The owners are the problem. A lot of owners just get a pit because it's cool. There's no training. I hate seeing 9 year olds walking down the street with a pit bigger than them. You just know if shit pops off, that kid won't be able to restrain the dog.
Dog owners need to understand that dogs make a lot of people uncomfortable. Keep your dog on a damn leash. I wouldn't ban the dog. But the owners must be RESPONSIBLE!

The bottom line is that like any other living creature with a brain a dog is still a product of its enviroment.
A Golden retriever was not bred for fighting and as a rule of thumb that dog is not aggressive. Pit bulls were bred to fight bulls which means it is part of their genetic making to be aggressive.
