***Official 2010 FIFA World Cup Thread***

Naija fucked up big time.

I thought they had this game on lock.

Argentina gave us a gift by winning their game, but trust Naija to eff it all up.

I am so disappointed.

I'm so pissed right now Naija let me the fukk down, the game was there to me won. As a whole Africa has been poor as hell in this World Cup.

I am gutted. My pops bought a big tv last year and when Nigeria qualified he was proud as fuck. He was looking forward to cheering on the super eagles

They let millions of people down

Nigeria could not win when it mattered
Sani Kaita cost us a vital 3 points
Nigeria go to sleep at set pieces (the one area that you can prepare for)

Obafemi has been in Serie A and EPL

Yakubu has been in the EPL for years

They did not perform when it mattered. I am pissed off man

Asides from the goal keeper Vic Enyenma ... fuck the rest of the team. Hope they all tear their ACL's later on this summer. God willing of course....:hmm:

Oga, easy now.

:lol::lol::lol:

Enyenma was the dude. I hope he gets picked up by an European team and gets good $$$$

Me and you both man. Naija teams have always had that way of keeping you on the edge of your seat and either have you back flipping in celebration or just ripping your heat out. Look at how they were playing in the last 10 minutes of the match. Anyone that knows anything about Naija football knows that this shit is deeper than the performance we saw in this world cup. I'll leave it at that.

Exactly, and well put.

Naija football has disappointed me my whole life, except once. Olympics 1996, and the Golden Eaglets that won the Under 17 Cup.

Why are you trying to pick a corner on an empty net? :smh::smh::smh:

Also, why was martins trying to chip the ball into the net when he could have just blasted home?

They were way too "cute" for my liking...

Ivory coast only need what, 8 goals and Ghana only a result against Germany? 2 African sides into the last 16...:smh:

Yakubu has no excuse. I can see what Obafemi was trying to do and when the goalie is rushing out that finish can be effective.......when it works

Pally, I know, I know. I'm so heated right now because I know for a fact that Naija is better than this.

*flashbacks of the NTA game commentary in a deep Naija accent after a disgraceful loss... "And dat iz eet! Deh Soopah Eegols have bin eh-liminated!!"

That is what is more disappointing.

They all play in big leagues. Have played in big games, but always manage to fuck up. Always!!!

Left to me fuck the professional players. Get a locally based team. Coach them up. We will be better off. :smh:

i agree with you bro....100%....been naija i have to support..but fuck we have always played with that way....even when our teams were very solid like in usa 94....i thought the keeper let us down this game...but dude has saved our butts throughout the tournament so he gets a pass... The eagles team that played today was more like the naija teams i remember watching.

C/S

They always do that, when the game is almost done, then they try to play, damn shame

Hey, don't forget the cats that rcoked it in the '94 Nation's Cup and had an excellent showing in the World Cup later that year, albeit short lived thanks to a last minute defensive fuck up, the antics of Baggio and a CAC ref.

And the youth team's, the Eaglets and the Flying Eagles have been holding it down since '85. The catalog is deep. 4 U-17 championships, went to the U021 finals multiple times and the Olympic finals a couple years ago. The issues start with the senior team for reason i'm sure you know.

They need to quit this foreign coach CAC worshiping bullshit and get SiaSia and JJ to coach. They also need to line up every top official in the NFA in front of a firing squad on Leki beach and clap them nuccas. :hmm:

A motherfucker like you deserves no power. You will be evil as fuck :lol::lol:

I forgot about the '94 team that won the Nations Cup.

The keeper you referred to was Peter Rufai, and yes the youth teams represent very well.

Playing in a league team is a whole different dynamic. For one, you're playing with team mates from all over the world. I know I don't need to school you on the ethic political bs in Naija. Plus they're playing for more than just national pride. Money. The game is a lot more homogeneous too ...

Unbelievable

I have played enough football in my life and even a 5 year old can score this goal given the same circumstance.

open goal, open net, and you miss :smh:

He needs to be hung.

Isn't ESPN showing the Escobar Colombian player story tonight? All Naija players should watch that shit

i just dont believe they even tried to be honest. not as a team as a whole. some people did the whole game but they were lazy and had big brain farts. that 2nd goal that korea got today i mean come the fuck on. that's an easy stop. that's a ball that gets hit 999999 times and 999999 times if you even remotely pay attention you stop it.

the missed goals i mean wtf empty net, let me angle it. goal keeper down let me flick it. i mean i wouldnt have even been mad if he flicked it enough to run under it and guide it in. he coulda done that easily but nooo let me get this assured goa.... damn

Breh, I have said this for years at the youth level we are dope, wtf happens to those players? do they just fall into the abyss

Case in point, the team that Samson SiaSia coached that went to the U-21 and Olympic finals.

Man i've been looking for a tap/dvd of NIGERIA vs IVORY COAST in that 1994 nations cup for the longest time!! Easily some of the best football i've seen in my LIFE.

Who knows where I can get that shit.

BBC Sport's Alan Shearer:
"That Yakubu miss is honestly the worst miss I have ever, ever seen."

It is the worst miss Ive seen for sure....how the fuck do you miss on an open net and you are 10 feet in front of it with zero defensive pressure...

You might have to find someone who taped that shit in Naija.

That might be a hard find.

Thats what I don't get....how is the U-17 squad so good yet the senior team struggle so much?

:smh:

No. Some go to European leagues and go in. Some sign bad contracts and stay fucked in some non-descript Eastern European league (where da fuck is Phillip Osundu, Wilson Oruman and Dimeji Lawal, Mutiu Adepoju, ) Then get big heads. Some don't get the look and languish in Naija. Oliseh, Finidi, West and Kanu who all played in the youth teams (Kanu won in U-20 Japan '93) all did big things at Ajax. Oliseh later at Juventus and Kanu at ACMilan, Inter and Arsenal. Remember Babayaro? He was in that '95 U-17 championship team and ended up with a great career at Chelsea.

Remember the 1999 U-20 that Spain won. Featured Shittu (Nig) that played today, Xavi (spain), Ronaldinho (Brazil), Bocanegra (USA), Camara (Mali) ... remember him? LOL.
