We went out just as I expected.

I think the problem this time was that Lagerbeck didn't have enough time to prep with the players. He made some big selection errors today. The guy that started left back, and that fool in central midfield giving away all the free kicks shouldn't have been anywhere near a football field. Yakubu clearly been eating too much eba, and was in no condition to play such a big role at the World Cup. And Obasi aint a winger.

But regardless of selection issues the players seriously let the nation down. We clearly had more talent than them, but there was no urgency in our approach. The players abandoned basic defending principles and opted not to close down their men or even mark. These players would never get away with that when playing for their clubs, so why do it when playing for Naija? Even with the defensive frailties, if we had pressed their right back we would have comfortably won that game.

I'm actually pissed, because if it wasn't for pure stupidity, we could have comfortably qualified with 6 points.

Time to build a new squad. These overpaid bastards need to be shown the door, and we need to bring in some hungry players that take pride in playing for their nation.

Hey, don't forget the cats that rcoked it in the '94 Nation's Cup and had an excellent showing in the World Cup later that year, albeit short lived thanks to a last minute defensive fuck up, the antics of Baggio and a CAC ref.

And the youth team's, the Eaglets and the Flying Eagles have been holding it down since '85. The catalog is deep. 4 U-17 championships, went to the U021 finals multiple times and the Olympic finals a couple years ago. The issues start with the senior team for reason i'm sure you know.

They need to quit this foreign coach CAC worshiping bullshit and get SiaSia and JJ to coach. They also need to line up every top official in the NFA in front of a firing squad on Leki beach and clap them nuccas. :hmm:

okocha was on SA tv after the game nigga said he'd have bet his entire morgage on yakubu putting that shit in :lol::hmm:

Nigeria go to sleep at set pieces (the one area that you can prepare for)

I feel ya pain man. This is what i've been talking about throughout this thread. When it counts in football, when its crunch time, african teams always find a way to fall asleep. The mentals are out the window and emotion grabs hold. You are millionaire footballers!! Keep your emotions in check, and win a match! This is not to shit on em in any other fashion because the skill, and physical stamina is there beyond a doubt, but when it matters, you need the mind to be sharp, and Nigeria didn't execute that.

The problem with Nigeria which was evident within the first 3 minutes of the Argentina game, was a shocking indifference in midfield. When ever the other team took the ball, no Nigeria midfielder moved up to challenge the possession. The opponent simply walked the ball up to the back 4 and let and poor Enyeama and and the back line put out the fire. That goes to coaching. It is up to the coach to tell the players to put a full court press, or whatever press he wants. The football the Nigerians played is the football we played back home as kids. If they take the ball you sit and wait for the defenders to get it back. The only good thing is that the other side played the same way so we ended with dcores of 16-13. The way we changed hlaves would be say 8 change goal,16 finish ball. Who ever got to 8 first, we changed halves. Who ever got to 16 first won the game.

The only thing is that the opponents of Nigeria, Argentina and South Korea, are pesky; they will run you all over the field if you get the ball from them...

The solution to the Nigerian team is to let every single one of these players go, with the possible exception of Enyeama. Pay Lagenback his contract termination fee and let him go back to Europe. From there, turn this thing over to Siasia and Keshi and let them start over with a tteam of youth. It is possible Nigeria may not make the next cup; so what. Hopefully, they would be ready by 2018, because we sure never want to see this nonsense ever again;

Cameroon basically need to do the same thing. Get rid of the Le Guen, Rto'o and all those motherfuckers, and start with the youth. In their case, put them in class and teach them tactics, because in my judgement, Cameroon was even worse than Nigeria...

South Africa should let these players move on; they have gone as far as they will. It needs to target bigger youths and develop them. In 8 years, it can contend for a World Cup place. Also, let it resist any invitation to host the Olympics; there is no need to throw any more money away...

In all fairness, it's not only African teams ...

Watch Ghana pull the same shit, if they can get to Naija's level. :hmm:

there you go fuckin up again half that team is still in their early twenties especially the cats the played well tshabalala, Khuboni, khune, mphela, josephs, parker, ngcongca. A smart person would keep them as his core group and build from there. All these players are locally based and play in what you described as a shitty league yet they managed to hang with world class players. FYI the next will be local we knew this even before we started preparing for the world cup perreira was chosen because he'd already coached the players previously for continuity's sake but of course you knew that :hmm:

That was some sad shit in regards to the Colombian team and what they had to go thru. :smh::smh::smh: Muthafuckas rigging the hotel TV systems to they could broadcast death threats to them at the US World Cup? WTF?

Absolutely. This cup has brought forth alotta twists and turns for sure. I just meant historically speaking, this seems to be the glaring issue. I wonder how Ghana will fair in their group.

Thank you sir. Much appreciated.

"Life doesn't end here."

Powerful and very moving documentary.

You are welcome. Without being melodramatic; people who are not into sport do not understand the bigger picture that is the background to the multi billion pound industry. People need to see this

So it was the coach's fault for him miscontrolling the ball in what should have been an effective counter attak against Argentina?

As we have seen with England; people hide behind the coach. Step your own game up!!!

I think its bitchmade, especially since he got the last coach fired. SiaSia needs to step up and fix this shit
