It was way better than the avengers and all of marvels movies.

This was a long and boring film.

Just left Man of Steel; BGOL had me more excited to see it than the reviews or trailers. I left semi-entertained from lots of action but didn't like Henry Cavill as Superman...he was terrible to me, Lois Lane was bad too. Man of Steel just seemed to lack any fun or humor to it. Felt too serious and depressing. I don't think I would watch it again on netflix or HBO. I'm done with D.C. ...I'll stick with Marvel

The good

• Krypton scenes, technology, people, etc
• Russell Crowe super dad action scenes
• Realistic physics for super powers
• Homage to Superman II with the truck driver at diner
• Homage to comics where superman leaped but didn't fly initially
• Faora was about that life...she was cruel

After 20 minutes of slamming into buildings causing them to crumble, it gets a little old.

Superman (1978) Jor-El explaining to Kal-El who he is was epic.
Showing up and saying, "you're an alien, here's your suit, be awesome" (in so many words) kinda falls flat.

So, I'm guessing Perry White, Lois and Jenny (whoever the fuck that is) is Kryptonian too being that everything can fall around him and they are not touched.

Shit, is this Krypton or Beyond Thunderdome?

Can I stand still and hold my arm 90 degrees as a tornado rages beside me and not move an inch?

Tical's NONSPOILER Review:

Preface:
Superman, the Christopher Reeves version that is, was the first incarnation of a superhero that i had ever seen growing up as a little boy. Naturally, as a result I think, he became my super hero and as I got older, not because of what he did, but because of what he *could do and didn't, he remained.Those that have already seen the movie will understand the gravitas of the previous statement.

MOS Cinematography:
Their are a few places I could of started with this review, But I wanted to start here. When the movie started, I couldn't believe what i was seeing, it almost felt like I was watching an amateur shooting the reception of a wedding on his new trusty camera.The shots SHOOK! , The Camera was shaking ever so slightly, But noticeably to be uncomfortable.

WTF? Did they Nolan, Goyer, Snyder someone with influence realize that the shots were shaking at times? I THINK I NOW UNDERSTOOD ONE OF THE FIRST COMPLAINTS I HAD HEARD ABOUT THE MOVIE.


Then i recalled Snyder insisted on using this one camera filming style. But, Why? The answer was also their, interestingly, in the confusion.

Something about the way the movie looked didn't look like a movie at all. It looked REALER somehow like it was happening not on a silver screen but Blair Witch-esq, the Office etc. The more I watched and the remarkable power of the human eye and mind adjusted something even more incredible started happening: the quibbles, dips and shakes became less and less and less.Conversely, my associate with this story, like my younger brothers wedding became more intimate and more familiar ans somehow made me feel more there: On Krypton and then On Earth.

Understand, this moreso than anything else is what separates the MOS feel from EVERY other comic book, hell movie you've ever likely seen. It was one hell of a gamble and I now applaud Snyder and the creative team for making it.

American audiences are doomed to dumbed down movies forever....

Looking forward to it, but Clark Kent is an integral part of Superman's existence. that's what the Reeves film got perfect, the duality of Clark/Supes.

The most integral part of Superman's existence is that he's an alien. Reeves films missed this completely.

Who would win in a Fight: Superman vs Batman/Ironman?


Hell I'm nervous comic-book characters like The Flash may not be powerful enough for this type of world.If your not on the level of a Wonderwomen/Hulk etc. It's a wrap.QUICKLY

If you haven't seen the movie it's hard to put into words the Power and Destruction that these beings are capable of unleashing. What's scarier is I seriously doubt we've seen 50% of what Superman was/is capable of doing! Which, I hope is reserved for DarkSeid.

Ok....thats just wrong.

This is far form a bad movie...but it has it's flaws. I think the problem with taking in the critiques is that despite the flaws in the story, it's still a very entertaining movie, with stunning visuals and decent action...so I don't see how you wouldn't recommend people watch.

I think the critics should point out the movie has flaws without giving it a thumbs down.

Clark wandering the earth thing was from a storyline in Superman i forget the name of it. But i think it was Birthright or something. He traveled the world and did oddjobs and what not. Not sure, don't feel like looking it up. And yo... the quasi christian shit was... whoa... Ya'll? Seriously? lol

I loved him as Supes. he seemed......Alien. Which i thought was fitting for them. He doesn't look just ALL that human. But that could be because i don't think whites are human anyway. But he did look slightly OFF somehow. And i liked that. You didn't expect a Nolan movie to have levity did you?

I'm going to see it this afternoon. But i feel like yeah they did show HOW POWERFUL they were. But they didn't show how powerful they are. My hubb's bestie who's a big superman fan was like telling me, they could've shown at some point where the hits were registering on the Richter scale. (You should read Squadron Supreme btw it's in the comics section). And he said that Superman at that time had no experience with using his powers in combat. His 1 move was fly at you fast and punch. I remember Batman once saying to supes, "you use your powers like a human would." So Clark mentally Limits himself. He doesn't really do what he can do big time. Like he SHOULD. But i guess in many ways, they were equal. He had experience with his powers, whereas THEY had full experience with combat.

But my question is, "White people. Why the fuck you shooting bullets at somebody who just got hit with a car. A truck a building?"

Man leave the white woman alone. Faora was badass and all. But relax. lol. Non was a bad ass too even though they didn't bother to say his NAME. Aggravated me. Non was gettin in that ass.

Shit was good. Rotten Tomatoes got some bad hashish cause I to this day cannot sit through Superman Returns cause I keep falling asleep on on that bitch.

For those that haven't seen it already, I'm not spoiling it nor am I going to FUCKING COMPARE AN ENSEMBLE MOVIE TO A MOVIE THAT HAS ONE HERO. Dickwads. All I'm going to say is if DC is doing a Justice League, this sets up Supes origins pretty nicely. His reason for fighting and saving is pretty established for future movies and there wasn't a whole lot of useless shit going on. The cast was great, (at least Lois had some damn spunk), and I enjoyed the back stories. It's a side we don't see of Clark.

Speaking of Clark, the whole beginning there was no Clark. No Superman. Just some dude finding his way, which is why the movie comes together (and the ending scene) so nicely because he found out who and what he is, while creating his own path (at the end).


A good movie, a great movie, I'd watch it again (Detective Stabler didn't have to die but he died nobly) but I'll say this shit:

I wondered how Sups generates his strength?

Here is what I mean:
If you or I wanted to lift something we devote a certain amount of force to it and need to apply more force to something heavier in order to lift/push whatever it.
Is that how Sups work?

If so, then that would mean that he has to seriously will himself to those levels(that were talking about) and something like that would only manifest if he's in a situation like a fight with someone thats capable of pushing him that far. Someone like a Hulk or Darkseid that can multiply their effort(strength) forcing him to match/exceed theirs.

Once more I don't know how someone like Batman could be on the JLA team if they are fighting enemies on those types of scales. That's no place for any human, let alone a hero with limited powers.
