Idk. Nas. Seemed like when he not
If Nas said that I would say he's just being modest and respectful...Their bodies of work are in no way comparable. Biggie had 1 phenomenal album and 1 pretty good Double over a couple of years before his untimely death. Nas, Jay, are decades in and Pac had several years and multiple classic albums... I just don't see Biggie taking any one of these cats out unless you just don't like their music
jus check the life after death tracklist

20 out of 24 tracks. Is fire

Nigga what R U smoking??? Put it down now!!!
what are you smoking? that 1st album had a couple of joints. trapped , brenda got a baby, part time mother, 2nd album i already listed the records off of them between the 4 artists listed, you telling me pac's 1st and 2nd albums can hang with big(ready to die , LAD,) jay's( reasonable doubt, in my lifetime vol.2) and nas(illmatic , it was written)?

biggie ushered in a whole new flow for the 90's
pac ushered in a style that still lives on
jayz excelled with his business as his foundation was always hiphop music
Nas?.....was a really good MC but how did he really effect the culture of hiphop
nas had dudes biting his flow,(eminem said nas was god in 95. the all star producers album is based off of the illmatic model(primo,q-tip,large pro, pete rock) conceptual records are some of the best ever ( there is no "stan " without "one love", rewind, 2nd childhood, getting married, bye baby etc) arguably top 3-5 lyricist ever.

Jay-Z. I loved his early shit but his shit started to get redundant.

To me, Big and Jay kinda filled the same space of the lyrical, braggadocio who moved weight, fucked bitches, hella money, etc. I just like Big’s stuff more. Nothing gets me in the zone than Sky’s the limit or Who Shot Ya?

Pac? Me Against the World and Thug Life are some of the dopest rap albums of all time. Pain is probably a top 10 rap song ever along with Dear Mama.

Nas? Fuck just Illmatic. His second album is probably one of the most underrated albums of all time. Take it in blood, the message, etc

I was thinking how each of these artist influenced the game in their own way.

starting with Nas... Nas brought a whole diffrent level of rhyming complexity to the game. He made everyone step there pen game up, that's why Nas was described as the second Rakim. Its to the point now, where a MC cant make a quantum leap lyrically anymore, and IMO Nas gets most of the credit for that.

Pac is the most imitated artist in hip hop history...and maybe the most iconic, largely for his charisma on and off the mic. Charisma is probably Pacs standout trait, and why cats blow Pac up to some unreal ideal.

Biggie, for better or worse, deserves most of the credit for blurring the line between "Undeground Hip Hop" and mainstream. Big literally "Changed the game" Big had gangsta records on heavy spins on the radio, then drop party anthems and get more spins. If you weren't around prior to Big, you won't know how crazy that was at the time.

Jay obviously personifies the "Hustler" mentality and era and brought a business acumen to Hip Hop that will forever be emulated in one form or another.

I could go on but thats essentially it.

Illmatic, Stillmatic and It was Written are certified classics... IMO.."Life is Good" is as well. Beginning to end Heat!

Gods Son, Untitled and Hip Hop is Dead all got heavy rotation from me as well.

Word

It Was Written is better than All Eyez? Wow. When? That shit was cool but not better than All Eyez. It's more East Coast but not better than AEOM. You buggin.

by a little bit but yeah.

It's easily Nas for me. Dude's first album was his best album and everything else since then has been mediocre to straight trash. The Jay-Z beef reunited his career a little bit but he still regressed back into trash. His next best thing was Triple Beam Dreams with Rick Ross years later. Yeah only New York City niggas have this affection for Nas. Oochie wally oochie bang bang get the fuck out of here

Jay Z is gone. 86-96 is my golden era for rap. He's a luxury. A torch bearer compared to those.
Youre obviously a fool... oh wait.... you’re one of those blacks who despise black champions and always bet against them. I bet if I do research you probably shitted on mayweather, Kenton James, Kobe when he was on top, and obviously Jordan. I know your type.

first off

if ANYONE in this thread is saying in any way shape or form ANY of these 4 legends are wack?

30 day ban

A BETTER discussion?

Now Take Pac OFF...

we going STRAIGHT MCs

with CERTIFIED CLASSICS under they belt.

No off the court fuckery

(No Jay Z bit Biggie, Biggie said gay lines, Nas a simp stuff)

Just based on SKILLS...

Who is WORTHY of that spot?

Eminem?

Drake?

Black Thought?

Ghostface?

3 Stacks?

Rick Ross?

Bruh, it is not that serious where you have to shock post to get a rise out of me. Jay is an iconic artist. Arguably one of the best to do it. But in regards to those guys, in molding what I see as the golden era. He's out. Got it? If I thought he was the best, Vol II and Blueprint would be in my golden era. Obviously, the poll doesn't agree with my position. So relax.
