Official NBA 2016-2017 Thread - 30 teams, 1 goal. 2 weeks left, so much can happen!!

what? LOL
green can create his own shot he does it regularly whenever he feels like it. idk what you're talking about
the team is just better when he doesn't have to score. but when he does have to score he does - see game 7 of the finals and when steph was injured

no clue where that came from lol

Go back and watch that game. Or any of his games for that matter.

Green can create his own shot when he is working inside.

On the outside he gets his points from spot up 3s with someone else creating for him.

Green can run the break and has very good vision BUT he is NOT a point forward.

You know exactly what I mean.. Iggy can create his own shot

Green at the PG position most like is play PF or center on defense and that same player guarding him away from the basket.. he blows by them every time.

I disagree that Iggy can create his own shot from that distance.

Iggy isnt a consistent scorer. He doesnt really scare anyone off the drible from that far away.

These days all Iggy gets is hustle points.

Green is better at getting people involved but that doesn't mean he cannot create his own shot. To me if he were on a different team he would be averaging 21 ppg.
Look I am aware of all the talent the Warriors have, and have no problem with Green taking a hit on his numbers and distributing the ball, however when the team appears timed and flat they should not act like he can't get the job done, especially when Dramont look like the only one playing with pair of legs.

Im not talking about how many points he would or wouldnt score.

Im talking about how he gets his points.

One on one off the dribble at the top of the key isnt it.

Tell me you wanna run him off pick and roll or something that creates movement, then i agree.

He plays with in the structure of their offense so I get what you are saying, but that not saying he cannot do things that he cannot do.
Matter of fact I will say that if the Warriors have any shot of beating the Cavs in a long series Green will have to be a lot more active especially late in games.

How that gonna happen with Bron guarding him.

I'm gonna hand over multiple non protected first round picks for some aging veterans who will be out of the league in a couples.

Trade wouldn't have been bad if the picks would have had been top 5 protected.

Lol...same way Iggy was abusing Lebron the year before that
Well it was the other way around that year, remember it was LeBron that got worn out playing all those mins with no help.. Basically he was doubled, trapped and rotated with Green and Iggy.I don't care how great you are two things that will beat you father time and exhaustion.
Now it looks like we've come 360 and now the Cavs are the much deeper team and the Warriors have to worry about getting worn down, so if I were them I would try to save the legs of their big three by leaning on their bench more.

I thought were talking about how the man Lebron was guarding performed.

To me was more like we going to give this one that shot versus giving it to that him or him. They were trying limiting the attack to the rim, trying to limit shots to the splash brothers...

That shit was by design, they scratched that scheme after a while, but Lebron was still in that watching mode. At halftime this is when Lue got in Lebron's ass about the shit.

and the rest is history!!!!

Man I don't mind have lengthy dialogue about what we see, but les just keep it on what we talking about.

Seem like it went from talking about oranges to talking about the whole citrus family.

Well its still oranges and oranges but with a side note, when Iggy played well it was vs a tired and worn down LeBron Green did it vs a more rested LeBron. But I will say this the Cavs baited Green to take the shots knowing that they'd rather he take them than Curry and Thompson but to Greens credit he made most of them.

Look Curry is one of the best, creative shooters in the game, but when he starts to fatigue he starts to make mental blunders and his shot is way off, plus he is the type to play tired instead of asking for a blow.. If I were Kerr I would look for signs of him tiring and not wait for Curry to come to him.
Him and Durant really needs to work out more in conditioning if they want to be 40 mins guys playing at that pace.
Look when Durant and Thompson missed those free-throws that was hint and a half that they was exhausted and their shot was off.

Can someone who isn't on this faggits ignore list please let his dumbass that Curry and Durant are on a minutes schedule... these dudes don't play 40 fucking minutes a game dumbass. They weren't tired at the end of the game, they stopped running the offense.

That's all I'm saying bro. Lue decided to Let MoufStayWideOpen and Iggy have those shots. Kinda a pick your poison approach, but when that poison was a little stronger than they asked for shut had to change. When Lebron decided to apply pressure to Green he did look at world.

Part of Kyle Korver trade, Mike Dunleavy reportedly wants no part of Hawks

Upon hearing the news that he was traded to the Cleveland Cavaliers, Kyle Korvercharacterized the move as bittersweet. He was excited by the opportunity to play alongside LeBron James and contend for a championship but saddened to leave a Hawks franchise that helped him have the best years of his career.

Mike Dunleavy, on the other hand, traded from Cleveland along with a first-round pick to the Hawks for Korver, feels differently.

Dunleavy reportedly is refusing to report to Atlanta. According to ESPN's Marc Stein and Marc Spears, Dunleavey is hoping to have the Hawks buy him out of his contract. However, Atlanta doesn't want to do that and wants Dunleavy to play for them.

From ESPN:

Sources told ESPN.com that Dunleavy is seeking a buyout from the Hawks that would enable him to immediately become a free agent.

But the Hawks, sources say, are interested in keeping Dunleavy, who is earning $4.9 million this season and whose $5.2 million contract is only partially guaranteed next season.

The sides, according to one source, were "working through it" Sunday.

It is interesting to hear that Atlanta wants to keep Dunleavy as before the trade was completed, the Hawks were looking for a third team to ship the veteran forward to. But perhaps their feelings about Dunleavy have changed. Either way it seems like Dunleavy doesn't want to play for the Hawks.

