Make Shuri the black panther. It would be the first movie with a black female lead to do a billion.
Also, do a tribute to Chadwick in the opening the way they did it for Stan at the beginning of Captain Marvel.
I agreeThe narrative that you shouldn't talk about someone immediately after their passing is kinda stupid. As long as it isn't disrespectful its giving the deceased permanent life. Some of you ninjas are killing the man twice. Its ok but maybe yall should log off for a day or two until your emotions settle.
Damn, so you are willing to let the Brothas work just die? Chadwick death will allow for another brotha to shine. That would mean even in death Chadwick is changing livesI would not have a problem with Shuri being Black Panther.Other, than Shuri I will not watch BP 2 with other person playing Black Panther...
The problem with casting after Chadwick Boseman is similar to casting for Tupac.marvel is good at casting, but recasting gonna be tricky, its gonna kind of like when heath ledger died. To me, nobody after him have done the joker role any justice like he did.
Gotta do like they did with Joaquin Phoenix and less than what they did with Jared Leto. Gotta create another version of him. To me it worked with Phoenix's Joker.marvel is good at casting, but recasting gonna be tricky, its gonna kind of like when heath ledger died. To me, nobody after him have done the joker role any justice like he did.
For those unfamiliar with the Shuri's storyline.
Shuri is the next Black PantherI'm fine if they recast the role. Have John David Washington pick up the role T'Challa.
If not, then as others have indicated just have Shuri become the new Black Panther.
Having Killmonger come back would be wack, especially with how much he fucked up Wakanda in the first BP movie.
This is all too early though, let his family and fans mourn....
I loved comicbook shuri when hudlin was writing her
He is not coming back fam. If this is to sensitive of a subject you may need to exit the thread

So dope!
Disney will not let this money machine go. Hell, Disney even made ALL theaters stop showing Black Panther in hopes that people would go sign up for Disney+.all this bring killmonger back tells me y'all really don't know about black panther.
i agree with the OP don't do a 2nd black panther movie.....
UNLESS
Shuri becomes the black panther and they CGI him in as king of the dead. they can spin it off the doom war or acts of vengeance arcs since they are bringing doom into the marvel universe
Don't forget about Ironman recast of Rodey Terrence Howard in Don Cheadle. That was a horrible recast involving two good actors.Disney will not let this money machine go. Hell, Disney even made ALL theaters stop showing Black Panther in hopes that people would go sign up for Disney+.
As mentioned earlier, Shuri becomes the Black Panther in the comics. So, this makes sense.
Although other roles have been recast before, you can not in this situation. First, when others were recanted, it was a different continuity. Except for cases like Aunt Viv. The other huge problem is, that Bozeman's off camera impact is too great. This would make it virtually impossible for anyone to step in other than Shuri.
Killmonger as the Black Panther is a no go. Plus, he has his own story that could be told and made into a movie.

I would say they were tone deaf to the Black community with that casting. Like the producers go "What's the big deal? They both black right?"It was only awkward because of the of the height and skin tone difference. Don is a better actor.

So if they are okay with replacing Chadwick.. I would go with Chiwetel Ejiofor.
.... #inserstBlerdRageNow
Facts.... He is already in use so I would say then T'Challa has died. Big Up ShuriChiwitel already plays Baron Mordo in the Doctor Strange movies. He's the former ally turning villain. He's supposed to have a cameo in the Shang Chi movie.
What did you want to see in the casting? I thought Don was a great replacement under the circumstances.I would say they were tone deaf to the Black community with that casting. Like the producers go "What's the big deal? They both black right?"

His role was not big enough for him to be out of the casting discussion. Mordo can be replaced. Chiwitel has the acting chops for sure.
Chris Evans and micheal b were both part of marvel movies before joining MCU. Chiwitel I seriously doubt be casted as the next panther since he already has a role in the MCU. And War machine being being replaced was much easier since he was a sidekick lol.You are assuming they don't have bigger plans for the character in future movies.
Besides, Disney/marvel has a rule about not double dipping. Vision was supposed to the exception to the rule (although I am kind of confused as ti why Vision/Jarvis w
as considered double dipping).
If you mention Chris Evans, I think they gave him a pass because he never was in any Disney/Marvel movies prior to Captain America.
Shuri has got to be next and her story line can be so dope coming to screen.
For those unfamiliar with the Shuri's storyline.
They would have to bring in Storm in order in to do this properly..probably may also wind up bringing the XMen into the MCU a little sooner than expected
As for recasting..if they were thinking of putting John Boyega in the role they better think again seeing how he currently speaking out against Disney
Hopefully Shuri
The difference is the existence of the MCU. With Superman and Reeves, it was a new movie, with a new cast. This is one of the reasons Joaquin Phoenix worked as Joker. There was no attachment to Ledger's world. So the "Don't recast." crowd never want to see T'Challa on screen forever? You're all okay with Shuri forever being the Black Panther?
I'm just asking because as amazing as the Chadwick's portrayal & offscreen presence was isn't the character itself legendary & a role model for many young people?
What if DC had this same thoughts when Christopher Reeves was paralyzed? Just never portray Superman ever again.
Or what about the Joker when Heath Ledger died. Never have the Joker on screen again because of the way Heath portrayed the character.
Many people think Wolverine shouldn't be recast because of the portrayal of Hugh Jackman.
I believe Black Panther/T'Challa is too important to just shelve forever. Shuri can have her moment in Black Panther 2 because 2022 or even 2023 is too soon to recast the role.
But eventually Disney will have to recast the role. It's going to be divisive of course. But you can't let a hero of many young black men be dead with so many amazing stories yet to be told.
I don't believe Chadwick would have taken this role if he believed after he past they would just kill (or equivalent) off the character forever.
Celebrate this man's life & work definitely. But don't just eliminate one of the few positive black superheroes that exist from film forever.
When I saw a clip tribute to Chadwick boseman judging from his words he understands the importance of black panther. He knew thecharacter was bigger than himself so I think he wouldn't mind passing the torch or being replaced and the sequel is two uears away they havent even begun shooting. at the above pic black panther is important to our youth because it gives them a hero who represents no unity and a positive figure to look up to . me personally I say replace him with another actor and not shuri. I'm not familiar with her run as panther in the comics and Wakanda is supposed to be going up against atlantis in the sequels. I want to se t'challa go up against major not shuri

If they are to continue BP in the MCU, a recast will be super difficult and will probably not be as accepted because of the emotional attachment. There could be a reboot outside of the MCU.
Also, for those saying Shuri can't do it because it cuts out Storm, Namur, no herb, etc., remember and realize this. Marvel's MCU has taken a bunch of liberties with storylines and characters. Two of the biggest have been Thanos and Hulk. Both are far from the comics depictions.
My point is, canon can be changed.
I would like to offer this food for thought as well. Why are people acting like Black Panther is the only black character??? This is a perfect time to launch Blue Marvel, the most powerful black character in Marvel.
