***Official 2018 FIFA World Cup Thread***

FIFA needs to change their rules. It was a foul, but it should never have been called, because the Iceland player didn't have full possession and he wouldn't have gotten possession anyways.

It's subjective I suppose. You still have to allow him access to the ball cause you never know. Maybe he can still get it.

In the traditional sense, it was a super soft pen, but I can see why it was given.

yeah man.. Navas had a hell of a game
My favorite net minder for the last 4 years. First squad selection for me. He never gets his credit and is was way more valuable and indispensable to Real' s success than I ever hear stated. Him and the black dude for Malaga. He's a true beast as well.

Wish Florentino would understand that and stop sniffing around De Gea, even though he ain't going nowhere. Navas is a huge part of Madrid's success and deserves that respect.

Kameni was one of my all time favs. Just nasty with it.

Enyeyama not too far behind either.

real talk tho he hangs on to the balk to much
Y'all must have forgotten. Go back 4 years and say that shit again. That boy is Brazil's life blood. Hold up play is drawing defenders who he has the talent to beat and he's mostly unselfish in his distribution. Let Neymar go out/down again and this team will fall apart. If they'd give him his fair calls he wouldn't have to flop. Refs are brutal with the no calls/refusal to card defenders

Neymar plays better on Brazil than he did on Barcelona.

So someone explain this to me. Head-to-head result it not the first tie-breaker in the World Cup, but goal differentia, then goals scored.

You're tripping G
Its Brazil
Every attacker on that squad is equipped to do what he does. Maybe not on his level, but if he wasn't on the team, they'd be just as feared. The drop in talent between him and the rest of the time isn't THAT huge. Replace him with Douglas Costa and they would have scored in the first half.

Nigeria wears their fire kit and actually plays up to their potential. If Senegal and Nigeria manage to get out of their groups...

Fam, name one forward that actually gets burn besides Jesus that wasnt on the 2014 squad? And Jesus aint even the best forward on his club side.

You bugging!

I think you guys totally forgot how Brazil won those 5 World Cups. A matter of fact forget the Pele era, you guys forgot the structure of team '94 and '02.

About Neymar's threat on the pitch. Thinking that they can do better without him.
Oh okay
I stand behind that statement :dunno:
Every attacker on that squad is dangerous.
They drew with the Swiss and almost drew with a Concacaf team with Neymar on the pitch

2006 team had better attackers and they were a disappointment. A matter of fact that year they had the best player in the world.
The truth is Brazil is just not that good. They are truly overrated. Neymar is not the reason why the other attackers not flourishing.

We're going to have to agree to disagree my guy.
But I actually agree with the bolded part. I've felt that way for a minute. But pound for pound, they are better than the groups that they have played so far
