@Spectrum and others have already correctly pointed out that if Trump's actions don't merit impeachment proceedings we may as well abandon the notion of a Republic altogether and switch to a monarchy. The article lays out some important benefits of the impeachment process (namely, bringing Trump to the stand and getting his testimony on the Congressional record). I understand your concerns around the danger of handing Trump another victory but his base is locked in no matter what... they are literally a cult so crafting a strategy that even feigns concern about what they think/do is a disaster imo. Moreover Dems risk alienating those who came to the polls to give them a mandate to oppose Trump's corruption fiercely. You and @fonzerrillii have made some great points about how this would need to be done for the best tactical effect but I don't think impeachment is even a question anymore. It needs to happen or all bets are off and the next crypto-facist the dumbfuck electorate votes in will be our last.

Come on man. When the republicans just took an L in the mid-terms, folks couldn't keep from talking about what it represented. You and I both know if Obama were allowed to run again, he'd win in 2020. Why? Because he'd carry states like Ohio. It's that simple.
Democrats have a problem relating to middle America and they also don't have a rockstar. They ain't winning a state like Ohio with 'Trump is a bad man' politics. You think it's a coincidence that the only two democrats that Ohio has voted for in recent decades were rockstars?

I don't know man. Obama from my knowledge never faced against the other candidate and their Russian sponsors. This isn't your typical election climate anymore where a rockstar can rock on and win with straight swag! This is some Kremlin sponsored deep state KGB massive operation which I think you're not giving enough credit too.
I suspect they tried and to some degree have influenced some elections. But they haven't, until Trump, found a person indebted and greedy at all cost to sign up for their help. There's more than enough that's been reported and in the M.report itself to show how deeply ingrained they were in the election process.
BTW, you're right about the House. But consider, that's multiple elections across the country to logistically try to influence whereas the Presidency is about two people. The incumbent and the challenger which makes counterINTEL a lot easier to manage, implement and manipulate accordingly.

You're definitely right that the presumptive Dem candidate will need to speak to what they stand for rather than campaigning solely on opposition to Trump. Most of the front runners seem to understand this already.
There's a world in which holding Trump accountable for his fuckery while campaigning on a platform of Democratic priorities aren't mutually exclusive.

Mueller seems to walk a tight rope. If he didn't flat out recommend an impeachment suggestion or clear obstruction conclusion in his report then why would he in front of congress? If anything, I would expect him to answer questions like he wrote in his report. Essentially presenting the facts as investigated and written in his report. Pretty much sticking to that tightrope walk and basically saying Congress is going to have to make a final decision on what to do with the information.
