I didn't know anything about this, other than Mia Goth and True Blood dude in it and I wasn't messing with Deon Taylor again and seeing Fear. He's filed under Tyler Perry for me.

I enjoyed it, it's not for everyone. I never knew what was coming next and kept me on my toes.

Mia Goth has been killing it the past two years. She does crazy well.

The only thing that takes you out are the hallucination dream like sequences. Well at least for me. It was like bathroom break acid trip time.

Just listened to this interview with the director this morning while driving ...

I watched this last night before going to bed on Netflix.

The premise of the film has been done a shit load of times since the 1950s, so not much in originality with the main story.

The film is basically a slow burn from start to finish. Graphic violence is not much to talk about.

The Wolf did not impress me. It looked more like a rabid cat in how it looked.

The film ended for a potential sequel. The ending also left it for the viewer’s interpretation. As of now we won’t get a definitive answer unless a sequel comes out.

Also, if a sequel is made, hopefully it gives more insight on the origin of the Wolf, from what they showed in its origin at the beginning, and with how the movie plays out. It brings up a bunch of questions.

The film is from Norway. Netflix has it dubbed in English. Subtitles used for onscreen graphics.

Synopsis

Thale has just moved with her parents to a small town after her mother has a new job in the local police. After a student is killed brutally at a party Thale attends, she becomes a key witness. Was the killer an animal? A wolf?

Recent Sci-Fi/Action film I watched the other night on Netflix.

The premise somewhat follows what HBO did with “Westworld” dealing with AI and robotics, the movie goes off in a slightly different direction.

The film is a slow burn and doesn’t pick up on action until about the last 20 minutes.

Their is a male character who is put in as comic relief that will come off as annoying and tempt you to turn it off, without spoiling it, just bear with it.

My main peeve was not much was shown of the world they live in on Earth and in Space, more should have been shown cuz the visuals we see are very interesting.

Overall, the film somewhat plays out like a live action anime movie. VFX/SFX is done pretty well and is a step up from what modern day, low budget Sci-Fi films you will find on tubi.

Netflix has it dubbed in English, subtitles used for graphics (There is some English used in some graphics which is interesting and odd). They left it off for a possible sequel or series.

Synopsis

In a post-apocalyptic near-future, a researcher at an AI lab leads the effort to end a civil war by cloning the brain of a heroic soldier -- her mother.

Super entertaining meathead theater that feels like Korean propaganda stunting on other Asian countries.

Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania

Time Terrorist

PRAISE: This was the most hyped I have ever been to see an Ant Man movie . The story this time around with its inclusion of Kang grabbed my interest as Ant-Man and the Wasp find themselves exploring the Quantum Realm, interacting with strange new creatures and embarking on an adventure that pushes them beyond the limits of what they thought was possible.
I did enjoy portions of the story that included threads about Scott Lang/Ant Man (portrayed with the usual capableness of Paul Rudd ) getting lost in his own fame . The ripple effect of "The Blip" still being felt was a good thread inclusion. The loss of time to bond with family and missing out on specific life experiences.
The rest of the cast do well with their roles including:Evangeline Lilly, Michael Douglas, Michelle Pfeiffer, Kathryn Newton , Bill Murray did well with his screen time but Jonathan Majors is the standout as Kang. He portrays him in such a great way to establish him as one of the MCU's most sinister villains. I really enjoyed how he played on the feelings and needs of others to get what he wanted . What is done visually in this movie was outstanding. All of the colorful characters that inhabit the Quantum Realm were fun to watch.
It all had this Journey to the Center of The Earth vibe.
Praise to the movie for taking some pages right from comics featuring Kang and bringing them to life.
The Loki series opened the door to Kang but now he has truly entered the MCU stick around for the 2 after credits scenes .

PROBLEMS: The film does waste some time on some silliness. I can't believe they had characters using the same "trick up their sleeves ".Some lazy writing in certain spots in the movie.
One character I know some people were looking forward to seeing in the movie mainly came off as a forgettable joke to me. I laughed so hard at the cheesiness of the character as if he was a character from Pee Wee's Playhouse. I guess I was supposed to feel some type of empathy for the character in the end but I felt nothing. It really felt like filler. Side characters were really forgettable.
One turn I wish the movie would have stuck with was resolved to quickly. I guess Marvel doesn't want to commit to something they may not be able to wrap up.

Recent Sci-Fi flick uploaded onto USA’s Netflix.

The premise has been done a number of times since the 80s, so nothing new with the main plot. They did put a different spin on this version.

Because it’s been done before, there really isn’t much to discuss.

Nothing really for VFX/SFX. The movie mainly is a “message” film without being preachy. There is a robot that will come off as annoying, it is there as comic relief.

If you looking for a clean film to watch to kill time with your kids, this will do.

The film is from the Netherlands, Netflix has it dubbed in English.

Synopsis

A fighter pilot goes back in time to prevent a global environmental catastrophe; however, because of the time travel, she gets younger; hence, no one takes her seriously.

