I wish I could of watched the match and celebration just was too tired.

DJ what do you thinking will happen with Wazaa? I think he is being a little sensitive. He asked for a transfer request because we need world class signings. We re-sign him then start getting players and now he is complaining about not getting 90 minutes when he is not on form sorry. He is one of my favorite players, as was Ronaldo, but business is business. He is about to hit that 30 year old mark where you get less and less for his transfer. No man over club but interested to hear your opinion.

Scholsey recently came out and said that he had a similar stubborn spell back in the day but that Ferguson fined him two weeks wages, and was done with it. He noted that when he looked back at the incident, he was just a young frustrated kid who wanted more playing time, similar to Rooney now.

In today's footballing climate he said, that kind of pouting is definitely a sackable offense, and with good reason. It's gotta be club over ego and if you can't deal with it, you can bounce full stop.

With that said, i'd cut losses with him and call it a day. He's lost interest in representing the shirt, and has his own ego to feed, and as you stated, he's pushing the 30 mark. I don't care how big your ego is, if you can't humble yourself enough to learn what United football is all about at this point, he never will. Maybe he'll go off to the England camp this summer and have a think, a heart to heart with Gary Neville, and maybe they can sway his mind, but if not, I say let him go.

From a pure footballing perspective, he's simply gone down hill as a #10, who I firmly believe Shinji Kagawa can be for us. That number requires the ability to maintain possession, and to be the central figure when needed, and Kagawa is earning that at a rapid pace. On a simplistic level, Kagawa doesn't lose the ball. Rooney may have started as a 9 for us, but he's ended up our 10, and he's yet to woo me with his role in the hole. Truth be told, RVP looked as effective in the hole against Swansea, and that's not a good sign.

The biggest issue from there however is who would take him for what he wants. Some 300k a week, with a 40 million transfer?

This is what he believes he's worth.

This is me.. :hmm:

Barcelona striker David Villa is close to completing a deal with Tottenham, according to reports in Spain.

Spurs boss Andre Villas-Boas is known to be a big fan of the Spain international and now his hopes of bringing the 31-year-old to north London could well come to fruition.

Despite assurances from Barcelona boss Tito Vilanova that he still had a major role to play at the Nou Camp, Villa has found himself out of favour this season having started just 14 time for the recently crowned Spanish champions – scoring an impressive 15 goals.

José Mourinho clear to rejoin Chelsea as Real Madrid confirm his exit

Jos--Mourinho--008.jpg

Real Madrid have cleared the way for José Mourinho to leave the club and take over at Chelsea after the club president, Florentino Pérez, announced that Mourinho will leave the club at the end of the season by mutual agreement. The Portuguese is likely to be replaced by another former Chelsea manager, Carlo Ancelotti.

"We have decided to bring our relationship to an end at the end of the current season," Pérez said of Mourinho. "The club and manager agree the timing is right to bring our relationship to an end.

"On behalf of the board of directors I would like to thank José Mourinho for all his hard work over the last three years. The team have improved in the last three years and we wish him all the best."

The 50-year-old Mourinho has helped Madrid claim three trophies during his three years at the Bernabeu, winning the Primera Division, Copa del Rey and Spanish Supercopa.

But although he signed a contract extension with Madrid last summer tying him to the club until 2016, the season since has been disrupted by fallings-out with key players, among them the captain and goalkeeper Iker Casillas, the fans' favourite Sergio Ramos and more recently the defender Pepe.

Real were unable to defend their league title this season, surrendering it to Barcelona, and were last week beaten in the cup final by their city rivals Atletico - their first loss to their neighbours in 14 years - which saw Mourinho and Cristiano Ronaldo sent off.

During Mourinho's tenure, Madrid suffered three successive semi-final exits in the Champions League - a competition the club have been desperate to win since their ninth and last triumph in 2002.

Ancelotti has told Paris St-Germain he wants to leave but the move has so far been resisted by the French champions.

The club president Nasser Al Khelaifi told beinsport.fr: "Yes, we had discussions, he asked to depart for Real Madrid.

"I said it is not possible because he has a contract for one year more, so that is our decision.

"It is his problem, it is not our problem. We have offered him another year more on his contract as well as the one he has.

"When you have a contract, everyone is normally obliged to honour that."

