That’s the point. If any medicine gives you a slight chance of hurting you and zero benefit, why would you take it?
Do you know how stupid that statement is? For example, seatbelts can kill under the wrong circumstances, say you fell in a lake and cannot free yourself, does this mean you shouldn't wear them? What about people whose parachutes failed them, does this mean you are better off without one?

This is a study provided by the CDC with data on millions of people. If you are waiting for a “better” peer reviewed study, good luck.
The data is in the report, it shows that vaccinated who never had Covid are 3 TIMES MORE likely to get Covid than those with natural immunity. It also says that people who have natural immunity get no benefit in reduced hospitalization rates (.3 in 1,000 chance whether you get the vac or not). All the numbers are there and clearly laid out.
Again you are missing the point. On your example, seatbelts are universally helpful. There is a small chance that they can injur you. But if you balance the benefits against the risks, it is clear you should wear a seatbelt.
For people that already had Covid and are considering whether to take it, there are zero benefits to taking the vaccine (according to the cdc study). So the benefits -zero - do not outweigh the harms.

We are not moving towards covid being endemic. Endemic does not simply mean that the virus is not going anywhere and we have to just learn to live with it. Endemic means that we have reached a steady state. Huge waves of infections year round and hospitals being overwhelmed is not a characteristic of any endemic infectious disease.
Fat people filling up hospitals is everyone's problem. People have died of non covid related emergencies due to all the hospitals in their area being filled with covid patients.
By unvaxed I'm assuming you mean with a prior infection. I'd love to see the science that shows that an unvaccinated person with natural immunity from Delta is better protected against Omicron than a never infected person with two shots and a booster.

So, to make a long story longer, yes natural immunity is better and yes a vaccine is also a good tool.

LOL. So the vaccinated group is 3 times more likely to get covid vs the unvaccinated group (who already 100% caught covid) getting it AGAIN and you think this is good news for the unvaccinated? They already lost getting covid the first time. They lost twice when they got it the second time.
Unvaccinated in this case = survived but may have lingering conditions not to mention possible hospital bills from both cases or job loss depending on how long they were out.

Your logic is flawed because no study can foresee who your natural immunity would fare vs different/future strains, and what the study is not saying, and I think you are getting really mixed up with, is that it is not saying, in any shape or form, that you will be better off not getting vaccinated and allowing your natural immunity kick in, because it's true that if you survive getting covid, you will be better off than a person that has been vaccinated, but the key is surviving and or living without any long term side effects. Also, your natural immunity will be lower than someone who was both immunized and tested positive for Covid, because in this scenario the person would have both vaccine and natural immunity under his belt (using your own balance vs risk logic).
Again your inability to properly comprehend the study does not mean they are saying you are better off with no protection than being vaccinated!

Clearly no one in here read the study, by the confused responses. The study looked at 4 groups
1. People who never had Covid and did not get the vaccine.
2. People who never had Covid and did get the vaccine
3. People who got Covid, but never received the vaccine.
4. People who got Covid, and got the vaccine.
The study found that Group 2 (vaccinated) was 5 times more likely to be hospitalized than group 3 unvaccinated.
The study also found that Group 3 and Group 4 had the same rate of hospitalization (.3 in 1000).
The study also showed, like what most of you are saying, that Group 1 did by far the worst of all groups.
I am not saying that the study says the vaccine offers no benefit to anyone. But when talking about people in Group 3, the vaccine offers no protection against hospitalization. The vaccine does have very serious,yet rare, side effects

Vaccinated alone: Does not include booster whose effectiveness is said to just below people who are vaccinated with exposure to Covid. But this is the safest and effects form of protection.
Vaccinated plus exposure: People who test positive in conjunction with having the vaccine. This is the greatest form of protection and though it has a much lesser risk of complications and death than doing nothing, it does have a slightly elevated risk than just being vaccinated.
Natural immunity= Sucks because you have to actually catch Covid and cross your fingers that you don't die or have long-term complications. Plus you will still be subjected to future variants.
Natural immunity > Vaccinated alone.