Rewatching Casino Royale and Bond's obsession with Vesper throughout the series of movies makes no fucking sense. He is telling the chic he loves her and willing to give up everythign after knowing her for about a week, and it turns out their entire relationship was fake, because she played him to steal the money to save her real boyfriend. Yet in the last movie Bond is moping and shit and looking at her grave stone like she is the love of his life.

Jonathan Majors was in his own movie. It's like he didn't fit the tone of the movie. They're really over doing the comedy in these movies now. Dude was so serious, and everything around him wasn't.

These are progressively getting cornier. It's hard to to think there's stakes with jokes and the movies are becoming redundant and the villains aren't threats, because they always win.

There was a big Star Wars influence, which was sort of like CGI overload. It was like Ready Player One's battle scene.

Modok. :smh: It was distracting and I never got used to it, besides him being annoying. That's the best they could do? They really wanted to use him for another movie.

I saw it in IMAX 3D and thought the CGI was just :dunno:

Marvel needs to reboot, because Spider Man and BP2 were the only recent ones I liked.

Illogical and impossible

PRAISE: The only thing that made me keep watching this "movie" was trying to figure out how the main characters life was seemingly erased. Crystal the Doll was also a reason but they barely provided eye candy from her.

PROBLEMS: What an absolutely terrible revelation and resolution to this story.
I should have stopped watching as soon as the main character befriended some kooky and quirky lady and watched their odd interactions that followed. There is no way in the world that a person could put something together, involving so many people to lead up to the true answer to why the main characters life was altered. Plus the reason behind it was absolutely ILLOGICAL !!!!

Crouching Tiger Hidden Dragon 2000

Beautiful fucking movie. Next Level Direction and The acting was on point too. Michelle Yeoh is subtley beautiful, natural, elegant like an Asian Phylicia Rashad, I hope I'm not being blasphemous

They had a classic showing of this movie and even though I have it on Blu-ray I went to see it. I'd forgotten how much I love the movie. Though it was a pain reading the subtitles, I still loved it. I'm glad I went, because it's better on the big screen than on even my 85 in TV

Agreed. Saw it on the big screen with my mom back in the day. She called me up a few weeks after it was released and mentioned she was hearing all the buzz. Said we needed to see it on the big screen. We went on a Friday or Sat - theater was packed. Fun experience.

The Green Mile (1999)

Has there ever been a more perfect book to movie adaption then The Green Mile? Aside from the Percy-like character who was Old Man Edgecomb's antagonist, there was little, if any to this movie - at least anything of significance.

I know they didn't add the typical Stephen King brutally killing off the cast the way they were done in the book, but the entire movie and streams of dialogue were taken directly from the book.

If there is a better book to movie adaption then the green mile speak up or forever hold your peace because I read the book and listened to the audiobook and it's just like the movie.

I love this movie

Watched House of Gucci the other night.
Pretty decent flick.
Never knew the story about them.
That entire family was a mess.
Won't mentioned any spoilers for those who haven't seen it.
I thought Lady Gaga look really sexy in most of her scenes.

Watched Knock at the Cabin yesterday. Some parts worked better than others. The last 20 minutes or so weren't the strongest.

The movie doesn't overstay its welcome - it runs just over an hour and a half. So that was refreshing. Too many movies are overly long, and this one got right into the story within the first few minutes and didn't waste time with filler.

Solid role for Dave Bautista ... and the kid actor Kristen Cui was very good, in my opinion. Did well portraying emotion(s) and uncertainty.

Really liked when the camera zoomed in on a few of the faces at the start of the movie. Kind of wish they did more of that throughout the movie, as it was only used briefly at the start.

Infinity Pool was awful. I only watched it because that chick Mia Goth looks good nude and I like some of the actors. It was boring, slow paced, unintriguing, and put me to sleep.

I was thinking about checking it out soon.

Her performance was worth seeing though, right? She always does a good job portraying unhinged / crazed.

You haven't seen Raging Bull? Even if you're not a fan of Jake Lamotta or even boxing it's worth seeing. Few if any movies have shown a character go from the top of his game to rock bottom as well as that movie did. DeNiro captured Lamotta's violence and unraveling only the way a true artist can.

If you enjoy her acting, and I do to some extent, there's something about her looks and voice I find appealing, then she delivers. Nothing special of course because she doesn't have much range but she meets expectations.

I haven't seen Raging Bull. I don't know why. Maybe it's the fact that it was filmed in black and white didn't appeal to me growing up. I'll try to see if I can't find it

**checked **

It's on HBO MAX. I'll check it out sometime soon. I appreciate the slight nudge.

I appreciate the art of movies and acting so I will give a shot. I see that taxi driver, another movie I haven't seen is also on HBO Max

I 've watched a number of classic movies over the past few weeks.

Little Caesar(1931) - Edward G. Robinson owns this role.

Bad Day At Black Rock(1955) - Spencer Tracy was a bad ass.

Brute Force(1947) - Lancaster/Cronyn were great.

The Petrified Forest(1936) - Great dialogue/cast.

Marked Woman(1937) - Bogart/Davis were great again.
