1.I hate it when "dog lovers" say no dog attacks without being provokedThis was clearly an unprovoked attack.
2. Yes other dogs like a Chihuahua have a track record of being aggressive but when they bite they don't cause horrendous injuries.

Its never the dogs fault is it?James Harrison also probably didn't raise the dog right. Most people who own pitbulls almost 90% of the time own one for the shock value. "Oh I gotta mean vicious pitbull..." without any idea of how to train and maintain a high energy breed.
You'd be foolish and naive to assume that dogs are magically house broken, and can be left alone in solitude without any ramifications.
Whether or not we know the raising of the animal by Mr. Harrison is one thing, but as with anything else in this world, without the proper guidance and attention, it can lead to a combustible mix. These high energy animals dominate faster than any breed we've seen today, if you allow it to.
That's why I urge people not to fall into the pitbull stereotype if you haven't done your homework.
Don't blame the breed, blame the owner. Same as our youth in the streets.

But under the proper guidance, they can be a great family pet, because of their energy, and will continue on strong throughout the day with your family, but you have to know how to train one. It starts from puppy hood too.
That's why I urge people not to fall into the pitbull stereotype if you haven't done your homework.

1.The dog is never at blame, huh ? Lest we forget that this dog was bred for fighting bulls hence the name pitbulls.
I agree with you on pittbulls being banned. Its time to stop putting the responicbility on the owners because that has failed and now they need to just all out ban the breed.
1. tell rachel ray, eastwood, michael j. fox, russell crow and countless other hollywood types and pro athletes that you're banning their breed.
2. guns kill more people per year than dogs have in history.
FUCK PIT BULLS... ARE YOU NICCAS READY TO BAN GUNS? BLACK MEN... YES, US... KILL EACH OTHER WITH GUNS 1000000X MORE THAN PIT BULLS DO.
let's ban guns first, and then... we can talk about pit bulls.
ready for that?
I've had this conversation with many of people, so you can use every angle you see fit. At this point i've heard them all, and I do commend the effort, but the cold hard fact remains, without knowledge of the dog, or its traits and how to train them, the owners are guilty not the breed.
Dogs do not simply snap at people just to snap at them. Especially a balanced dog. An unbalanced dog however, will chew your face down to the white meat, but yet and still there's no balance within them. Who's fault is that?
Balance is the owner's responsibility. If you ever have an unbalanced dog, then yes i'm sorry, these things will happen, but with proper training, and guidance, again, a balanced dog will not snap at you. They have no need to.
Those dogs Mike Vick had... they were forcefully unbalanced. They were beyond 0/100%.
Most of these dogs out here are unbalanced because their owners are unbalanced. Like I stated before, they get them for the wrong reasons and that reflects onto the animal.
One thing i've learned is that dogs will never lie. Their body language always tell the truth. Always.
There are a million people on here who will disagree because of their personal experiences, and that's fine. I'm not asking you to agree with me. But I have seen enough K-9 activity, especially with higher energy breeds, Rottweiler, Pitbull, German Shepherd etc, to know what i'm talking about here.

FUCK PIT BULLS... ARE YOU NICCAS READY TO BAN GUNS? GUNS KILL MORE THAN PIT BULLS DO... ray ray and june bug gonna shoot the fucking club up tomorrow night over some bullshit, but i don't hear anyone here saying, "ban ignorant, violent, niccas... then, ban their guns."
let's ban ignorant niccas first, guns second, bad pussy third, and then... we can talk about pit bulls.
ready for that?
Both guns and pitbulls whould be banned.

Both guns and pitbulls whould be banned.

ok, then when your buddy OD's on cocaine or heroin, are we gonna ban drugs?
wait... drugs are illegal already. nevermind.
i'd like one of you cats to tell these rich white folks that we are NOT going to ban their pit bulls... we're just gonna ban the pit bulls owned by minorities, esp. pro athlete minorities.

I'm scared of dogs ... well not the little ones![]()
You can preach this love and happiness shit if you want with pit bulls.
Y'all are kidding yourselves. Pitbulls can be very sweet animals. But personality has jack shit to do with trying to eat a two-year-old. Fuck that shit.
With pitbulls, there have been far too many fuckups already. Too many people have been hurt and died because of pitbulls already. Blame the owner all you want, if 90% of pitbull owners are not worthy to own them, then fuck it, maybe they're not supposed to be fucking pets.
Gotdamn Roy Horn owned that tiger, said it was sweet, famous for having that tiger with his partner Sigfried. One day that sweet fucking tiger tried to eat his ass. Really no different from a pit. No business having people own either one. Pitbull is just cheaper.

