Although it would be good for Ronnnie to come home I think his allegiance is more towards SAF than United itself. But hey if you want the join I aint gonna say no. What you think about the situation DJ?

I'm not against the move of course. Shelling out that much cash for a player who's 28 years old does place a bit of a question mark in my mind however.

Most supporters would love the ultimate romance story to come to a fitting end like the Mourinho-Chelsea saga, but I'm indifferent either way I guess.

If it happens, cool. If not, cool.

Uruguay have good individual talent, but lack a certain chemistry when it counts.

I think a Brazil Spain finale is setup.

Messi charged with tax fraud

Lionel Messi has been formally charged with tax fraud, according to Spanish media.

Reports emerged from Europa Press on Thursday that the Barcelona star has been summoned to court on accusations of defrauding more than four million euros.

The Argentine had previously denied the allegations, which were lodged by the Economic Crimes Prosecutor Barcelona on June 12.

Messi's father Jorge has also been implicated in the case, with both men reportedly scheduled to appear in court on September 17.

The claims circulate around alleged unpaid tax relating to sales of Messi's image rights. The 25-year-old is said to have avoided the charges by operating through companies based outside of Spain.

If found guilty, the FIFA Ballon d'Or winner faces a maximum penalty of six years in prison.

Messi's represenatives are yet to comment on the latest developments, but the forward professed his innocence strenously upon learning of the allegations earlier in the month.

"We have learned through the media about the claim filed by the Spanish tax authorities. We are surprised about this news, because we have not committed any infringement," he said in a statement.

"We have always fulfilled all of our tax obligations, following the advice of our tax consultants, who will take care of clarifying this situation."

So far so good. Where the hell was this when he played for Santos?

this is what he was doing at santos... he made his name there. All those youtube videos of him..you'll see him in a santos jersey for most of it. It's about time he started doing this for Brazil. 3 goals and 1 assist in 3 games is pretty sweet.

As for Messi and his tax case...this is how it will be handled....
