Music Debate: Joe Budden & Skillz explain their TOP 5 WORST Rappers, AGREE??

East coast heads don't get west coast rap.I heard the same thing about 40, Short, Suga Free etc. I think it's probably because west coast and east coast hip hop fans are looking for something different. Lyrics do matter to a certain extent but rappers that can spit game and tell a story are more popular in the west. East coast folk are into lyricist but there is more to being a good rapper then catchy rhymes and metaphors. I think if you stop worrying about the lyrics and listen to what they are saying you might get it. Particularly on 40 and Short they been rapping since the mid 80's longer then a lot of you have been alive, still selling albums and doing shows and tours, still relevant. How many other rappers from that era can say that?

E 40 has been rapping for over 30 years and he’s awful at it. Silk had Mystikal save a couple tracks. I remember hearing the I got 5 on it and knowing 40 was going to be on it. I started getting anxious. That guy stinks.

So I heard Ghetto D recently and I'm going to shoot Silkk some bail here because he seemed like he didn't know what type of flow he wanted to use, this is why he was all off beat all the time...i think if he could have gotten off no limit and started on his own, he would have been better? :dunno:

Based off of his rapping on Ghetto D, im going to say he has potential...

Is Tone Loc considered a rapper? cause if he is, he's gotta be in the bottom 5..

Nobody said the most obvious person to be anointed in wack juice ever!

...no, not Magoo...stop hating on the legend...

Milk D from Audio Two.

That nigga is TERRIBLE!!!! Basic ass monotone rapper talking about nothing.

No inflection, no style, nothing.

Got outrapped & outflowed by Ad Rock on his own song repeatedly.

And I don't care if he has a classic song. He's bum juice!

You’re an idiot
I’m not on the West Coast. I travel once every other year to the Best Coast. I define greatness as the ability to grab a verse at any moment in time and make it applicable to your current moment. Maybe it’s because I don’t have a complete master of his discography that has me feeling this way. He’s not my comfort food. When I’m in a good mood I don’t seek him out. If I’m angry I don’t seek him out. To listen to e 40 is a chore. He’s like listening to a dumb woman who you know is going to give you subpar head in the whip. Has a whole doctorate degree in education, in debt living in a studio apartment with her mother and her 10 year old daughter, and you’re only throwing her the dick because you’re damn near 40 and you know she wanted to be with you since middle school — technically elementary.
