Paulinho: Tottenham's Brazilian target will leave Corinthians
![]()
Brazil midfielder Paulinho's expected £17m move to Tottenham has moved closer after the player revealed he would be leaving Corinthians.
Last month Paulinho said Spurs had made a bid for him and he would decide his future after the Confederations Cup.
The 24-year-old scored 34 goals in 167 games for the Brazilian side and featured in his country's 3-0 win over Spain in Sunday's cup final.
"What I have to say to Corinthians is 'see you soon'," he said.
"Pretty soon I'll be back, owing to everything you have done for me."
Real Madrid have also shown interest in Paulinho, but he is expected to move to White Hart Lane.
Paulinho has made 17 appearances for Brazil and scored five times, including goals in their 3-0 Confederations Cup win against Japan and the 2-1 semi-final victory over Uruguay.

I wonder how AVB plays him then. 4-4-2 and one of the 4 across the middle, or a 4-2-3-1 with him alongside Sandro as the 2.
MCP what say you?
I'm a bit confused here, Last season AVB used a 4-3-3 system and also a 4-4-2 when needed. If Paulinho does decide to come to the lane, where does that leave Dembele and Huddlestone?
We definitely need another striker as Adebayor is not doing it for me.
Hmmm I could very well be mistaken, but I remember there being a flat 4-4-2 with Dembele and Parker/Huddlestone in at times? I don't remember the 4-3-3 so much.
In any case, seems like there's good competition in that middle now with the addition of Paulinho.
Adebayor does his thing but he's super inconsistent. Just do us all a favor and don't sign Benteke.
Yikes.
Please take Rooney, please take Rooney, please take Rooney.
Why does Rooney want to leave the club ?![]()
We'll never "officially" know, but it seems as though he's lost a bit of that glare that he's known for and doesn't like it.
RVP has taken control of that front line, while Shinji Kagawa is a better #10 in the hole than Rooney is. Couple that with the Champions League excursion last season during the Madrid encounters, and boom, transfer request.
In the camera's eye, he claims to be a "team player" and "understands" why Ferguson dropped him, (which to anyone who watched the games could clearly see why) but his actions during and following the tie weren't really those of a team player, but more so a pouting little boy.
Personally, i'm not hard pressed on him staying. If he wants to leave, I say cash in on him and let him fly. Madrid, PSG, Chelsea would more than be willing to pay some 40-50 million for him.
There's plenty of talent in Europe to fill in that void with that kind of capital.
As much as Wazaa has been one of my favorite players for the past years he has gotten a little too emotional for me. He went from super hot head not caring, to maturing when he had his kid, now kinda acting bitch made. That may take it far but he has been whining. I do realize all the good he does for the team and stuff that doesn't show up on stat sheets but Shinji is right there in the wings.
Higuan to Arsenal is interesting though. I think he has been under rated for a minute.
Liverpool 'reject £30m offer' from Arsenal for striker Luis Suárez
![]()
Arsenal have had a £30m bid for Luis Suárez turned down by Liverpool, according to reports on Sunday night. The Gunners are believed to have made the audacious offer for the unsettled Uruguayan at the end of last week but the club record bid was immediately rejected.
Liverpool remain keen to keep the striker, despite his recent statements about wanting to leave the Premier League because of his treatment at the hands of the English press.
Rumours of Arsenal's interest surfaced a few days ago after some bookmakers stopped taking money on Suárez moving to north London following a flurry of bets.
Arsenal are still attempting to complete the signing of Gonzalo Higuaín from Real Madrid and any offer for Suárez could be seen as an attempt to pressurise the Spanish side into finalising the deal.
As yet the two clubs have failed to agree a fee for the Argentina international but a figure of around £23m has been mooted.

Why him? who wants to be dealing with long spurs of dealing with a player his character and possibly long suspensions?
I hope and wish we go for this person rather

^ Better than him wasting away on the bench. Hopefully this is preparation for Thiago's departure.
Sorry but I had to.![]()
Hearing rumors he might go to Bayern because of Pep.![]()
*sigh* Yea i'm hearing them as well, but here's my question... Playing time seems to be Thiago's big thing:
Where on earth would he fit into a 4-3-3 midfield that comprises of Ribery, (switched to #10 by Pep) Schweinsteiger, Kroos, Gustavo, Gotze, Martinez, and Shaqiri...
We only have Cleverly and Anderson to compete with...![]()
That is true I will be sad if we miss out on him![]()
