Options Trading for beginners thread

I’ve been watching videos on options trading and I’ve asked questions inside the investors thread but they get lost in the muck. Today I came across this series or videos that explained options and how to trade them pretty well, and quite simply. I’m going to post the first 3 videos because that’s all I’ve watched so far and I haven’t moved onward because I’m rewatching them for clarity before taking the next steps. I think these are the best I’ve come across since I’ve wanted to trade options but wouldn’t out of fear and lack of knowledge. These 3 videos should make anyone wanting to start trading options want to learn more. I’ll update the thread and anyone knowledgeable in options trading who wants to help; please as your input, examples, videos, etc.

I been looking for another adventure in making some change. Two guys at work at two separate times have been bragging to me how much they love options trading and I said that I would talk to them about learning what to do. This might be a sign. I'm going to take the next step.

These first 3 videos removed ALL my fears. Worth the watch. I’ll add more as I find em and feel they can help.

This will also help me because primarily I wanted to educate myself before I sought out the advice of the aforementioned individuals at my workplace. This will give me the opportunity to have targeted questions about their experience.
 
I think it would also be helpful to have folks post tips and advice in this thread. I made quite a few mistakes options trading but I also had some successful option trades.

Agreed. My biggest fear was how I lost the money and how much. I used to think if you bought the option contract and lost you had to buy all those shares. It appears that isn’t the case and that your contact expires and you only lose the initial invest or part of it if the stocks get close to the strike price. From what I have gathered, if you buy a $2 contract (100 shares) and you miss the mark, your contract becomes worthless and you lose the $200.

Can one of the vets confirm or clarify.
 
This can make you rich. Need to find a good book on this subject. I will most definitely look at the videos.
 
The way for young/inexpereinced traders to lose their ASS off.

If you're not willing to put in the time(and it takes lots of time) to really learn technical analysis(Patterns, Volume Profile, Supply/Demand zones etc) and pay attention to market conditions and more then please stay away from options.

At the very least, don't make it more than 10% of your portfolio.

Don't be fooled. It takes alot to be a successful at consistent profits trading options.
