Now Algeria's goalie fucked up.

That goal was more legItimate than the one which Dempsey scored.. The goal keepers view was obscured by two defenders, I do agree that he should have parried the ball to the side, at least..Damn too games in this group decided by bad goal keeping. I was impressed with the speed of both teams, the ability of their players and the good play in midfield. I found the game in the 29 th minute and it looked like an even affair to me. Either of these is the kind of team that is not good for the USA because of their speed, and natural football. These sorts of teams give the US, a hard time... This result is not good for the US and England because now Slovenia has 3 points and is in command of the group. If they get one more win or 2 draws, they are through.. That is exactly what I was alluding to yesterday...Algeria are a good team, and they are gonna get a point or more from England and the US; and I put my money on them getting it from the US...
This result makes the US game against slovenia a must win.. Slovenia can play for a draw..Advantage Slovenia because they are a fast counter attacking team...Algeria and England are also in must win situation. If Algeria get a draw, they will need to beat the US by such as margin as to erase the any goal differential deficit they may face...

First two days were packed with monster saves and horrendous errors from goalkeepers.

Ruud Gullit said the Algerian keeper was playing volleyball. :roflmao:

Yo Limey, got a question for you. A few years back I was on a Euro tour, and happen to catch a friendly between England and some other side, I can't remember. Anyway, I'm in my hotel room watching the match, and 1 of the back 4 players kick the ball to the GK, and he decided to kick ball to midfield while looking elsewhere.:smh: He kicks at the ball, but his foot gets underneath it, puts a backspin on it, and it goes into his own goal. Is this the same guy? This happened around 2006.

The thing about the English is that they cry too much.. we will be hearing about that goal for years.. I remember when Ronaldinho scored that goal against Seaman in 2002, the English cried for days and months on end... Do not even talk about the handball Maradona scored by...

Are you fucking kidding me? did you really watch the game. Slovenia are slow as hell, and damn weak to. They were constantly getting beaten and pushed off the ball. Algeria deserved to win that game.

LET'S GO BLACK STARS!!!!!!

Michael Essien's ball control ability is missed badly. Ghana gotta control midfield better.

C'Mon BlackStars, beat these Serbs

Yeah! That's the play! Thanks.:lol:

The Ghanaian midfield did its job. As a result, the forwards were able to pressure the Serbian defence. The midfield also helped the backline, and Ghana is playing as well as Algeria did today. Serbia are tired... especially their bigger men... and after the hour mark, I think we are going to see danger situations develop in their area. Both teams are, both midfields are playing well. And what a brilliant scheme the Serbs had on the free kick... The Ghanaian midfield is contesting balls and that is what Nigeria did not do all game long, and that is what South Africa did not do in the first half...

Slovenia are a good and fast team. Do not confuse footspeed with team speed. If that was the case, Jamaica would be the fastest team in football. The speed of a team is determined by how fast it can carry the ball while maintaining a coherent attacking formation.

Yesterday, Nigeria completely abused the concept by throwing long passes into one long striker thinking he would get one break on his defenders. The Nigerians have extremely fast players but they did not play a fast game, which as you know, is the best foil for South American football.

Slovenia are fast because when they get to the other end, they still have rational attacking formation. Brazil are slow, because their is a game based on slow build ups. Italy are fast in counter attack because they have a formation to support the movement of the ball...

Comprehende?

What makes you think 'the English' want to remind the world of a mistake by our own keeper? Depending on how England fare in the rest of the tournament, that error may be instantly forgotten

The Ronaldinho goal was quite rightly debated. But not for long at all. Ronaldinho's audacity was praised and in fact this was applauded rather than focusing on his sending off in the same game

As for Maradona's hand of of god. What you must remember is that England were drawing 0-0 with Argentina when that handball goal was allowed.

You have to consider that this was also against Argentina. A country that Britain had been at war with. I fully acknowledge Diego's brilliance.

But if you would have been eliminated by a cheat goal in the world cup, you may be inclined to mention it. The fact that the world's greatest player did that only adds to prolonging of the 'crying'.

It's actually a backhanded compliment that it is still mentioned because he scored arguagbly the best ever goal in the same game

"You have to say that is magnificent" and "there is no debate about that one" BBC Commentator Barry Davies. Guess which number that 2nd goal is in this compilation?

Can players blame the ball being used?

In every game, I have seen the ball given away whilst attempting simple short passes

The Algerian goalkeeper certainly wanted to be remembered with that hairstyle and in conceding that soft goal he has certainly given himself more of a profile

England's goal keepers are not good enough. It was Paul Robinson against Croatia. The video is a couple of pages before this post

Talking of Croatia, England were on course for the 2008 Euro's when this happened. Different GK this time
