African teams will break you're heart every time:smh:...Dennis Rommedahl couldn't get off the bench when he played for Charlton Athletic 5 years ago and just styled over the cameroon national team defense...depressing:smh:

Thus far, the first African World Cup is not at all what I expected. The majority of the African sides still seem to be lacking the belief and self confidence that their players show individually at club level. I don't get it.

It is very ironic that African teams have played their best football outside of the continent. Maybe the expectation levels were too high?

With the exception of Ghana's determined performance against Serbia, I have not been impressed at all

Hopefully the Ivory Coast can restore some pride

Hopefully Drogba can be the African star the tournament desperately needs. Fingers crossed...

Not just the first, but the last for the next 50 years.. South Africa, which has by far the best infrastructure on the continent still had to plough $5 billion into the World Cup; how much more a country that has to install phone lines, ATM machines, internet access, efficient transportation, to say nothing of renovating, airports, building new stadium and renovating existing stadiums to the exacting Fifa standards... No one else can do it...

they will. south africa wasnt that good. cameroon just has no defense ghana is playing well ivory is playing well algeria is playing well though i cant root for them

he will be tomorrow. he'll show up and something good.

Other than France, the African teams have lived up to my predictions... My two dark horses, Ghana and Algeria and making Africa look better than it should. If Algeria takes care of business against the US, as it can, our batting average for the continental African teams could be 50%, which would be higher than in previous World Cups.

I told you about Cameroon and Nigeria, and they made me look like a genius... I know my teams...

Cameroon paid dearly for changing coaches. Philip Le Guen simply has failed. Forget the stupid strategy against Japan... Standard football philosophy says that when you are ahead 1-0, you retreat and pack it in. Defense is the stronger of the two forms warfare. If they become overzelous in their attempt to equalise, opportunites to counter attack avail themselves. Ask a superior Mexico, how the US punished it in this fashion in 2002 in Korea...

Defense is not, and should never be, about the back 4; the back 4 should be nothing but the fire brigade, not law enforcement officers... The Japanese have two layers of defense, with 5 midfielders playing in front of the back 4. This makes it hard to crack them, and say what you will, Snyder was lucky to have a ball that was in the keeper's hand end up in the net...

Le Guen should have copied that defense...

Portugal is one of the favourites; even without Drogba, Ivory Coast almost beat them... so I think Ivory Coast has impressed.

Africans do not play their best football outside the continent. We always have one team that goes to the next round. That is it. Nigeria, Cameroon, etc, have not done shit in the World Cup since the 1990s...

Cameroon in Italia 1990 and Nigeria in USA 1994. The most impressive performances by African teams in the world cup.

Those performances have not been eclipsed yet

Come on Italia

I am aware that Italian Americans may be the reason that brothers would like New Zealand to win

But, take it from me, I have worked with Kiwis and they were racist as hell

They are separated from ethnic diversity and have a hatred for all things that are not white

Fuck em!!

Italy cannot lose this game. The Italian media are even worse than the English for savaging their own team

Kiwis are too physical. It's not rugby

I think Italy will draw it soon to be honest...im just hoping when they do it remains a draw:D

I do not want to hear anyone complain against the African referee after this shit. Did you see that fucking penalty? How does someone pull back, he releases you and you flop forwards...and you get a penalty... I hope Africans show nuts and defend Mr Coulibaly...

Agreed.

This call was 100X worse

Horrible Pen Call :smh::smh:

That is exactly what we have been telling you; horrible calls, by the same people over and over and over and over and over again. It is the South European and Latin Americans who are killing football with this shit. Mexico did it against France, Uruguay against South Africa, and Now the Fascista against the mass murderers now occupying the island of New Zealand.

He held his shirt and enabled the flop. Don't pull shirts!

He played straight into his hands

If the shirt hold had anything to do with it, by what law of physics do you fall in the direction opposite to that which you where pulled. According to the physics taught to me by cacs, that is impossible.

World Cup 2010: Kaita gets death threats after red card

Nigeria midfielder Sani Kaita has had more than 1,000 death threats since being sent off during Thursday's 2-1 loss to Greece at the World Cup.

http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport2/hi/football/world_cup_2010/8750418.stm

They are threatening the wrong person; they should be threatening Lagenback...And the whole Nigerian team for playing like fucking pussies. But may be this unprecedented anger by the African mass needs to wake up these players so that they can understand how seriously we take this shit. The players France, and the other Africans countries have exhibited shocking apathy, putting their personal complaints above those of their nations. Nigeria needs to axe and ban every single player on their team, except Odemwingie, and start from scratch. Cameroon needs to do the same. Both need to never again hire foreign coaches...
