***Official 2010 FIFA World Cup Thread***

That is exactly what we have been telling you; horrible calls, by the same people over and over and over and over and over again. It is the South European and Latin Americans who are killing football with this shit. Mexico did it against France, Uruguay against South Africa, and Now the Fascista against the mass murderers now occupying the island of New Zealand.

Everyone does it.

That man from Ivory Coast is not wearing national team colours while doing the diving exercise, why?

Emanuel Eboue who plays for my team, Arsenal

I am an Arsenal fan living in London. One day I am petrol station and he rolls in. I ask him about football and diving.....he says to me 'Everyone does it, you have to convince the referee'

I agree that the virus started in latin countries, but it is now a global pandemic

The English tv panel were dick riding the Kiwis. But Patrick Viera (Milan, Inter and Juve) and Marcel Desailly (AC Milan) put a stop to that. That kiwi fucker Fallon uses his elbows twice

As an England fan, I have to say that Michael Owen's two dives against Argentina in consecutive world cups (1998 & 2002) were of the highest quality.

Penalties were awarded and converted on both times

:lol::lol::lol:

Italy sucks, lol.

La Stampa (The media) is going to heavily criticise them for this

The biased English media wanted the Kiwis to win. Fucking arseholes forget how much New Zealand loves to beat England at rugby and cricket

Yes, Italy have drawn two games. But you cannot compare Italy's clever passing triangles to England's bollocks

Italy hit the post and the man of the man should have been the kiwi gk who kept them in the game

This team is a joke. The Irish must be watching this in laughter.

Raymond Domenech says Anelka refused to apologise

As if France did not have enough problems, they now have a "traitor" in their ranks, according to the captain, Patrice Evra. Les Blues have endured a torrid World Cup, taking only one point from their opening two Group A ties to stand on the brink of elimination.

They have been beset by in-fighting, with the coach, Raymond Domenech, struggling to keep control of his players and the latest set-back came when Nicolas Anelka abused him during a dressing-room row at half time in the Mexico defeat last Thursday. The striker was subsequently sent home.

The Chelsea striker is reported to have said to Domenech: "Go fuck yourself, you son of a whore." He was immediately substituted for André-Pierre Gignac and, having refused to apologise, the French Football Federation took the decision to expel him from the squad.

Evra, though, is incensed at the way that the story was leaked. "The problem is not Anelka, it's the traitor among us who told the press what was said. There's somebody in our group that wants to harm the France team," he said.

Domenech felt that he had dealt with the issue and he was ready to move on, pending an apology from Anelka but, like Evra, he was upset that the row was made public. "People cannot imagine the pressure," said Domenech. "We are in a dressing room, the coach says something to a player who is already under pressure, he can react angrily, and with strong words. Anelka did not react in the most suitable fashion, but it was just a guy sitting in his corner and muttering – that would not have mattered had it stayed there.

"What was important was that it made the front page of a newspaper, and that exposes the internal life of the squad. I sorted out the problem internally, and as far as I was concerned it was done and dusted."

Domenech said that he had "left open the possibility" on Friday for Anelka to apologise but the player was not prepared to do so. "The decision to exclude him, then, was the right one," Domenech said. "I am sorry for the children for whom the French team represents something. Anelka does not have the right to say such things."

France play their final group tie against South Africa in Bloemfontein on Tuesday and they need a handsome victory coupled with a positive result in the Uruguay-Mexico game to advance. "As for qualification, I don't believe in miracles," Evra said.

France are like a soap opera

I see where Evra is coming from. What would happen in club football? You can't sack the player for insulting the manager

I think whoever leaked the story did not expect the level of solidarity from the other players which sparked a rebellion

ITV has just shown some footage of the argument between Evra and the fitness coach. It looked heated..........but Evra has napoleon complex being a little guy. Remember this 'extra time' brawl

2006, Italy dove to get a penalty against Austrailia.

2010, Italy dives to get a penalty against New Zealand.

This is a team swimming in Oceania. Italians are the best divers in world football hands down.

They make Ronaldo look like a guppy swimmin white the great whites... or blues.

Didn;t Kobe spend some time in Italy? I swear I thought he talked with the refs the way they were getting calls.

The biggest surprise of the tournament has not been how poorly African teams have done, but the poor performance of so-called European powerhouses. Spain, England, France, Germany, Italy have played a combined 9 games and have only 1 win to show for it. Anyways, the tournament officially begins today with Ivory Caost aginst Brazil.

Really who has been impressive in this tourney? The only one I can think of is the Dutch and I'm not even sure about that b/c I haven't seen their matches.

I got no problem w/ them beating Port....would fuck up my bracket (like it doesn't look good already so far) but I'm fine with that.

And who saw that Brasilian chick they showed dancing in the stands 5 mins or so ago?