Ancelotti said: "We have to decide together. My decision is to leave the club. It is not easy because I have had a very good relationship with everyone.

"It is not the time to explain the reason why I wish to leave the club, and perhaps I will never explain it."

During his three years at Chelsea Mourinho won two league titles, the League Cup twice and the FA Cup before falling out with the owner Roman Abramovich and leaving for Internazionale.

José Mourinho clear to rejoin Chelsea as Real Madrid confirm his exit

figured that idea/rumor would be happening

Yankees & Man City teaming up to launch a 2nd MLS team in the city. I'll admit I don't really follow MLS nor know how much of a fan base the Metrostars have (I refuse to call them but that ridiculous new name) but don't think we need another team in the metro-NY area. Plus I think resources could be used in a better way than building a football stadium wherever they plan to put one.....unless they forever share Yankee Stadium

UEFA plans to boost Europa League

UEFA is set to announce on Friday a change to Europa League rules that will award the winners a place in the Champions League - but it is as yet unclear what afftect it could have on teams who qualify via league position.

atleticomadridlifteuropaleague20120509_275x155.jpg

Atletico Madrid won the Europa League in 2012, which would have elevated them to the Champions League

The regulations of European competition run on a three-year cycle, the latest of which began in 2012. Any changes agreed will not take effect for another two seasons, meaning the winners of the 2015 Europa League final in Warsaw would be the first beneficiaries.

UEFA's executive committee, meeting in London ahead of the Champions League final, is eager to find a way to add greater importance to the Europa League amid concerns that teams from some of the major leagues do not take the competition - which replaced the UEFA Cup in 2009 - seriously enough.

The organisation's president Michel Platini has criticised French clubs' attitude to the competition, with Marseille, runners-up to Valencia in Gothenburg in the 2004 UEFA Cup, the only side to make the final of the top two competitions in the last 14 seasons.

Clubs in Italy, who used to dominate European football's secondary competition, rarely make any kind of impact, with Parma the last Italian team to reach the final, beating Marseille in Moscow in 1999.

UEFA will also consider raising to five the limit on the number of sides from one association in the Champions League, having for many years ruled that there should be a maximum of four.

Increasing the number of teams from the major nations would go against Platini's masterplan to make the Champions League more accessible to teams from smaller nations, which enabled clubs such as APOEL Nicosia to make giant strides. There is likely to be opposition to England, Germany and Spain being allowed a fifth participant.

The only time this number has been exceeded was in 2005, when Liverpool won the Champions League but finished fifth in the Premier League.

UEFA then had no rule to cover the Champions League winners not also qualifying via their league position. The Premier League insisted it would still enter the top four league clubs, meaning UEFA was forced to create a space in the first qualifying round for Liverpool, with no country protection for the Anfield club in the draws. This resulted in Liverpool and Chelsea both being drawn in Group G - a first for the competition.

But UEFA closed that loophole the same summer, ruling that if the Champions League winners come from an association that has four places, but that team finished outside the top four in the league, then the fourth-placed team drops into the Europa League. Spurs therefore played in the Europa League in the current campaign despite finishing fourth last season after Chelsea won the Champions League but finished sixth in the league.

If UEFA does not increase the maximum number of teams from one association from four to five, then a change to the Europa League regulations could impact on the nations that have four places via their domestic league - currently England, Germany and Spain.

Atletico Madrid, for instance, won the Europa League in 2012 but then only finished fifth in La Liga. With a limit of four clubs per country, Atletico winning a place in the Champions League would have relegated Malaga into the Europa.

The situation becomes further complicated should clubs from outside the top four of one league win both the Champions League and Europa League. The teams finishing in third and fourth would therefore have to compete in the Europa League the following season. It is highly improbable, though, that UEFA would ever permit six clubs from one association to enter the Champions League.

What is certain is that if the Europa League winners have already qualified for the Champions League, then the Europa League runners-up will not be entitled to enter the elite competition.

It has also been announced that the 2015 Champions League final will be played in the German city of Berlin, with the Europa League final in Warsaw, Poland.

Reports: Neymar to join Barcelona

neymarandmessi201204010_275x155.jpg

Brazilian club Santos has accepted two offers made by Barcelona and Real Madrid for Neymar, and reports in the Catalan media say the 21-year-old forward has chosen to play for Barcelona.