Dunleavy likely wants a buyout so he can play for another championship contender, which the Hawks are not.

Since the trade won't be officially completed until Dunleavy takes a physical in Atlanta, the whole situation should be resolved rather quickly. But Dunleavy has all of the leverage, which should lead the Hawks to work something out with him sooner rather than later.

Gordon Hayward said George Hill has “played like an All-Star” when healthy, and that might be understating it. Before the elbow from Len stole his sunshine, he averaged 20.1 points, 4.3 assists, 3.9 rebounds, 1.3 steals, making 55.1 percent of his shots and 47.5 percent of his 3-pointers. That kind of efficiency is unheard of — he is 12th in the league in PER and fourth in true shooting percentage, behind only Suns center Tyson Chandler, Jazz center Rudy Gobert and Toronto Raptors center Lucas Nogueira — big men who essentially only dunk.

Portland's subpar play is mind boggling to say the least.
Portland is part of the new shoot fast, no structure, no defense, and try to out score your opponent, wave thats hitting the NBA, this is why scoring is inflated yet quality of play is down. Its also why I throw certain players stat out the window when ever the discussion of greatness is brought up, shit anyone can score 30 and have a ton of rebounds and assist, if you always rush to shoot the ball with in 10 secs every time down the court with no care to actually win the game.
Teams like the Blazers are mimicking the Warriors failing to understand the the Warriors do so much more than just shoot the ball and they actually know how to play the sport.
This is just a fad that shall soon pass by as soon as folks catch wind on the gimmick.

I believe this write might lurked here, one of his statements look very familiar....

Philadelphia 76ers in the mix for Hawks’ Paul Millsap

With more news surfacing about Paul Millsap possibly getting traded soon, another team has emerged as a potential landing spot for the Atlanta Hawks forward.

The Philadelphia 76ers are nowreported to be in the mix for Millsap’s services as the team is looking to deal one of their big men to free up the logjam they have in their frontcourt.

While many believe that dealing for him does not make sense for the Sixers, Millsap has a different skill set compared to the bigs in their lineup. The 31-year-old Louisiana Tech product is as comfortable facing the basket as having his back to it. He can also play the role of a stretch forward as he has proven he can shoot from the perimeter with efficiency over the past years

However, one factor the 76ers might be looking at that many are not seeing is the potential of making Millsap a mentor to the team’s young core of Joel Embiid,Dario Saric and Ben Simmons. With his experience and being a three-time All-Star, the lessons he can share to them will be very valuable.

Should the Sixers indeed pursue Millsap, it will be interesting to find out who they are willing to part ways with.Jahlil Okafor and Nerlens Noel are two of the names that have been consistently thrown in as the possible candidates to be traded by the team, but the Hawks may not see a need for either of them as their roster already featuresDwight Howard, Kris Humphries andMike Muscala. If they agree to deal Millsap to them, the Hawks will essentially have the problem the 76ers currently have up front.

One thing that may work in Philadelphia’s favor will be the Hawks opting to move their starting power forward to a team not considered a contender for now. Even with Millsap in their fold, the team still needs to add a few more pieces to make them serious threats in the Eastern Conference and may take a few more seasons for their core to play together at their best.

Millsap’s situation is definitely something worth monitoring and is expected to be talked about even more as the trade deadline nears. With the history of trades that has happened in the past, it won’t also come as a surprise if one or more teams will join the sweepstakes with the hopes of acquiring one of the better forwards in the NBA today.

Yeah.... all of a sudden Korver is nice and shit! So, GS adds KD to last years team, and the CAVs add Korver, and Korver is the bigger acquisition and pushes the CAVs over the top!? FOH!

Y0u can tell people that don't know basketball. Who has one of the BEST catch and shoot % of all players the last few years? Korver

Who has the highest assist for 3 point shooters this season - LeBron. This is big for the Cavs because it adds to the fire power WITHOUT destroying their chemistry. The Durant acquisition was big but they totally restructured a PERFECT TEAM to do so. And now they are stuck with a HORRIBLE bench and Javale McGee as their backup center (REALLLY!!!!!!!!!!!!!).

This is the type of player they were looking to get out of Dunleavy but he could not make shot consistently. Korver does not have a problem making OPEN shots, he's shooting 49%.

I'm a Cavs fan but I am also a fan of basketball. The Warriors would have been better trying to get AD from New Orleans as opposed to Durant. They need a post presence, not another jump shooter. When the game is on the line and those legs start to get tired, you have to put someone in the post and muscle those buckets. And EVERYONE who watches basketball KNOWS Durant is not going to do that against LeBron when it counts. HE OWNS Durant.

If anything the Warriors need to worry about the Spurs, Rockets and Grizzlies before they even think about the Cavs. With no rim protection Harden is going to have a field day against them now that he has found his niche.

Some people see the NBA like a video game and get caught up in star power, not knowing that you are better off with a two super stars and a bunch of specialist roll players to complement their style.
People thought I was hating on the Warriors for signing Durant but forget when I was just as adamant against the Cavs pursuing him.
But for reasons why you pointed out, on paper at least Korver to the Cavs is a match made in heaven.. Remember, same folks trying to down play this trade was laughing at the Cavs getting JR, Shumpert and even Fry, so you'd think by now they would have learned their lesson..
