The problem was actually that my ID for the first identity document wasn't between the required specs that I highlighted below. My drivers license photo was 68k. I swapped that out for a higher quality photo and it went through..
- All documents must be high resolution, color image files.
- Allowed file type extensions are: jpeg, jpg, png.
- Files must be at least 98KB and at most 3MB.
- Image dimensions can be a minimum of 350 x 350px and maximum of 4096 x 4096px.
- Proof of residence document must contain name, address and be dated less than 3 months ago.
Another error that I came across was an email telling me that they need to see the edges of the identification. I had cropped mine after i scanned it.