Details of the offers were not made official, but Sport.es reported that Barcelona will pay 25 million euros ($32.3 million) and play two friendly matches with Santos, one in each team's stadium.

Mundo Deportivo reported an agreement between Barcelona and Santos was signed after midnight Brazilian time Saturday morning after intense negotiations from Real Madrid, which insisted on paying more until the last moment.

Brazilian media reported that Real Madrid was willing to pay 35 million euro ($45.1 million), but Neymar has said in the past that his personal preference is to play alongside Lionel Messi in Barcelona.

Any transfer could be complicated by the complex nature of Neymar's ownership arrangement, with various investment groups holding a stake in the player as well as the club. Mundo Deportivo reported that Real Madrid president Florentino Perez offered about 140 million euros ($180 million) combined to the club and the private investors but could not strike a deal.

Santos vice president Odilio Rodrigues hinted early Saturday that Neymar had a "gentleman's agreement" with Barcelona.

Neymar led Santos to its greatest run since Pele stopped playing for the club in the 1970s. The youngster helped Santos win the 2010 Brazilian Cup, the 2011 Copa Libertadores and three straight Sao Paulo state championships. He is the club's leading scorer in the post-Pele era with 138 goals in 229 matches.

Neymar is likely to join his new club after playing for Brazil in the Confederations Cup in June.

Neymar trained with his Santos teammates on Saturday in what was likely his last practice session at the Brazilian club.

Neymar learned the details of the offers early Saturday morning in the coastal city of Santos, but left Santos' headquarters without giving any hints about which team he will choose.

"I'm happy to know that these two clubs are interested in me. I'm very proud, it's one of the happiest moments of my life," a smiling Neymar said. "I'll look at both offers very carefully. I'll go home and make a decision along with my family. I'm not in a hurry. The decision may come in five minutes, in half an hour or in three days."

Neymar was accompanied by his dad, Neymar Silva Santos, who handles the player's career. He said it will be mostly up to the youngster to decide his future.

"We are not going to rush into a decision," Santos said. "We will talk about it and see what he wants to do, it's his decision."

Neymar's dad said the player was expected to play for Santos in the team's opening match in the Brazilian league on Sunday, against Flamengo in Brasilia.

Santos said on its official Twitter account late Friday that it "received two offers for Neymar" and accepted to "negotiate the player." It said Neymar and his dad were "going to choose which offer" to accept.

"We did everything we could to keep Neymar playing for Santos," vice president Rodrigues said.

Santos earlier this week reportedly rejected a 20 million euro ($25.8 million) offer made by Barcelona, saying it was too low.

The club was trying to sell Neymar before his contract ran out in six months, when Neymar would be available to sign with any club without Santos collecting a fee.

Neymar officially rejected a 35 million euro offer from Chelsea in 2010, and a year later Santos said five European teams contacted the club to try to sign the youngster, who eventually re-signed with Santos until the 2014 World Cup, with a buyout clause of 65 million euro.

Bayern Munich reportedly also was trying to sign the 21-year-old forward, who is touted as the future of Brazilian football and the main player carrying the country's hopes to win the 2014 World Cup at home.

Neymar is an idol on the field and a celebrity off it in the South American country. He appears in dozens of television commercials or on billboards by sponsors that make him by far the best paid athlete in Brazil. This week he topped the list of most marketable athletes in the world in a report published by SportsPro magazine, finishing ahead of Barcelona forward Lionel Messi and golfer Rory McIlroy.

The Brazilian won FIFA's award for the best goal of the year in 2011 and was a finalist last year. He also made the best player of the year award list.

But he is also criticized by some in Europe for his dives and alleged attempts to fake injuries. Former Brazil and Santos great Pele has repeatedly said that Neymar has the potential to be the best player in the world, even better than Messi, but he is one of the critics who recently said Neymar should try to stop diving so much.

Neymar is also criticized for disappointing performances at decisive moments with Brazil. His recent lackluster performances with the national team even attracted loud jeers from home fans.

I felt for dortmund they really missed goetze . There was something missing because reus and lewandoski link up wasn't working . Its a shame how bayern is treating dortmund as a shopping cart to buy out its best players . I wonder if klopp can recreate another team to battle bayern
