flatscreen TVs.
  • In the Video Game section.... a pile of Flatscreen TVs.
They created new Aisles made from Flatscreen TV boxes for you to walk down.
You had to walk thru a lane of Flatscreen Tv boxes to get to the checkout line...... to buy some other shit. :hmm:

And this cotdamn Best Buy was PACKED with sales people today. (But barely any customers.)
There were literally about 30-40 'blue shirts' all hangin out in front of different-sized PALLETES of Flatscreen TVs.

I walked around the store for at least 10 minutes & at least 8 different sales people asked me If I wanted to buy a 4K TV. :hmm:

AND I'M BLACK. NORMALLY THOSE FUCKERS JUST TREAT ME LIKE I AM A POTENTIAL SHOPLIFTER.
But today... they wanna sell me a 4K Flatscreen TV............... Badly.

So I KNEW something was wrong, from the gate.

Because Best Buy is desperately TRYING TO UP-SELL 4K TVs to the PlayStation (foot traffic) crowd.

They didn't have all these damn 4K Flatscreen TV boxes "on full display" just 4-5 days ago when I was up in there buying some Beats headphones. :smh:

Covid ain't stopping Best Buy from putting out their ENTIRE inventory of Flatscreen TVs on full display / front & center. :smh:

You can walk into any Best Buy right now and have NOOOOOO Problem at all buying a 4K Flatscreen TV.
But nobody is rushing up into Best Buy.... looking for a 4K Tv today. :smh:

Crowds ain't the problem. :smh: Covid ain't the problem. :smh:

They got all these damn FLATSCREEN TVS THAT DON'T REQUIRE A PRE-ORDER.... but they got ZERO PS5's.

And nobody was at the checkout line... picking up PS5's. :smh:

I was watching the "store traffic" at the pickup counter for like 10- minutes. Waiting to see "the mad rush" of people picking up PS5s.

Never happened. :hmm: Not one person picked up a PS5 the whole time I was there. :hmm: That Pickup window was EMPTY.

Mufukas was standing around (mostly talking amongst themselves) because the store was empty. :hmm:
That's what got me so pissed off.

Everybody ain't in the market for new TV's you know that.
Today there would have been a FULL store with huge crowd at every store trying to get the thing in person.
How do we know?
Because everyone and they mama is ONLINE crashing multimillion-dollar sites that pay top dollar to run 24 hours a day 7 days a week all year and they can't handle the traffic digitally

Yup the Digital Edition.
You deserve it.

Still Disagree.

Because there were no huge crowds picking up PRE-ORDERS. :smh:
And there were no huge crowds of FOOT TRAFFIC either. :smh:

I went to the Best Buy at 62nd & Broadway.
It was empty as fuck. In the middle of the day.

They DID NOT sell a ton of pre-orders. :smh:

And they said NONE of the Best Buys in the whole city were selling any PS5s in the stores.

One employee at the Best Buy I was at said they only got 30 PS5 consoles from Sony for Launch Day. :hmm:
30 cotdamn PS5s :hmm:...... For Launch Day :hmm:.......That's all. :hmm:

And he also said: "We don't know WHEN we will get any more either." :dunno:

There are 8 Best Buy locations in NYC.
8 x 30 = 240 consoles :hmm:

(*Looks at the current availability.... remembers how long the Best Buy website was unable to 'accept' pre-orders during the last 2 months....remembers how the Best Buy site was up for less than 30 seconds to accept pre-orders... then crashed.... so yup, 240 units for all of NYC sounds about right, in my opinion*)

Trying walmart now. In the cart, trying to checkout but it's spinning!!!!!!!

LOL. Don't think this is gonna end well.

This has to go down in history as the ABSOLUTE WORST PRODUCT LAUNCH of all-time. :hmm:

Regardless of the item / product / industry.... I've never seen anything come close to being 'this raggedy'. :smh: Fucking absurd.

When PS4's dropped in 2013.... I could walk into any big box electronic store & buy one without NEEDING a pre-order.

Apple just dropped the iPhone 12.

I can walk into any Apple Store, T-Mobile Store , Verizon Wireless Store, etc... and buy an iPhone 12.... WITHOUT any hassle whatsoever.

If all these damn iPhones & PlayStations are manufactured in the same damn country .... and shipped here to the USA...... then why is there such a BIG DISCREPANCY in "availability"??? :hmm:

This makes no damn sense, whatsoever.

NO, these PS5's won't be available come Black Friday.
It's gonna be the same song & dance after Thanksgiving.

This "limited supply" is not caused by no pandemic. :hmm: These retailers are playing games.
They are INTENTIONALLY withholding inventory from the public... in order to 'create demand'.. so they can only "sell bundles" & drive the price up. :hmm:

But in order for it to work... they all 'have to be on the same page'. It's called "Collusion". :hmm:

PS5 retailers have many fewer Digital Edition systems for preorder
https://arstechnica.com/gaming/2020...-fewer-digital-edition-systems-for-pre-order/

Looks like 30 consoles is about right. That Employee was correct.
Because you can't buy any PS5's in the store, here is what they tell you...

bbCall.png

Dallas only got 30 consoles sent to each store.
(So NYC most likely got the same amount of consoles sent to each retail location. Makes sense)

And the 30 consoles they got... are ONLY for folks who pre-ordered a PS5 ONLINE. :hmm:

units.png

^^^ BUT THIS IS THE PART THEY DO NOT TELL YOU UPFRONT. :hmm:
^^^ THEY DON'T TELL YOU THAT THEY ONLY GOT LIKE 2 DOZEN UNITS FOR PRE-SALE. :hmm:

Meanwhile, in the Warehouse... notice is the staggering difference of 'available inventory' on Launch Day between the PS5 (on the left)...... and the PS4 (on the right). :smh:

warehouse.png

To Sum Up...
  • You cannot walk into a Best Buy store to purchase the item off-the-shelf. :smh:

  • Only 30 consoles got sent to each NYC location for the folks who were actually lucky enough to get the website to work during the 30-second 'window of opportunity' that allowed pre-orders(and the shopping cart) to function properly. :hmm:

  • On Launch Day, there's practically no inventory to speak of at the warehouse of the retailer. Which means that you still cannot buy the item online. Even after the official launch.
Looks alot like "planned limits" on inventory. :hmm: Not Covid. :smh:

Because if the shortage in the stores WAS because of Covid... they simply would have alot more inventory in their warehouse... ready TO BE SHIPPED DIRECTLY to your house, if you ordered online.

But they don't have the inventory.... so the farce unravels. Slowly.

that's out
streets are hot for this one. you better off hitting a local facebook group and seeing if you can get someone local to get you one for $800 go pick it up from them

online you not getting out of here without spending a stack period that's just for the system.

guess I’m waiting , I don’t have kids to be pressed to get for the Christmas gift ..definitely waiting on retail price ...salute to those who got , I will be there soon .

It will be sooner than you think I don't think it's gonna end up like the Nvidia 3080 RTX.

I managed to keep one saved in my cart from 3pm. As soon as it hits 6pm, I'll try to check out again.

If that doesn't work for me, fuck it. I'll try the PS Store tomorrow.
It work. I had one saved in my cart from 3 as well, but I wasn't able to bring it home at 6 p.m.

See it's not that I don't have the extra bread to spare, it's just if I do spare it then all of a sudden there's a flood of them bitches on the shelves in a week, I'm a be livid!!!!!