This has nothing to do with race

Every dog been throuhg that shit. At one point German Shepards were the Dangerous breed, then Rotweilers, now pits.
Find me 5 stories about pitbulls attacking and I guarantee you the root of it had to do with a irresponsible or malicious owner that abused them, or someone who did some real stupid shit like leaving a baby in a back yard alone with a dog.
Pits are the most loyal dogs you can have.

Harrison's son expected to recover
PITTSBURGH -- A pit bull owned by Pittsburgh Steelers linebacker James Harrison bit his 2-year-old son in the thigh, but the boy is expected to recover as he remained hospitalized Friday, the player's agent said.
Harrison's agent, William Parise, told The Associated Press that James III was bitten after his mother let the dog out of its pen Thursday afternoon. Parise wouldn't identify the woman, but said she and Harrison's massage therapist also were hurt trying to help the boy. The massage therapist needed three stitches, Parise said.

Parise said Harrison was not home at the time, but was nearby and alerted after the dog attacked. Parise has not spoken to the boy's doctors, but Harrison told the agent his son likely will be hospitalized another day or two.
Parise said the boy's injuries were "serious but certainly not life-threatening. I think any time a child is injured and requires hospitalization, it's a serious thing. I know James was very concerned about his son."
The dog was removed by an animal control agency.
Burt Lauten, spokesman for the Super Bowl champion Steelers, said the team is "aware of this unfortunate situation. We express our concern for his family and hope that everyone involved makes a complete recovery."
A Franklin Park police spokeswoman on Friday said police are not commenting because the incident remains under investigation.
Parise said Harrison's son is at UPMC Children's Hospital of Pittsburgh. A hospital spokesman said the family does not want information released.
Harrison lives about 15 miles north of the city.
Parise said Harrison has not had trouble with the animal in the past. "I've been with that dog personally, he's a wonderful animal," he said.
Parise said he doesn't know why the boy's mother let the dog out of the pen, other than to say he believes it was for a routine reason such as feeding or to care for the animal. The boy's mother does not live at the house, Parise said.
"There's no reason to believe that this is anything other than something that sometimes happens to children," Parise said. "The child should be fine."
Harrison is the NFL Defensive Player of the Year and scored on a 100-yard interception return in the team's 27-23 victory over Arizona in Super Bowl XLIII. He made headlines for declining to join the Steelers on a White House visit Thursday, though he passed up the same opportunity after the Steelers beat Seattle in Super bowl XL in 2006.
In 2006, then-Steelers linebacker Joey Porter was cited by police in Pine Township, another suburb north of Pittsburgh, after two of his dogs got loose and killed a miniature horse on a nearby farm. Northern Regional Police said then that Porter's dogs were licensed in his hometown of Bakersfield, Calif., but not in Allegheny County.
A woman who lives a few houses down from Harrison said his dogs are well-behaved and cared for and are not a problem for neighbors.
"I jog and I run past his house every day and I have never had any problems with that dog whatsoever," said Marissa Posteraro, 19. "I have never seen the dog or heard the dog bark or whatever so I was very surprised to find out that happened."
"The dog is very well-kept. It's never gotten loose before that I know of," she said.

Notice how all the quotes talk about how the dog is loving and a great family animal and loyal and well trained and behaved? Sounds just like the fools in here defending the breed. Yet the dumb bitch still attacked the families child. Shocking!!

Pitbulls, especially pitbulls, shouldn't be confined. Especially to a pen or cage. They are not meant to live that way. Nor are any dogs, but this breed especially due to there high energy levels. You keep a pitbull cooped up in the house day in and day out, and all that pent up energy is going to release in a way you may not want.
Under the proper guidance and leashing, these dogs need to be out and about. Social interactions with other dogs, and people, reduce the chance of insecurity, and promote balance.
Now why is that going off of two line from that article, that I can already tell the owners were fearful in letting their dog out on the regular?? If the owners are fearful, what makes you think the dog won't be either? Couple the fact that the women that let the dog out, didn't even live there??? With all that energy, that dog will test until she breaks.
Mix that fear with the pent up energy, and like I told you before, bad mix.
Hmmm....
Loyal dogs that bite the hand that feeds them ?
More excuses. Awesome!
